The Playstation Vita Catch-All

I don't care if you guys play MH at PAX East, but hopefully I will have some scores to chase on SS: Delta soon.

PAX East? I'm talking about MiniPenCon 2012!

I won't be able to attend either of the events, MiniPenCon sounds cooler though.

Got my Delta code today. MotorStorm and SS: Delta at PAX East, my Vita is set!

No Monster Hunter? :(

Yeah, I'm going to skip it. It's $20, above my impulse purchase, and Unite is based on Tri, which I played a good amount of on Wii.

Actually, Unite is an expanded version of Monster Hunter Freedom 2. I the MHP3 is based on Tri, but I'm not sure. However, I'm certain that Unite is not based on Tri.

It's surprising to me that the game I've played most since buying my vita was Ys: Oath in Felghana....great little ARPG/Zelda-like. So far the only game I regret purchasing is MvC3....because I bought it digital only to discover that I do not enjoy fighters as much as I did 10 years ago. Oh well.

Thanks to Indy for the Super Stardust code!

Gravity Daze/Rush 2008 Concept Trailer

Haven't played many games in the past year or so but on a binge right now. Got a vita. Only playing motor storm right now. Psn ID: ringmar

For the record, Sony STILL hasn't solved my MLB 12 season pass glitch issue

I got maybe 10 emails sent and 10 received and I swear I hear the Benny Hill theme music playing when I read their answers.

It's getting THAT ridiculous

This game looks awesome. I can't wait until June 12th.

I'm really impressed with the battery management in this thing. I know that it may not give me that many hours of constant play, but for the way in which I am using it, it is great.

Just picking it up for ten minutes, or an ad break, a long lobby wait in Mass Effect 3 or whatever, then suspending it, and picking it up again later, I'm getting days between charge. A race on Wipeout or Motorstorm, a level of Mutant Blob, or a planet on Stardust, and then coming back to it half an hour later; I get a more satisfying pick up and play from the Vita than from any other portable device I've got.

I know that Nintendo's DSs have the same suspend function, but Sony really seem to have tried to get games that satisfy that niche with the games available at release. They are all meaty and satisfying games, immediately differentiating themselves from a lot of iOS releases, but the system makes it so easy to put them down and pick them up again.

Yes, this has basically been my experience, save for the times I play for more than a half hour when I'm playing something a little more involved.

I think I'm retreating to the PSP for a while. I started playing Dark Souls again as well as Mass Effect 2/3. Between that and goofing around with new iOS games I'm just not as interested in much on the Vita. The game I play most is FIFA. Otherwise when I play PSP games I find myself just using my PSP as it's lighter and easier to pack around.

I could go out and buy it right now.

but I won't... my Japanese isn't at the level I'd like it to be. An in-store demo did enough to confirm that.

What I would like is for Lumines to hurry up and come out in Japan already. Seriously. A mix of an 8GB stick and multiple PSN accounts means that I'm largely rolling with physical copies, and it seems a bit too ironic that I may have to import it.

Where's all the wipeout 2048 players! Friend me!
I need more people to which to compare my times. It's not a feature I thought I'd like, but it helps inspire me.
There's no way I'll be #1 in the leaderboards of any game ever, but within a smaller group of people it's fun.
I also have HD and fury, but haven't put much time into them, nor in twisted metal sadly, and yet I continue to buy games...

I don't get the whole leaderboards things. I've just never had any interest in them.

Oh, but of course you don't.

I've been managing well on my 4GB card that came with the system, but I also don't have any digital versions of the bigger retail titles. I've been keeping Mutant Blobs, MS RC, the AR games, two PSP games, demos when they come out, and a handful of podcasts on Vita. I've had to move a PSP game, or a bigger demo, when it gets full, but nothing unreasonable. Course, I'll eventually have to get something bigger as the choices increase, but I hope it's not before a nice memory sale.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

My favorite game of the year so far, MotorStorm RC, no doubt.

Caught red... fingered?

Well, I decided to share my woes with the world

Bummer. Hopefully this lights a fire under their ass and gets the ball rolling.

Yeah, that's partly why I did it but also because I want people to know they've f*cked up pretty bad

Nobody should EVER wait 3 weeks to enjoy features that should be included with the game in the first place

Has Sony told you why the proof you provided wasn't valid?

No, they sent me a pre-generated email so they didn't say what was missing. I thought my email had everything in it

My pic was a lil bit blurry but you could see everything they wanted (receipt, front and back of voucher)

What I did though in order to send just one picture along with my email is I folded the voucher so that they'd see it's an MLB12 voucher AND the key written on the back.

At this point my guess is that they're being assholes on purpose.

Gotta love anti-piracy measures.

It's not anti-piracy though, and that's the really upsetting part. This is all just a big squabble between game publishers and used game retailers, namely Gamestop. It's not meant to prevent piracy, it's meant to prevent used game sales, and the buyers of NEW games are the ones getting burned by it.

Online passes don't bother me, they're just a symptom. What bothers me is this whole situation. If Sony and Gamestop want to have it out, fine, that's their prerogative, but leave the legitimate paying customers out of it. Oh also, it's been proven time and again that trying to creative incentive to buy via punishment if you do not does not work. Don't try to get me to buy a copy new by punishing me for buying it used, do it some other way.

Anyway, I'm down to just Rayman on my Vita. Finished Uncharted twice, finished Lumines, still playing Hot Shots but not as religiously as I did a month ago, and burned out on Super Stardust. Next after Rayman is Escape Plan, then I'll probably check out a few PSP games while waiting for Gravity Rush.

I still need to finish uncharted and uncharted 3 actually.

I'm still torn on whether or not to keep Uncharted. I really enjoyed it, and I could see myself going back and playing it again. Definitely not on Crushing though, and I finished all the other trophies, so I'm weighing the $25 I could get from Amazon vs. the possibility of playing it again in the future. After all, I do only have 4 cartridge slots in my carrying case...

My wife expressed interest in playing it as well, so after she finishes, I'm going to trade it in.

Yeah. Like any other console I plan on playing games and keeping what I'm consistently playing and trading things in otherwise. In that vein I purchased a couple of games (Rayman, for example) that I should have bought on card. But I think from now on I just buy cards like any other console. See what sticks, etc. If I play something infrequently, but consistently enough (Lumines, Hot Shots Golf, FIFA) then I buy it digitally.

After checking every shop in a 25 mile radius over the last few weeks, I finally found a 16gb memory card. I decided at the last moment not to buy it.

I could spend £40 on the card, but then I could spend the same amount on a game. I very rarely trade in. Yeah, I could put a load of games on that card, but it's pretty easy to swap games on and off the 4gb card have already. Since there is absolutely no advantage to digital downloads in terms of price, the only issue is transit, and the case I bought has space for 8 games.
