I'm leaning towards getting a Wii anyways, can anyone list some good exclusive games I should look into beyond this one?

The few off the top of my head are:

- Super Mario bros
- Zelda (Skyward and Twilight)

What am I missing? Any really decent RPGs?

This may be a better place to pursue that question line. Just give some idea of what you're looking for.

I'm sure there's other Wii threads with a TON of answers.

Even that one settled the question for me. Can't wait to dive into Xenoblade on good Friday :D

If you really want a used Wii on the cheap, Cowboom (used stuff from Bestbuy) has them for $60+$5 shipping today (only).

Cowboom? That's the name they came up with? 0_o

Sounds like they're trying to take a bite out of Gazelle.

I've got a line on one for 75$ locally which I'm going to take up.

I have no idea how Cowboom relates to Best Buy...

It has a BestBuy logo on the front page.

It's the name that's really perplexing me. Makes me think of blowing up Brahmin in Fallout

Picked this up at lunch today and even got an art book I didn't expect to get.

Can't wait to dive into it tonight and tomorrow!

You got it today? I thought it was releasing tomorrow.

Almost everything is closed for Good Friday in Canada so I suspect EB is selling it a day early.

Pre-ordered.

Traded in a couple things and got it for half-price. Good enough I guess. Don't want to miss out in case it becomes hard to find.

I'm debating picking up a second copy just to have a sealed one...

Just got my GS shipment confirmation. I hope to be nearly done with RDR before it arrives, but that doesn't seem likely. :\

I caved and put $5 on a copy at Gamestop this afternoon. The funny part about it is I sold my Wii a year ago. I hope Dolphin runs the usa version as well as it does the pal version.

Am I missing something? Amazon does not have this game for sale or any info on this game.

The closest is a Japan Import of the game, but I can't read Japanese. The Xenoblade Chronicles wiki pages says it is being release in North America April 6, 2012. Anyone help me out here?

Nintendo and GameStop are the only places to buy the game.

Sixteen has your answer, and Clock has your links.

That's why a lot of us pre-ordered, despite hating Gamestop. Only 2 retailers screams "small print run" so it's going to be hard (impossible?) to find... probably after this weekend.

*grumble*grumble*

Only JRPG I've been interested in a while and I have no means of playing it. Could possibly pick up a Wii and the Japanese version but I don't unnderstand Japanese.

Or you could import the EU version, buy a Wii, and softmod it to get around region locking.

This post confuses me to no end. The game has been out for over a year in Japan and you are talking about it like it's just coming out, and your location indicates you live there, but you are saying you don't understand Japanese? Oh, wait, i just looked at your profile. Are you there for school?

Dammit in my stupidity I didn't realize 95% of PC cdroms don't read Wii games. My original plan was to buy the game rip the iso and play it on dolphin emulator. Now I'm just stuck with a new shiny game that I can't do anything with lol.

Got it. Home. Thinking about unwrapping... part of me wants to check ebay... but no, I need to play this dammit!

Born and raised on the west coast of Canada. Moved to Japan 6 months ago to teach English to children for a year or two. I'm pretty much one of 6 foreigners in this city and only 1 can even speak Japanese (he's fully fluent and married to a girl. They own a mountain).

That's way too much work. I wants it now!

How do people create ISOs from Wii games anyway? Do they come from the other 5% of CDroms?

Mostly homebrew directly from the Wii console to usb hard drives. Apparently there's like 4 or 5 LG model cdroms that can read Wii games. I'm bummed out, looks like I'm going to be borrowing a Wii from someone for awhile.

Xenoblade instruction manual has English, French, and Spanish.

After three hours in I'm impressed. The world is huge, combat is interesting and the affinity system is something I've never seen before.

Most of my time has been spent doing small little side quests. The few story bits I have been through are interesting and the voice acting is really well done.

Picked up a copy today, although I barely survived the barrage of pleading to preorder games at Gamestop. I had almost forgot why I don't shop there any more. Having watched the GiantBomb quick look I kind of feel like this may be the game I wanted White Knight Chronicles to be. Can't wait to fire it up tonight!

Although I'd still rather have a new Dark Cloud or Dragon Warrior

I ... I hate to say this, but this looks worse than I was expecting. The faces in particular.

That said, nothing I can't get past, but I was a bit surprised at my reaction.

Just keep the camera zoomed out and don't watch too closely during cutscenes, and most of the time you'll think the game looks pretty amazing. It's artistically gorgeous (especially when you can appreciate the scale of things), but up close you will be frequently reminded of two things:

1. The Wii is REALLY old hardware.

and

2. The engine is tuned to be able to present huge, gorgeous environments, but it does so at the cost of up close fidelity (LOD? What's that?), no doubt thanks to the fact that the Wii is REALLY old hardware.
