Mass Effect 3 Catch-All

I tried adding FilmGrain=True to the ME3 demo, and it didn't work. Didn't break anything at least.

Yep. The Alliance is the human fleet.

I've only played the demo, but I'm pretty sure there's no variation. They're not The Council, they're just some committee in humanity's military, as I understood it.

Thanks guys. I figured as much but wasn't sure. I'm playing an imported save from the 360 on my PC so I don't know how well it worked.

Emily Wong, you will be avenged!

Indeed she will. Indeed. She. Will.

However, I do also feel compelled to remind everyone of this germane information.

This doesn't feel right without my ME2 Shep

It sure feels good to be back in the Mass Effect universe. I was going to play multiplayer tonight, but the story just sucked me in. I'll try some multiplayer tomorrow.

Alienware is giving away free M90 Indra Sniper Rifle codes. They're limit, so I don't know how long they will last. There are 7,435 still available as I post.

PC only.

Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone else find any promo codes floating around out there?

Bwaaaaahhhhh. I told myself I wouldn't cave on this so soon after launch but...

Are the N7 edition weapons in the Arsenal Pack overpowered? I'm not keen on getting game breaking items.

Thanks!

Alienware has had some really good giveaways the last 6 months or so.

Down to about 6200 codes left for the Alienware sniper rifle.

I started with multiplayer because some nice GWJ people were around. How could I pass that up!

I also reaffirmed that I'm really bad at multiplayer. But I'm getting better.

I was unable to import my ME1 character's face (what a stupid thing for the dev not to implement!), but was able to recreate my Shepard's look with reasonable success.

Yeah, I ended up playing multiplayer a couple hours too.

It's a pretty interesting rifle and feels more like an assault rifle. I'm not sure how much I'll end up using it, but it is definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the heads up!

amazon says my copy is shipped. off for the next 3 days. score.

tagging for future

Jim Rossignol loves it. I'm stunned. With the direction of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect sequels, I thought for sure that Bioware was going to bottom out on this one.

The Chakram launcher from the Amalur demo is quite interesting too, where 'chakram' appears to be a sticky ME1 style grenade/disc which you charge up while aiming.

One thing is that it's a different studio, the other would be that they seemed to hit their stride with ME2, there was no "consolisation" that could be done as it was through-and-through a console game to start with, or any other thing people gripe about. Really it's following the pattern to finish off the story, so if you liked ME2 you'll like this.

Got one! Thanks for the heads up, MannishBoy. This site's awesome.

I was kind if disappointed when I couldnt switch genders after importing my character. I guess that makes sense though. I love the punch the sounds have in this game. It really makes the combat more fun.

The style of this game continues to impress and helps look last the dated engine and graphics. Can't wait to go home and play more to tonight.

Did you get it to work? I'd be curious to hear the steps you followed, because I can't get my ME2 360 save recognized.

I moved the save onto a USB thumb drive, used the XTAF utility to copy it to my PC, and the Modio program to extract the ME2 saves. Then I made a new folder for the saves "My Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Save", but it doesn't show up on the character import screen in ME3.

I downloaded somebody else's save, and that worked (sans the face), so maybe my save got corrupted in the process?

I'd also like to know if anyone DID manage to import their full ME2 arsenal. Or any of it. I'm getting conflicting reports on whether I even SHOULD have access to all my old guns or if importing just means they'll show up in stores or something.

I'm seeing the red cerberus armour in a store. I think only offers specific to ME3 are granted to you freely, everything else from ME2 must be just seeded in the world for you to find.

Just over 1,000 as of 8:30 EST.

Just out of interest, does anyone have any opinions on the From Ashes stuff yet, or is it too soon?

Lights fuse, runs away

So looks like things on the @AllianceNewsNetwork ... took a Wong turn.

Yeah, I just found the Red Dragon Armor in a shop so I guess that's WAI. Would be nice if I could buy back my old M-300...

Turns out multiplayer affects the ending. It seems if you don't play multi, you get a very bleak ending...

It is possible to get the best ending in single player without playing multiplayer, but it’s twice as hard.

I thought Bioware said as much a while ago. It's another factor to get one of the range of endings, if nothing else. I can see some people having a problem with it not being a pure singleplayer + a pure multiplayer game. Perhaps Bioware (or an enterprising third party) could add an option to manually set the galactic readiness.
