Great Big Tracts of Land, or How I Bought a Castle

Ok, someone else needs to get a castle so we can start calling this site "Gamers with Castles."

And please call one of the rooms "The Nathan Fillion."

This is 100% awesome.

Wow, just...wow. The mind reels at the possibility. Added this to the travel book for sure. And when I get to that certain age, I may try to persuade you to make a wing the first GWJ retirement castle.

Whoa. Congrats! That is truly an epic acquisition by any standards! Good luck on the closing!

Wow! I hope this works out for you guys!

I agree a GWJ S&T would be legendary!

Wenches. Lots of wenches.
Don't pull that, it's a trebuchet.

I hope that castle has good internet.

Man... is this thread ever a generator for sentences people didn't think they'd ever have reason to write.

*Note: Sarcasm. I don't care if it even has internet at all. It's a f*cking castle.

I think I'm having an awesome overload. This is just too good

Oh and if someone ever asks for your wife when she's out, you HAVE to answer with "I'm sorry, but the princess is in another castle." It's the law!

Teneman, does the castle have any secret rooms? Man, it's gotta have some secret rooms.

I think the only possible way this could be cooler would be if you were to buy a castle on top of a massive underground bunker of some kind, perhaps a missile silo.

No, no, no. See, the wife is the Queen. The two daughters, they're the princesses. And when the boys come to pick them up for a date, I now have a perfect answer!

It does. D'oh! Well, it did.

Hopefully your daughters will agree that anyone that doesn't get the joke isn't worth their time anyway.

Awesome silly purchase! Ohio isn't far from Maryland.....

This is pretty stupendous. Seems like Teneman should be changing his location...

I'm jealous. Very jealous. Well done, Teneman, that's all kinds of awesome!

As a tagline, I'd like to refer you 'Carpe Jugulum' by Terry Pratchett. From the Discworld Wiki: "It was so named Don'tgonearthe Castle as local people would warn travellers don't go near the castle and the old Count liked the increase in visitors who would turn up to see what the fuss was about."

Oh man, this is awesome! Congrats.

Congrats, Teneman. You're a true gentleman knight lord.

The crest on that website, however, is kind of disappointing. Must come up with a new one!

(I hope the uncouths here do not suggest any designs that involve fingers and butts).

That particular horse left the barn long, long ago.

I would love to attend a S&T in a freaking castle.

Congrats!

Three questions:
1. Do you need a battleaxe?
2. When do we start building the catapults?
3. Is there anything else to do there other than stay in your awesome castle?

That's awesome. Visiting Ohio just became more attractive. Try this on for size:

Why settle for an inn when you can stay in a castle?

I think we should do a Gwjer road trip to Ohio. We could make a trip north to Cedar Point and spend the night at the castle.

Are you going to change the names of the rooms? The Oogaba Suite has a nice ring to it.

Thanks! The website itself is pretty darn disappointing. In an it-makes-my-eyes-bleed sort of way. Definitely on the list of things to fix ASAP.

We already have the logo redesign under way in fact. The LogoMyWay site has a feature that lets people I invite rate the submissions, effectively acting as a focus group. I'll be dropping a link here shortly.

OK, I guess I'm going to have to be the one to ask...

What the hell is a castle doing in Ohio?

If you do a S&T there, is it ok if you only invite some, and another city of S&T people come an lay seige to your castle?

Have to have some way to protect ourselves against encroachment by the filthy Michiganders. Sure, it's further south than you'd think, but given how fast Toledo fell the last time around we figured we needed another line of defense.

The real irony there is that Ohio won the "war", but ended up with Toledo anyway.

There were no winners in that war. Michigan ended up with the Upper Penninsula.

I can't come up with a decent slogan, but you should definitely put up a big sign that perpetually says "002 Days since last Dragon attack".

Zounds, that is mind-blowingly cool. Good luck with the usual real estate transaction stuff: closing, dungeon inspection, ghost exorcisms, pest control for the rats in the walls, moat-digging, etc!

That is AWESOME. If I ever find myself in Ohio, I know where I'm going to stay!
