Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

WhiteSabre and the two mini sabres just got me my own poker set for my bday!

And I've got next week off. Woot!

Guys, if you don't know already, this will change your life.

Also, Pinaud Clubman is the most under-appreciated brand in the Everywhere.

EDIT: Maybe I should crosspost this in the "Thing you only learned, but should already know" thread?

Under-appreciated my eye! You say that as though there's some other ubiquitous make of styptic pencil.

Talc + running turns you into a surprised dude with a gigantic hand? I'm so confused.

So I'll be the noob here and ask what you're talking about.

What are you talking about?

Talc in the crotchular area, plus long distance running (or any activity that results in lots of sweating) means nI chafing and/or rash. Baby powder also works, as does foot powder.

Eep, it shipped today! I've got to find a drive asap now.

I have to run 4 OS's for testing of all sorts and crunch video at the same time.

Originally made for cyclists, but might I recommend DZ Nuts? Their about page is hilarious, and the stuff is all-natural and 100% awesome.

Is...is that a real thing? Cause man, that's probably the most brilliant branding I've seen in a long time.

Yeah, it totally is. It's by a well-known American cyclist named Dave Zabriskie (hence the DZ). The entendre with his name and the classic expression these nuts works pretty well.

So, I've not tried this. But I'm a very sweaty runner - it just brings up a mental image of running with a half pound of porridge in my shorts, mainly because of a comedy story my wife tells that I'm spoilering for extreme-NSFW-yness

Spoiler:

When I met the wife, she was doing open-mike stand-up comedy. One of her bits that she swears is absolutely true is about going down on a guy who powdered his balls, and resulting in her nostrils getting blocked with a cornstarch-and-water like frothy mixture of spit, ball-sweat and talc

My preferred solution is spoilered for maximum TMI-itude.

Spoiler:

Keep yer ball-hair trimmed fairly short, and wax up your legpits with some BodyGlide . And of course, wearing cotton is a big no-no: tech-fabrics only.

When I was in the military, my preparation for our long-distance marches (20 km or so with a 50lb rucksack) involved spandex bike shorts and baby powder. You don't need a whole lot of it. A light coating will do and keep the area dry. I would also rub it into my pits and on my shoulders (to avoid chafing by the rucksack). Granted, due to a childhood with lots of biking and swimming, I have fairly large thighs to begin with...

In 2007 my wife and I lost our first child at 20 weeks after trying to get pregnant for five years.

Yesterday, we hit 32 weeks with our second pregnancy! Our high risk specialist told us we didn't need her any more until the next pregnancy. The other good news was that she (the baby) is ahead of schedule developmentally, and as long as we can get to 34 weeks there should be no problem with us taking her home within a day or two of birth.

Also, last week I got a promotion and about a 30% raise over my previous pay grade.

I'm flying high lately!

Exactly, thanks for clearing that up Don't use extrastrength foot powders, though. They're a little too enthusiastic about pulling out the moisture.

Gratz, bighoppa!

Here in Soviet Canuckistan, I think the dominant styptic pencil manufacturer is Shopper's Drugmart. It's pretty much all I've ever owned, since I gave up my grandad's expired alum block.

I got to see Jeff Mangum (of Neutral Milk Hotel) play at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland last night. It's a concert I'd been waiting to see for well over a decade and it was goddamn incredible.

St.Hillary, Kannon and AP_Erebus.

You know why.

Being able to pick on you in person instead of just online?
