The Darksiders 2® Catch-All

I'm with you on all that, Clockwork. I just don't think it's that big a detriment.

But yeah, Skyward Sword is better about continually using the older gadgets throughout later dungeons. It'd be nice to see Darksiders 2 follow suit. I kind of had the same issue with the weapons. Nothing could be as powerful or versatile as the sword, so why bother sticking them in there?

That's what I wanted to say. I just wasn't bothered by the stuff. Would it have been a much better game to have made every item be more useful in other situation? Yes. But did it make it less fun only having one, or no real uses for some things? Not really. That said, the sequel should work to fix these issues, but I feel they may just be avoiding the issues and going a loot drop route instead.

I'd get this day one if we fix our PS3 in time.

You've got at least 6 months. Don't let the time get away from you, though. The world might end before then.

Well, I enjoyed the first one for what it was, and I'm looking forward to this one too (at some point).

New footage went up yesterday. The first in-game in quite a while.

Day One for me.

Yeah, definitely day one for me as well. I really enjoyed the first, save the last dungeon which felt overly complicated, but to each his own. I've always been interested in the myth, and even though the story of the first was pretty shallow, I'm still interested.

Also, I see a lot of variety in the gameplay footage, which could mean nothing, but to me, comes off as improvements on the issues the first one had. I want this game to become the next big thing, and if they improve on these issues, they could be on their way. Can't wait!

Some new gameplay footage up at Kotaku (first video in the series).

Pre-order gets you a "Limited Edition" which basically comes with DLC. $100 will get you a Collector's edition with DLC, an art book, a soundtrack and a life-size replica Death's Mask.

One of these days I'll have my own place to nerdify my walls with stuff like the Death's Mask, but until then, nah. Those things all sound nice, but dammit, I still lament "making-of" DVDs.

I'm still wondering if I'll have the patience to be able to wait until the game releases for the Wii-U.

Just came by to post the same. That Death mask looks EXTREMELY tempting.

I might have to up my preorder to a collector's edition. My younger son would FREAK for that mask as a birthday present. I'd have to keep it secret for like six months though.

Want. Not sure about a 3 month preorder, though...

Australian retailers, get your sh*t together, and figure out who is taking my f*cking money for the Limited Collector's Edition with the half twist of lemon...

So, will this be any good?

(Sorry. Couldn't resist)

I'm looking forward to it. I loved the first one, and I went on blackout on this one after reading the Game Informer article on it. Looks likely to be just more Darksiders with a new skin, but I'm okay with that.

Box art!

Arthur Gies has some things to say about the game on Friday's Rebel FM.

"If you liked Darksiders, you'll probably really like Darksiders 2."

So we're back to the eternal question.

Can't we just let that frelling meme die?

Why does Box Art always look terrible this generation?

Seriously. The broken link icon does not make good box art.

And no, Garden Ninja, it will never die.

I'm currently playing through Darksiders now. This was less about the impending release of the sequel and more about picking up a game from my pile to play. I'm enjoying it. I love the art style and the zelda-like gameplay.

Really? I like the one posted above.

Eh, maybe part of my distaste is that it seems off-center to me, and that's just bugging the sh*t out of me.

Or the fact that the logo is just slapped in front of some artwork.

While remaining behind the horse's ears. Clearly this cover requires 3D Glasses for the full effect as intended by the artist.

I like the cover. So there.

According to the FaceStalk account (and the brand new shiny website) the game's been pushed back to August.

Speculation that it has something to do with the Wii U?

Actually, lemme rephrase.

Foolish hopes for the game being pushed back to sync up with a Wii-U launch date?

*Raises hand.*

You so silly. Wii U's not releasing in NA until November 18th (so says I and some other recent rumors)

Their Q&A on the website also says that what you hope for is absolutely not the case. Then again, they could just be blowing smoke.

I didn't look that closely at the website. I just don't want to be forced to wait until the Wii-U launch to play the game.
