Motorstorm RC dropped! WHOO!

It wouldnt show up in store, but I did a search and it did find it. Cool freebie. I'm having trouble driving the regular way, I guess its supposed to emulate using an RC controller, but my mind would not wrap around it very quickly. But enough of that, back to finishing work so I can play ME3.

So here's a question for my fellow owners. Every time I fire up my Vita, I see a Bluetooth symbol appear in the upper left next to the wi-fi symbol. There doesn't appear to be a way to disable Bluetooth that I can find but if it's on, I presume it's eating some battery. Is there anything that takes advantage of Bluetooth on the Vita right now?

Allegedly stereo A2DP Bluetooth headsets are supported.

In the Settings app, the Network area lets you toggle the Bluetooth, Wi-fi, and 3G radios. Turning off the 3G radio, though, leaves an annoying "No Signal" entry in the status area, even if you're connected to Wi-fi.

Posting from my new Vita. I only bought Uncharted so far. Probably get Super Stardust. Any other suggestions?

Hot Shots Golf, Lumines, and Escape Plan if you like Cut The Rope style puzzlers. Also don't forget to grab your free Motorstorm RC.

See, I'm not sure about Lumines. By all descriptions, I should love the game. Not sure what it is, but it doesn't seem to click. Granted, I never spent much time with it. I only had Lumines 2.

Okay, just had to reformat my freaking card! Every time it goes into standby it thinks that the memory card has become disconnected! Also, it seemed to go from standby to totally shutdown one time.
Downloading the Rayman demo for the second time, fun game, can't wait to get it on the PC and rescue that fairy some more.

I found an interesting item (for us programmers out there) somewhere in the Settings app are Intellectual Property Notices, here's a handy listhttp://www.scei.co.jp/psvita-license/.

I think it's safe to say I'm enjoying my free game. Stupid sleep getting in my way of beating more times! Hope the losers out there are enjoying my messages of encouragement. Time to compete.

I am also enjoying Motorstorm RC quite a bit. Thanks for the friendly trash talk in game. I can see myself playing this for a long time as long as there is friendly GWJ competition.

Go to Settings > Network > Bluetooth Settings and you can turn it off.

Don't know how I missed the Bluetooth setting the first few times but so I did. Thanks for pointing it out. Battery life is actually alright for me but hopefully this improves it some more.

Just wanted to toss out there that my PSN tag is also Obirano. I don't really have anyone on the list as I barely use my PS3.

I'm really enjoying Fifa, though with the caveat that I haven't played a Fifa game since the '09 version. This one is based on the '11 version, from what I've read. I've played somewhere around 50 matches on the Vita already (Be a player mode, or whatever it's called). Each one takes about 10-15 minutes at the default settings. Finished 1 complete season and I think I'm up to January of the 2nd season with a RW set up man.

Touch screen shooting is actually a nice addition (I turned off back touch though). Touch screen passing is also possible but I found it easier to use the buttons for the desired result.

I don't follow professional soccer or watch matches, so I don't know what the realism level is, or how accurately it reflects actual tactics. Corner kicks are hit or miss. If they connect with a player in front, it's a goal almost every time. Most times though, the defender or goalie intercepts.

AI defense can be pretty stifling most of the time. It doesn't seem possible to be a 1 man team, circle around defenders, get inside and score (like you might in hockey). In my games, scoring comes from either setting up a cross from the wings to a player in front, driving a ball through behind the defenders and getting a player in behind for a breakaway (more often than not, it's an offsides play), or the corner kick.

I have only played with Bari and my player is still pretty unskilled (you gain skills by completing certain feats, like complete a header goal or making a cross to the far post). Bari isn't exactly a powerhouse, and the announcers are pretty much ecstatic that my team is even in the top 12 for their division. So maybe the game plays differently with a different set of players with better skills? Don't know the answer to that. For me, difficulty is pretty much spot on.

Lumines was a system seller for me. I stop my self from playing the game for the sake of not burning out. I would recommended to anyone.

I just realized that I never posted in this thread with my PS-name or whatever it is called. I am atras126 on PSN, and I have already seen some scores in Motorcross RC to work against. Add me, give me more target numbers!

So, The Show looks and plays great. I almost missed my stop this morning. Downloaded Motorstorm as well but haven't given it a go yet. My PSN tag is Slumberland if anyone would like to add.

As for cases, I settled on Sony's carrying case. Open sides, but protects the system just fine in my map bag, and extends enough beyond the system's edges to protect it in a fall, it would seem. Plus, it stays attached when playing, which is key for me. I don't want to be taking it in and out of something. Sort of the classiest looking option as well, which ended up mattering in the final tally.

I bought Motorstorm (EU), but don't have enough space on my card for it. My PSN name is tanaraq.

I played a little bit of Motorstorm last night (hi MourningCoffee!). I love free things but I don't know how long I will be playing this game. I'm having a hard time getting used to the screwy driving model (even if it is realistic for RC cars, or whatever). And it's also not pretty to look at. The cars are all rendered at a couple millimeters on the Vita screen, and the courses are not very interesting to look at. I already have Wipeout for racing and scorechase; from my point of view about the only thing Motorstorm has on Wipeout is shorter loads.

Dunno though, maybe I'll get addicted, and one nice thing about a free game is there's lots of other people playing.

Yeah, The Show is pretty sweet. The cloud save stuff works well also.

That's good news, I guess? I don't know how well a remake of a PSP game on Vita comes across, though.

If it's HD and it has better online options, I'll be all for it. I was thinking it was the same version that the 3DS was getting, but I guess I'm wrong.

There was an HD edition of Monster Hunter Portable 3 on the PS3 in Japan; maybe they'll be using that version for the Vita?

Yeah MHP3 is the PSP update of MH3 from 2010.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the online won't be better than the PSP version's, because they didn't include it in the 3DS version (and yes, the 3DS's online structure is more serviceable than the Wii's, which is where this game originated).

This series would eat my life whole if they'd just consistently release it on consoles as well as handhelds and include online.

Played a bit of Uncharted during lunch. This device is quite impressive. I'm planning on picking up Hot Shots tonight and look forward to beating some scores. I ended up with the 8 gig card since I'm pretty cheap. Should be enough for the moment. I'm wanting to get a good fighting game, but not sure which one so far. Also, The Show interests me as I haven't played a baseball game in years.

Blazblue CS: Extend is the fighting game you want.

As well as Monster Hunter, play.com leaked preorders for a GTA game, Final Fantasy 0, and Tales of Innocence.

I bought that game w/ my launch device and in 18 months or so I might be ready to play with you.

Blazblue has quite a high learning curve, but eventually how it works will click and you'll find it incredibly rewarding. My advice - Pick two combos for a single character (I suggest Ragna, Jin, or Noel to start) and commit those to muscle memory, then just play a bunch of rounds and try to execute those combos. You'll rapidly get a feel for how to approach, how to keep pressure on, how to defend, etc. The challenges for each character are good for finding possible combos, but they don't do much to help you with how to actually win a round. Definitely go through the whole tutorial, and the intros for each character, if you haven't already.

PSN Gamers Choice Award winners were announced today. Some good stuff in there, including Chrono Trigger, Angry Birds (for the 2 people in the world who don't have it), and Dissidia 012 for 30% off (50% for PS+) this week.

Don't forget the free Motorstorm RC game!

I am David, destroyer of Motorstorm RC rankings.
