Keep talking pal. Just a few more post for your tag. I nominate "Gasshole"

If you want to get a real kick, just look at which car manufacturers are consistent out there. Some of them always seem to put them on the same side, some seem to just go back and forth. Doesn't seem to be a country thing either.

Even some vehicles (same make and model) switch from year to year.

Another trick for rental cars is keeping track of the kms/miles per litre/gallon tickers. it's becoming more common on cars, and is usually on the same button as the trip meter, you may have to just cycle through to it. Keep track of your distance with the trip meter and you can keep track of the approximate amount of gas you use so you know how much to put back in.

In Firefox you can double click on the tab bar (not on a tab itself) and it will open a new blank tab.

Opera does that as well.

Copa de Oro liquor is nearly indistinguishable from Kahlua but costs half as much. Knowing this could have either saved me a lot of money or gotten me twice as drunk

Shift-escape brings up a task manager for the different Chrome processes. So, you know, we have that going for us.

If you ain't using Ctrl-T, you is using yo' browser wrong.

Though, to be fair, I usually just hit Ctrl-L, type, then hit Alt-Enter.

I'm one of those archaic people that doesn't use keyboard shortcuts (other than cop/cut/paste). I usually use RMB context menus.

While we're at browser stuff: Instapaper icon in browser + sending long articles to Kindle is pure win. I read the interesting long-form stuff everyday morning during commute. Today's top read - on addictiveness of "stupid games".

Nile Rodgers produced David Bowie's Let's Dance.

EDIT: OH SH!T - He also produced the soundtrack to Halo 2 & 3

Oh hot.

I've had to make use of this almost every time I went to the pump for the first year I owned my subaru as the tank is on the right, whereas most cars (including my wifes and my former one) are on the left. I have to say, more than once I didn't look and got it backwards and had to move my car after stopping it.

Something I didn't know until recently is that the kind of gas pumps where the hose is anchored up high can reach far enough to fill my gas tank regardless of which side of the car my gas cap is on. Costco pumps are especially good for this - I can just get in whichever line is shortest.

Also - I keep finding out that people don't know that middle-clicking a link will open it in a new tab (for most browsers).

...or if on a Windows laptop, press both track pad buttons at the same time.

Ctrl-click works as well.

Also of note (at least in Chrome) - if you close a tab you need back, you can undo the close with ctrl+shift+t

Also works in IE and Firefox. I use this all the time when I get a little too happy with ctrl+w.

Good read. Maybe we should start a "gamification" thread.

One of the best hotkeys ever invented.

In the same vein of undoing your biggest mistakes: Sexy Undo Close Tab

If you're interested, I wrote a Lovecraftian-style short story a few years ago. You can find it here.

Inaccurate. Only Han shot.

Something I want to make sure my future children know so they don't have to post this themselves:

"Hayden Christensten wasn't in Return of the Jedi."

Of all the star wars remixes/edits/updates that's my most hated one.

I double-post for real computers!

Not on real computers it isn't.

Boogle isn't pronounced Boggle.... (http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1...)

Clearly I'm still relatively new here.

CTRL is near the RMB right?

I pronounce it like 'booger'. I like being wrong sometimes.
