All you have to do is color in that mural, McChuck, and you have the gaming mecca.

Also: What the hell is that urn sitting by your computer? I hope it's just tea, and not the e-bayed ashes of Gary Gygax.

I thought about coloring it in but like it black and white. And that's just my tea cup with the lid on. I'm drinking from it right now.

You waited until that chair arrived to post here, didn't you? Still has bubble wrap on it

That said - I'm coming to steal your stuff tonight, just so you know.

Not if I get there first. Even the people with dual monitors feel depressed right now.

Shuref00t you have brought my e-peen shame.
If only Dethroned and I didn't share the same chair related problems...

Hey Shuref00t, what seat is that anyway? If I can find a deal on a nice bucket maybe I'll just weld something up custom. Of course with the metal I have on hand it'll end up weighing a couple hundred pounds and being nearly immobile, but I could avoid that center post.

The update to my gaming space is largely complete, although there are still some stray wires and cables that I'd like to neaten up.

For comparison, here's the old setup.

For a second I thought your tower was the right hand support for your table, like the filing cabinet desks.

Haha... yup, I got the seat and built the base for it last weekend. Good eye, spotting the bubble wrap still around the reclining knob.

Thanks, guys!

I like a chair with some good wear on it!

Okay, rezzing the thread to ask for advice. I'm in the market for a new computer desk: L-shaped, glass tops, something 'modern' in style. I've found these two on Amazon that are in the ballpark, but I can't quite pull the trigger.

Z-Line Belaire

Walker Edison

Advice? Alternative suggestions? The town I'm in is lacking in furniture stores, and I'd rather order online than drive two hours to a proper city.

Thanks

Is it just me or in the majority of computer desk pictures is the keyboard on the side and the monitor in the corner, does anyone actually do this?

I don't know much about either of those brands, but I like the look of the Z-Line Belaire better. I love having a shelf on my desk. Also, think about where you'll put it and which way you want to face, as the keyboard tray is on the right side on the Belaire and the left side of the Edison.

I also think, from a style perspective, that the Z-Line has a less "industrial" look to it, which might look better depending on how the rest of your room looks.

The reviews on Amazon said that for at least one of them (I would have to check) you can attach the keyboard to either side. Thanks, though.

is there a way to link the image from google+? Here's some old, kinda crappy rez photos of the setup. epeen is directly related to number of monitors in eyefinity and their size.

Use the image tags: brackets around "img" and "/img" with the link in between.

I had a desk like that for quite some time. Very sturdy, and the black one looks really cool. They are a fantastic desk if you know your going to be moving from time to time ( college student) as it breaks down with an allen wrench with no problems.

Shoved into the corner of what was suppose to be temporary living arrangements (going on five years now) is my private shrine to geekdom that I spend far too much time worshiping in...

My chair is super classy, I know! That's comfy foam right there.

(There is a slight photoshop on the photo on my desk.)

I need a corner desk like that, tanstaafl.

It's about the only corner desk I've ever seen that is actually a corner desk, if that makes sense.

The other thing I like about it is where the PC sits. It's a bit hard to see in the photo, but the PC is on a raised shelf just below the monitor so you have full access to the drives and front-side connectors without having to crouch under the desk to get to them.

It came from Office Max several years ago; I don't know if they still carry it or not.

I had a desk similar to that with the raised monitor stand and the computer sitting right below. It did come in handy for accessing the drives and USB ports. I had to get rid of it though because I upgraded my monitor to a 27" and the monitor then sat a bit too high. I couldn't tilt my monitor down at all so when viewing the top of the large monitor the color wasn't right. Also my steering wheel wouldn't mount correctly with the beveled desk edge.

I have the same desk. Dania?

On your desk is a small pack of Kleenex tissues, and a bottle of Tobasco sauce.

I'm not even going to ask.

You're obviously mistaken about whose desk that is!

It's just basic ergonomics. Your neck should be twisted 90 degrees from its resting position to make sure you're paying attention.

So maybe this should go in the stupid purchases thread, but we bought a house! This is our nerd room.

That is pretty seriously awesome. Where did you get that staff!?

I especially like the gallery of GPUs on your wall. I usually just shove my old ones in a drawer.

Also, is that your headset glowing purple?
