The time tested and classic "attack food with face" method

In the battle of face vs food.... Food wins.

Now those are some anime eyes!

And even at 4, she uses them to devastating effect. Her mother's genes.

Cool that you let your baby boy wear earrings.

I have been working on making a print and play version of the Dune board game for the last couple months. Last night I was sitting on the couch sticking stickers on the chits for the different factions. I set my 6.5 month old son next to me on the couch and gave him a sealed bag full of the spice pieces I have for the game to gnaw on that he was very interested in. His bottom two teeth came in last week and we are rather sure he is working on the top two. While we were sitting there he reached out his little hand and set it on my arm. We sat like that for a few minutes. I enjoyed that quite a bit. We also sat on the couch together for almost half an hour he hasn't sat still since he starting to learn to crawl about a month. It was a wonderful moment.

My son just hoisted himself up on the sofa for the first time, and made his way straight for the 360 controller.

In daughter news, I took the kids to the local soft play place yesterday. While my wife and I were feeding our son and talking to friends, we kept our eye on my 4 year old princess as she dashed up and down the slides.

After a while, it occurred to me that I couldn't see her, some crawled around the crevices of the soft play (a giant multi-level pirate ship) but couldn't find her. Cue a panicked search. the place is utterly secure, and the staff know us well, so I couldn't figure out where she could have gone.

Eventually, I found her on a balcony at the other end. She had smuggled herself into a private party, getting through several child gates in the process. She was sitting at the table munching on a sandwich and drinking juice, surrounded by kids that she didn't know! As I stormed in, a worried looking lady asked what the hell I was doing (giving every appearance of being a stranger kidnapping a child from her party), and, after a frantic explanation, she told me that she had been taking photos of her with the birthday girl!

Beware of that girl when she gets older.

Sidebar: I've got some interesting house rules we put together that fix what we think are a number of problems with the original game if you want to PM me.

In other news, my son did his first Fus Ro Dah yesterday. Wish I had the camera ready.

So I bought my daughter a simple three dollar ball Saturday and it's been a big hit. For the first half hour she just did this the whole time:

This is a GREAT thread idea, apologies in advance for the future inundation of images and posts.

Thing I'm loving right now? Our 2.5 year old coming up to me and asking if she can watch "Fwaggle Wock". We picked up Seasons 2-4 for $5 each recently after the success of the Classic Muppet Show in this household.

Nothing like vintage Henson to start of the love of the fantastical... Next step, Dark Crystal (but not for a while yet, those Skeksis still freak me out as an adult).

I don't know why but that video just screams physicist to me.

"Ef equals EmAy Daddy! Ef equals EmAy!"

The other day, I got my 3 year old to say 'Fus Ro Dah'.

Thanks to the Muppets soundtrack, my 4 year girl can now sing "We Built this City" by Starship. Damn cute.

I do have a few cute baby pictures, but that stuff was long ago. Here's one of my favorite pictures of a bunch of the gang on my porch about a year or so ago.

Can I beg you to take that iron down from off that ironing board so that your daughter doesn't give the cord a yank?

That's just good parenting. Congrats.

I fear that my son is destined for the wrong path. I told him that he should take a walk on the wild side. He told me that there was no wild side, just the dark side.

What about almost all the cool dudes on Tatooine? Very few of those bros were Force-aligned.

So one of our twins was recently signed by a talent agent. I submitted both but only one of them was chosen, sadly. Early tomorrow morning he and I are on our way to NJ to do a Toys R Us photo shoot! I think it is pretty neat that other people, besides me, think my kid is cute enough for this kind of stuff!

** It is very reputable talent agent and we have not had to put 1 penny in funds out. They get paid when we work...

Cool! Congrats. That sounds like an interesting thing to go after.

but seriously, babies are expensive

Something I'm kind of proud and amazed by every year: two of my kids are Enforcers, and one of them is going to Boston with me tomorrow. Ironically, she's assigned as my deputy so she really is my evil minion.

I was talking to her yesterday about various things and pointed out that, especially since now she's 21, she doesn't have to hang out with me when we're off-shift. She told me that hanging out with me was one of the reasons she went.

Bring them up in the way that they should go.... and when they're older they'll go to cons and watch Star Trek marathons with you.

We had our first photo shoot for Lucas today and I m proud to announce that he will be featured on 2 toy boxes! You parents know when you are buying toy and it always shows a happy, engaged baby playing with it on the box...yes, that will be our Lucas for 2 different toys due out by Toys R Us in 6-9 months.

He is gonna hate this photo when he is older, but my wife loves it...

Edit: Fixed that image...Right!

You'd best be posting pics of the ads, missy!

I will! We are hoping this is the first of many print ads in Luke's future! We were just submitted for a Carter's one, a lot of it is a waiting game, but doing the shoot was a lot of fun...except for the parking ticket I got in Jersey...that sucked. A lot.

Enjoy the royalties from the shoot! Me and my brother did some modeling when we were growing up and even did a Wendy's commercial. Years later, we were still getting paid, not much, but it helped.

Goodgerdom, what's the cooler nickname spelling for Lucas, Luke or Luc?

So what you're really asking is, Star Wars or Star Trek?
