Competitive League of Legends discussion | Season 2016 | The League of Pablo

Yeah it seems like CLG was trying to prove they could beat it.

Anyway, they are doing a State of the League episode from the show right now. Should be pretty interesting.

edit: haha oh man, Scarra just said that he was only playing mid lane Soraka so much because he hates it and wants it nerfed.

I like how Dignitas basically admitted Lulu is broken and Soraka mid is the worst thing ever.

Yep, that's the way it goes though. I still think good on them for figuring that out and making it work. It may be kind of lame but at least it's more interesting to watch than 50 hour long CLG poke comp

Schedule for today:
http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflege...

Loser bracket round 1:
v8 vs Epik
aAa vs MM

Loser bracket round 2:
Curse vs Winner of (aAa vs MM)
CLG vs Winner of (v8 vs Epik)

Loser bracket round 3:
Winner of (Curse vs Winner of (aAa vs MM)) vs Winner of (CLG vs Winner of (v8 vs Epik)

Winners Finals
TSM vs Dignitas

MM vs AAA is on right now
http://www.twitch.tv/ipllol/

Spoiler:

aAa and Epik are eliminated

Oh man, CLG vs v8 game 2
THAT. ENDING.

Spoiler:

CLG is 4 man pushing bottom with 1 pushing top into v8's base. 4 of v8 go and push mid into CLG's base. Janna from CLG base and stall as v8 is takes down the nexus towers then Irelia and Ryze from CLG base to help defend as v8 is beating the nexus. Vayne on CLG kills Sion who is defending in v8s base and bases just in time for CLG to kill the 4 pushers from v8 as they are about halfway through the nexus. The whole time Shyvana from CLG is still in v8's base and beating on their nexus towers. The rest of CLG comes and they win the game

Yeah, I'm really impressed with the quality of play at this tournament. In previous tournaments I always felt like whichever team gets the early advantage is able to inevitably snowball it into victory. But this weekend there have been tons of really close games and upsets. Although the favorites are still mostly winning.

Wow, the Curse-Mono series was pretty sick.

Spoiler:

I thought Mono was done in Game 2, after losing Game 1. It felt like Curse was going to push and win at any moment, and then Mono snuck in a three-person Baron and held on, in a very long game, to win. Game 3 was pretty good too, but the second game is the keeper.

Spoiler:

TSM takes down Dig 2-1
Dig will be facing CLG tomorrow in the loser bracket final

Dig vs CLG loser's bracket finals

Spoiler:

CLG wins 2-0. Dig didn't ban Nidalee second game and CLG, of course, built poke comp around her. Watching CLG doing poke comp is like a graceful dance.

The finals are going to be pretty weird. TSM gets a game up advantage in the Bo3, then if the loser bracket final winner manages to win that Bo3, there is yet another Bo3 after that. The commentators said it's a potential 6 games but I'm pretty sure that comes out to a potential 5, right? 2 games max in the first Bo3 since TSM only has to win 1 game, then 3 game max in the second Bo3 where it will be even. Unless the second Bo3 goes through regardless of who wins the first? This is pretty damn confusing.

Spoiler:

That might have been the single worst comp to pick against poke comp. No hard engage, no hard CC at all to speak of.

Edit: my favorite reddit quote of the day: "Hopefully KPOP DAY 3 has less LoL interruptions than yesterday."

They will be distinct Bo3's. So CLG has to win the first Bo3 (with both teams starting 0-0) to force a second Bo3. So yes there could be 6 games.

It's how standard double elimination tournaments work, although with the Bo3 format it means a lot of potential game.

OMG KOBE24!!!!! *swoon*

hhhhnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

I'm going to be hanging out in vent btw if anyone wants to do some live game discussion in an hour. The finals should be pretty damn good.

Hmm, can't find the final two games online, missed 'em because of Easter family stuff.

Spoiler:

By the final two games, I mean the games after CLG beat TSM in the first BO3.

I'm watching this right now: http://www.twitch.tv/national_esl1
CLG vs Dig
CLG picked Tristana mid to counter pick mid lane Soraka
Also, terrible casting going on here I suggest muting.

It looks like the IPL site video is bugged but you can find the VODs here
http://www.youtube.com/user/GeneralW...

Thanks. Wiser didn't have the last three games when I posted, but I finally saw them in the 9 hour VOD on the IPL site.

After CLG won the first BO3 so convincingly, I wasn't sure TSM was going to hold on in the final two games. It felt like CLG was all over them in both games, and one slip would hand the game to CLG, but TSM didn't slip.

And then TSM's coach, credited by the players as making the difference in their lifestyle and prep for IPL4, quits a couple days after the tournament

I'm watching a Korean showmatch between MIG frost and Najin, and some crazy stuff has happened. 3 minute dragons. The last game in a best of 3 is apparently blind pick? And the 3 blind pick lanes were all mirror matchups.

Googled the names, found it on Wellplayed if anyone else wants to watch.

And now it's over! I saw the last team fight in the third game

It was probably OGN http://www.ognlol.com/index.php

Another cool thing I discovered about OGN last night, if you go to the results page and then the breakdown page for a team, you can see the heroes each player played, their end game stats, and their rune/mastery setup.

Looks like MLG has officially picked up LoL for the rest of the Spring circuit
http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/com...

Awesome, it says they're picking up LoL for the rest of 2012, starting with the event in Anaheim.

Ah, I didn't see the full announcement, I had just seen it tweeted and then found that.
This is the better link:

So apparently some major changes happened in the last day or two for the NA teams. Voyboy left Dignitas and joined CLG as the top laner. HotShot is going to jungle and SaintVicious got kicked or demoted (not totally clear). Saint then joined Curse when Crumbz left because he couldn't move in to a Curse gaming house since he's in college. Then Crumbz joined Dignitas as their top laner, replacing Voyboy who joined CLG.

So basically a three-way trade among three of the top teams. HotShot going into jungle just baffles me because his playstyle is to AFK farm top lane which you can't do as a jungler. Not to mention he plays basically only two champions: Nidalee and Cho'gath. And then you have TSM who has seemingly stopped giving a crap about LoL with OddOne being the only one who steadily plays anymore.

LoL is never short on the drama.

Honestly the second TSM team (the reformed EG) is probably the most interesting team right now. They have a super strong lineup and they actually have pretty respectable players. One of my problems with so many esports teams is that the players are just total D-bags. Wingsofdeath, Nhat, Aphromoo, and Salce are all super chill nice players (at least as far as their streaming and attitude go)

Unfortunately, this problem seems especially prevalent in LoL esports

TSM vs TSM:Evo (old EG) in the RoG invitational
http://www.twitch.tv/curse_lol

MLG Anaheim starting later today
http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflege...
The team lineup looks great:

Team SoloMid
Counter Logic Gaming
Team Dignitas
TSM.EVO (Formerly Epik)
Curse Gaming
Team Dynamic
mTw.NA
SK Gaming
FnaticRC
Absolute Legends EU
CLG.eu
Sypher

Casters will be: Phreak, Rivington, Joe Miller, Jatt, Studio, Dan Dinh

Big event, but no M5? I don't like their players, but they certainly do well.
