Android Games Catch-All

There's the TBS UniWar as well.

Oh, that's on Android now?

I believe it's been on Android for almost two years now.

Any recommendations for asynchronous turn based games where I can keep several going? Kind of like how ascension worked for iOS, but it doesn't need to be a card or strategy game.

At the moment all I know of is Words with Friends and Draw Something for Android.

Played the first level of Squids and enjoyed it. More at lunchtime, I think.

Just played 30 minutes or so of The World of Magic from com2us. It's a pretty well-made MMO action-RPG. Sort of Secret of Mana meets WoW. Played pretty well on my phone and looks like there's some depth to the skill choices for the three classes. I've joined the Turtlez server and the rebellion faction. Also free.

Ah, yes, it's been almost 3 years. I didn't pay much attention when people talked about it cause I had no way of playing it back when it released. Need to add it to my collection.

Anyway, moving on ...

Squids is super, super good. Go play it!

So, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but it's not in the OP, and I'm not going back to look.
I've been having a lot of fun with Squids the past couple days.
It's a turn based tactical RPG where you move and attack by pulling and flinging your squids around the board. Love the art style, the music is good if repetitive, and the mechanic is really fun. Keeps getting described as Angry Birds had a baby with Final Fantasy Tactics, and that's about right.
And I guess it's doing pretty well, since they've announced a sequel.
Did I mention that it's free?

Agreed. I am impressed by it as well.

I wrote some very silly music for this game:

Greedy Cookie

You forgot one important thing.

Haha, right, so I did.

This may not be the thread for this but... Anyone know of a good RPG for android?

I would say this is the perfect thread for the question.

Are we talking western RPGs, JRPGs, action RPGs, strategy RPGs, etc?

I know of the Zenonia series, but haven't played any: https://play.google.com/store/search...

Then there's Legends of Yore, which is a lite roguelike. Frankly, if you want a roguelike, go with Angband, but I like old school roguelikes, so ...

Gurk, which I didn't like for some reason, but plenty of people do.

The Battle for Wesnoth is a pretty good strategy/TBS game.

Oh, turned up this post with a ton of stuff: http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showt...

I posted a page or two back about Andors Trail. Based upon the number and score of the user ratings on this one, it would seem most would agree with me that this is a very good rpg.

Amazon's free app of the day is LED Football, which is a licensed version of the old Mattel Football LED handheld. Suffice to say, let the awesome commence.

I went to download it and I noticed this lovely banner:

f*ck you, Amazon. f*ck you.

Thanks. Got it already. But everyone (over 30? :D) needs to know about this!

Amazon AppStore is hot again!

Today's ap: X-Men the Arcade Game!

Glad I never paid $10 for that on PSN/XBLA

Anyone played this on a phone? I saw my friend playing on an iPad and it looked playable but on a phone..I don't know. I hate virtual buttons.

It's okay. I have virtual controls too, but my only real complain here is I tend to hit my menu button and the super power button by accident. Super precise controls aren't really needed here anyway, so I wasn't overly frustrated with the controls.

Just wanted to throw out another recommendation for Squids.
Excellent game!

I just booted up X-Men on my Kindle Fire. Seems to run pretty well! I don't imagine I'd like it on my phone, but on a 7" screen, it's rockin' pretty hard.

Yeah, I think a tablet would make it easier to hit the proper buttons. As I said, the XMen game doesn't require exact precision (it's not a dual stick shooter) and it's free. Just "buy" it, you don't have to install it.

garion333 wrote:

True. Doubt it runs on my old Droid. Waiting to try when I get my new phone in a couple days.

X-Men is good time-killer fun on my Galaxy Tab 10.1. Runs fine, looks good, etc. Love that Amazon puts stuff like this out for free on occasion.

I've been having a lot of fun with Pyramid Rising lately (on my tablet). It's a building game that requires careful planning and decent reflexes to get all of the "golden scarab" bonuses. Really nice presentation and sound.

The first ten levels are free, and then it's $2.25 to unlock the rest of the game.

Because We May indie game sale

And specifically, these 99 cent games are FREE for a week on Android:

Crowded Space
Afternoon World Trip
Coins
Apsis

Games that stay on my Epic 2. Anomaly HD, Asphalt 6, Battleheart, Edge, Edge EX, Flick Golf, GTA III, Minecraft, Reckless Raciing, Where's my Water, World of Goo.

Battleheart is an awesome RPG. Anomaly is a fun reverse tower defense game. Edge and Edge EX are puzzlers.

So I'm moving soon and I probably wont get to set up my PC for a while. So I'm looking for multiplayer games or preferably asynchronous games that I can play on either my phone or Kindle Fire?

[Crosspost] I don't know if this should be in game or non-game (so I'll do both!). Official Xbox Live app
