Just some good ol' American "backyard" fun.

Man, I love putting things in holes.

Beanbag (full of corn) => Hole

Hey Conejote, how did you ship em? Box stuffed with man-tears and paper? Styrofoam mini cooler? I'm trying to think of how I would do this...

The way I've shipped it in the past is to take a cardboard box, put some scrap acoustical foam I stole from the trash bin at work to cushion the top and bottom, wrap all the bottles with bubble wrap and put them in a sealed garbage bag. I've done this twice so far and haven't had any problems.

It just so happened that I had some purpose-made shipping material. I occasionally subscribe to a beer club that ships solely 750ml bottles, and they use thick cardboard inserts shaped specifically for that size bottles.

When I've shipped homebrew to competitions in the past, I wrapped each bottle in bubble wrap & duct tape, then packed the bottom, top and sides well with newspaper and used styrofoam peanuts to fill in any gaps.

Just shipped the package, oilypenguin! I sent a bunch; more that I initially thought. You're getting the best of what Maine has to offer for beer. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Beer is packaged and labeled and I will be dropping it off at FedEx tonight.

Thanks for this. While I didn't follow it to a T, I hadn't even considered packing to prevent leaking in case one does break- so, it was a timely thing to read.

Same here. I had everything stuffed in the box and was just about to tape it up, until I read into the whole spillage thing. I wisely took everything back out and lined the box with a new litter box liner.

For stuffing, I used a ton of old newspapers. Call me cheap, but after throwing out TONS of packing peanuts over my lifetime, I couldn't bring myself to spend money on those things. Due to the size of the box, the bottles were packed on their side, separated with thin cardboard.

Speaking of thin cardboard— the wine box the store gave me to ship with seemed quite thin. It was corrugated cardboard, but the really weak stuff. I scrapped that and ended up finding a used, but heftier box.

I mailed mine today. I'd be interested in hearing what shipping is costing people, just to see the spread. Mine was $19, which was a bit under what I expected I to cost.

You guys are making me nervous. Looking like a thursday ship for me.

Got all my stuff today. There were several new breweries available since the last time I went to the liquor store (we can buy beer at grocery stores). So several things that were new to me as well so double bonus!

I spent $16 or $18 bucks on shipping. I can't remember which.

Beer is all boxed up and will be shipped today @ lunch.

I hope to get this shipped out today.

Mailing mine out on Friday, I still have something I need to ... procure. ;D

$18 for shipping (via UPS). The woman ringing me up said that the postal service would've charged $40 for the same box.

Shoulda went to UPS but it's hell getting there. So I shipped USPS Priority - $32.00 with tracking. About as the much of the contents of the box but it will get there Friday/Saturday. I wasn't too keen on the thought of the beer sitting in a hot warehouses for days on end.

Beer procured. Just need to pack and get it to a UPS location. Hopefully by Friday.

Well, prepare to have Brouhaha make you feel inadequate, I certainly do.

More like brewhaha, amirite?

Hmmmmm... if you are giving till April 30th to have the packages shipped, is there room for another person? You could at least put me on standby in case anyone else shows interest. If things are all wrapped up, you can always add me to the future list for the next time you guys do this.

Tuffalo I'll be your Hucklebeery.

PM me and let me know what you might like from down Texas way.

I'm not a fan of super Hoppy beers but just about everything else is game.

Trying to find one more bottle for you, Trashie. Should ship Friday, though!

Did any of you print labels from home or work and have UPS pick up?

I bought an extra Allagash Black, which i'm enjoying right now.

+1

I printed my labels at home for FedEx and then just dropped them off at a store close to my house.
