You know this week's Game of the Week is kinda unavoidable. Not to mention that nobody in their right mind is throwing up anything against the 800 pound gorilla. So, if you're buying a video game this week, then odds are that you are buying one of Madden NFL 07's eleven different versions. And, let's be fair, there's some enticing elements to this year's offering, not the least of which is the inclusion of licensed Hall of Fame players, lead blocker control, expanded Franchise mode, and the return of mini-camp games to the 360. Love it or hate it, Madden NFL 2007 is the clear Game of the Week.
While Silent Hill is the most widely recognized DVD to be released this coming week, don't miss the release of Veronica Mars Season 2. A much smarter show than one might expect, and a virtual must for former Buffy fans (The Whedon makes a guest appearance early in the season), Veronica Mars falls in that dangeous and nebulous area of critical acclaim and weak ratings. If you haven't had a chance to check Veronica out, then I recommend a Netflix or rental of Season 1. More DVDs here.

Bad Day LA looks really fun!
Excellent. More chance to play Chromehounds and Company of Heroes beta.
Save your money, or at least wait for reviews. The demo was awful.

I second the recommendation of Veronica Mars. It's a show that does for film noir what Buffy did for horror. And one thing you can say for a new Madden game, it always gets a reaction from the crowd.
Maybe I'll give Veronica Mars a watch.
I second Certis. The previews for Bad Day LA weren't very favorable. It gets boring quite fast, so they say.
It's easy to play piano: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time.
You should, it's a great show. The wife and I watched the entire first two seasons by downloading torrents.
Certis: Quintin is both smart and attractive.
Fedaykin98: Good lord, I wouldn't have expected brilliance like that from that nemeslut Quintin Stone!
Yonder: It's weird to say this, but Quintin Stone may be the wisest person here.
Next week? Enchanted Arms, baby!

What? No love for Dr House? I like Veronica Mars, but it's lacking in curmudgeony goodness.

Yes, House is also teh awesome.

Another vote for Veronica Mars. Dramatic Marlin lent me the Season 1 DVDs after I teased him for watching it after seeing the ridiculous premise of the show. After I finally got around to watching them I was totally hooked. My wife and I would alternate between watching BSG and Veronica Mars on DVD and Veronica Mars held its own quality/enjoyment wise with BSG.
So now I am in the awkward position of recommending a TV show featuring a plucky teenage P.I. and her high school adventures. But it rocks!!
P.S. Highly recommend starting with season 1.
I'm still right here
Giving blood, keeping faith
Yeah, I remember being interested in it after reading a recommendation online from Joss Whedon. I downloaded the first several eps and burned them to DVD. Then I had to pitch the show to my wife, based on what little I knew of it. "It's, uh, a girl. And she solves, like, mysteries and crimes. Or something?" It's a wonder she ever agreed to watch it. Now she's hooked. We both are.

I'm not buying a video game this week.

Yes, in describing the show, it's hard to explain it without making it sound cheesy and unwatchable. If it helps, Kristin Bell is not hard on the eyes.
I've never watched House. I've been meaning to.
The thing about smart people is they seem like crazy people to dumb people -- Thing I saw on the Internet
Don't really get all the fuss about Madden coming from the right side of the pond. I guess FIFA is the nearest thing over here but even then not massive in the video gaming community by comparison. Seems to me it's a diluted version of rugby ;p

... and she's going to be the voice for Hex in the upcoming Flatland: The Movie.
I like how there's more talk about Veronica Mars than Madden on this thread Shoulda made that the game of the week!

Stop pointing out awesome movies that will never show in my town.
Well, if it never makes it to your town, at least it will eventually come out on DVD.
