The Playstation Vita Catch-All

After checking every shop in a 25 mile radius over the last few weeks, I finally found a 16gb memory card. I decided at the last moment not to buy it.

I could spend £40 on the card, but then I could spend the same amount on a game. I very rarely trade in. Yeah, I could put a load of games on that card, but it's pretty easy to swap games on and off the 4gb card have already. Since there is absolutely no advantage to digital downloads in terms of price, the only issue is transit, and the case I bought has space for 8 games.

Yeah. I think the case for giant memory cards isn't great. I have one now so that bell can't be unrung. But I don't see myself loading it up.

Indeed. I have most of my music on a 4GB iPod Nano so I'm looking forward to getting everything on my PSV's 16 GB card.

Just my PSP and PS1 games (once they work!) would fill up a 32GB card :).

Well, I might have to rethink my position again. Today, I decided to put Wipeout back on the card, so I transferred enough content onto my PC to make room on the card. Lo and behold, Wipeout was gone from my hard drive. I know it transferred across a couple of weeks ago, because I checked.

I suppose the key mistake is still the same; downloading the game rather than buying the card. Ah well, another 4 hour download then.

Ah, Rayman Origins is done, including the optional boss. I don't want to go back through every level to get 350 lums, nor do the speed runs, so back to Amazon this goes along with Uncharted.

Next up: Escape Plan.

I'm close to 100%ing Mutant Blobs Attack!, maybe another hour or so. Besides, being so close to trophy level 7 is a good incentive. After that, it's right back to speeding in MS RC.

I have just a few games left in disc form, don't know if I'll ever play them again though!

Phantasy Star Online 2 is going to be Free 2 Play.

The Vita and PC version will have cross platform play and it looks like they are making an iOS and Android version as well. F2P coming to handhelds is great and I hope the consoles follow suit next gen. I'm definitely going to give this game a shot on PC since I played a ton of PSO on Dreamcast. My Mag was awesome

Do we know for a fact that ps1 games will be available? I am giving my psp to my brother-in-law this weekend.

Sony has said on multiple occasions that they will add support for PS1 Classics, but they have not said when.

My eyes bleed when I look at polygonal Playstation 1 games.

Yeah I can't do it. I tried to play Metal Gear Solid after enjoying MGS 2 and I couldn't handle it.

Megaman Legends 2, Crash Team Racing, and a few others hold up pretty well.

Symphony of the Night, all the way.

I want to play through final fantasy 9 finally. Had it when I was younger and the 3rd disc would never read.

Double.

That was a damn good FF game. I think it ranks 3rd in terms of most time I put into it, beaten only by FF7 and FF6.

I still have the original PS1 game kicking around my closet somewhere. I bought it used at this small video game store. When I asked if they had the game, the two clerks looked over at each other. One of them started to laugh and the other looked like he just got punched in the stomach. Apparently they had some kind of store policy where after X amount of days, an employee could buy it.

I walked in on the last day

Damn, sucks to be that employee!

I still have my physical copy of it too. Sadly I lost the case, so it sits beneath the pile of PS3 games, surface down on a shelf. Thinking about it, that's probably not the best place to store a PS1 game given how notoriously finicky they are about being scratched, but I also have it on my PSP via Dracula X Chronicles so it's not a big deal. It's just too bad nobody outside of Japan ever got the Sega Saturn version of the game, with Maria playable and the new script.

My eyes bleed when looking at PSP games on an actual PSP. This last week I considered selling my PSP (spoiler, I did sell it) because of discussions about not letting "piles" of games fester. I wasn't going back from the Vita and I was enjoying Vita games for all their console-like glory (and wonderful games like Mutant Blobs Attack) and looking forward to future games. So I decided to sell my PSP stuff. First, though, I played the PSP for a couple of days to make sure I wouldn't regret that choice.

It's painful to look at PSP games now. They aren't quite as bad as PS1 games, but once you get used to the Vita those games look hella jaggy on the PSP.

They look hella jaggy on the Vita too. I bought Maverick Hunter X, because Mega Man X is one of the best Mega Man titles ever, and the total lack of AA sticks out like a giant sore thumb. It's still a great game, but you're right in that the PSP visuals just don't hold candle to the Vita.

I hate jaggies. I wish I could plug my GTX 570 into my consoles and handhelds to force 16XAF and 8XAA for amazing IQ.

Yeah. I was really enjoying it too. I have never played 6 either. I really need to. 7 is alright, I honestly liked 8 better even though I know it is heretical to think that.

I put about 150 hours into 7, not because I think it's better than any others, but because it was the only good PS1 game out at the time. When you're a high school sophomore, with more time on your hands than you know what to do with, that's kinda what happens.

This Mutant Blobs game sounds like something I should investigate. I'm half-way through Escape Plan, so might be wanting something soon.

In Metal Gear Solid the jaggies are so bad it looks like the walls are dancing

The main reason I want PS1 games for the Vita.

I bought FFIX at the weekend, completely forgetting that I can't install it on my Vita. That was a face palm moment.

Oh trust me, I put in a sad number of hours as well. I was in high school as well or so. How is escape plan? I loved mutant blobs.

C'mon iPhone, what's with the doubles?
