GWJ-ATX 2013: Third Monday Movies

I would like to meet this... Boogle... person. Speak to me of your plans, young one.

Well I recently negotiated a flophouse to stay in Friday night. I don't know the person, but they are the former roommate of a good friend.
I also plan on playing disc golf on Saturday.
I'm not a very good planner. Also, I have no transportation. Just kinda winging this.

So Boogle finishes up around lunch on Friday. I'll probably meet up with him for some food and then turn him loose on Austin for a couple hours. After work, meet up for drinks and dinner downtown somewhere.

I think we'll start at Lovejoy's around 5 and then figure it out from there. PM me (and/or Boogle) for a phone number if you want to sync up.

I liked lovejoys. Happy hours are fun.

May: Inspired by Koshnika's BBQ post, what about a spring picnic? Something family-friendly.

I fly down to Ft Worth on the 23rd; I am totally up for driving down to Austin for these. Luckily, I have unlimited mileage on my rental.

I should be able to attend as I plan on making the move around May 1.

You landed the job?

I did sir. Now the housing hunt begins.

Congrats on the job, boogle. Where'd you get hired? Feel free to PM if you don't want it public.

Did you audition to "Working for the Weekend"?

"Back in the Saddle again"

Spring Picnic sounds great. I can't join for memorial weekend.

5/12 looks good for me, and I'd prefer "up north" as to "down south"

I hear brushy creek has disc golf...

Looking at the calendar, 5/12 is tentatively the date (pending wifely approval). Where?

I'd really like to get some early commitments on this one so we can go about picking a spot that's not too inconvenient for anyone. I could reserve a pavilion in Cat Hollow Park or Brushy Creek Lake Park but those are "way up north" for some folks. Also, coordinating resources will go better with more feedback and input. Thanks.

North works well for me too; how close to Ft. Worth can we get it?

Put me down as tentative. That weekend is listed as the first travel home weekend we are allowed and, I might be flying home to get some stuff/my car.

I has a spot in Austin. Little flat near St. Edward's University so pretty close to work too.
Hot dog team.

OK, upgrade me to definite; I won't be traveling home that weekend.

I might need to crash at someones place as it's a 3 hour trip for me.

11:00?

11:00 would work fine for me. Should we start a Google doc sign up sheet for what we are bringing food wise?

5/12 looks good for us too. I also need to check with my wife, but the calendar appears open.

So, I know that this is totally a late entry. But any interest in going to see some Jousting that weekend?

It takes place Friday = Sunday the 11, 12, and 13th just a bit north east of town in Taylor.

We're coming. Me, wife, 2 girls.

My Wife and I are totally coming. for reals this time. like its on my calander and hers. (Hers is the important one. SWMBO)

As info:

1. How much are tickets?
Bought online, ticket prices are: Friday — Adults & Youths(ages 6 - 16) $16; Saturday & Sunday — Adults $20, Youths(ages 6 - 16) $18. At the gate, ticket prices are: Friday — Adults & Youths(ages 6 - 16) $19; Saturday & Sunday — Adults $24, Youths(ages 6 - 16) $22. Children 5 and under are always free

Honestly, I've been feeling lately that organizing this gathering on a monthly basis is a bit like pulling teeth, and so have dragged my feet in reserving a pavilion (with the fallback plan of just hosting at my house). If it wouldn't cost me $100 to take the family (not counting gas, food, etc.), I would have audibled to the jousting since it's even on the same day.

Anyway, would it be possible to get a count of how many are genuinely interested and able to gather on 5/12, assuming a location north of 620? If it's a small number, I'll save the reservation fee and just host it myself. Thanks.

Edit: Taking a hint from someone's post up-thread, here's a spreadsheet.

I'm in!

Also, I would totally be down with going to watch Jousting if anyone wants to.

Updated the spreadsheet.

I will bring Charcoal, Chimney starter, and competence.
Along with some delicious stuff to grill. My wife has agreed to make German Potato Salad

Anything in particular we want?
Burgers, chicken, Pork chop/loin, steaks, Dogs for the kiddos? unless they eat steak!
