So it's working then - SK proxy = play ME3 right now?

Oh, here we go changing passwords and killing every program that isn't needed.

EDIT: Done and done. Followed the most popular post on that reddit thread, currently trying to decide if I want to change my vanguard or not. Hopefully this won't result in bad news and EA will allow it just like they did with BF3.

Wow that was easy. Game on!

Nothing works for me and I am getting increasingly angry.

Man, the Reaper invasion can't be that bad with the amount of make-overs FemShep is having in between the demo and various trailers.

Yeah, setting proxies kept giving me origin errors. I'll just wait for the intended release time then.

You know how you can get Kelly to feed your fish if you take her to dinner? Turns out Jack's a stylist.

So I reached my goal of getting to level 120 and then for fun I thought I would check the leader board, apparently I am 13th in Canada and 634 globally. I know it is a demo, but that still surprised me and made me do a happy dance. Until the other day I was at 65,000 something. This also tells me that I need to work on my essays and final assignment for my 400 level courses and play less Mass effect. OR this could mean I need to play more and rank higher...

I wonder how it ranks you AFTER you reach 120. Based on unlocks? Or money/exp earned?

BTW, gave you our Steam group Player of the Week award for pre-release. :D

Cool! Thanks for the pre-release award.

Loving it so far. Have minor complaints but I will keep those for a post down the line when the game has been officially out everywhere and I've played a lot more.

The SA forums have a quick how-to on activating the game right now for the digital distribution fetishists among y'all. Disclaimer: I haven't tested this myself, so use at your own risk.

Open internet explorer go to tools > internet options > connections > lan settings > click use proxy settings and paste this ip 211.110.204.36 with port set to 80. Hit apply and ok. Launch game through origin it will activate and open. Then go back and turn off that proxy.

Edit: In other news, the new Vanguard seems to be even more awesome and insane than the ME2 version.

Edit2: Holy crap, it totally went by me that imported level 30 Shepards from ME2 will start at level 30 (out of 60) in ME3 instead of at 1. Pro-tipp: use Gibbed's save editor to set it to 1 for the full level climb experience.

What's a Reaper? The ANN is reporting a massive Geth flagship in SoCal.

Yeah it's awesome. And I love starting as a badass. I am Commander Shepard (and this is my favorite store on the Citadel :D) after all. I should be awesome.

Makes me think I should have played my first run on insanity though instead of hardcore. It's laughably easy through the first couple areas so far.

While some of the marketing for the game has been questionable, I must say I find this (and the fake news blog) to be very cool ideas. Thanks for the heads up about the live tweeting of the invasion.

Do you stay level 30 if you import but change class?

I usually loathe twitter, but this is lots of fun. And keeping me from doing my work...

From the reports I have read yes. You get to pick the class of your import either way afaik and then start at level 30 with all the skill points you would have earned until then available (59 is what I read). Which isn't that many, since it now takes 21 points (iirc from the demo) to max out any skill.

Yup -- each level costs its number in points, as it did in ME2, so 21 to max any one skill to level 6 (as opposed to 10 points to get level 4 in ME2).

Mine imported to level 20, I guess on that character I wasn't at the ME2 cap of 30, so I assume it rounds down to the nearest 10.

Hmm, I was planning to grind out the last couple levels tonight so I could import a level 30 character, but I really don't want to start the game with a level 30 character. Being overpowered is so boring in this game. Maybe I'll just import what I have or start with insanity, or both.

Just use the latest Gibbed to set your Shepard to level 1, but keep all the other things to be imported into ME3. According to other sites, that'll have you starting out with a level 2 Shepard in ME3.

Does anyone want to comment on the multiplayer store? Is that the only way to unlock new stuff? I'm intrigued to say the least.

It's purely in-game currency, but it seems like something they could expand on. So long as the core weapons are there for everyone, if they have the weapon DLCs again, having them in single and multiplayer would be nice.

Called it.

The multiplayer store offers the recruit pack for 5k credits, the veteran pack for 20k credits or 80 bioware points, or the spectre pack for 60k credits or 160 bioware points. A nice little way to charge for accelerating progress.

And there's a BF3 soldier unlock for those with that, a male human soldier with a different power selection.

edit: Also, ignore what I said about my import character being L20, she's L30 with 20 points left to spend. My bad.

IT UNLOCKED! NO IDEA WHY IT WORKED NOW AND NOT ANY OTHER TIME BUT WHO CARES!

5am. Time to sleep, go to work, and then enjoy the final chapter for Jackman Shepard.

Someone at the BioWare forums has posted what all the armors will look like (contains spoilers) on a ME3 FemShep. Apparently all of the rare ME2 armors like Blood Dragon and Collectors are also transferring over.

Can I access the artbook and soundtrack now or do I have to wait until launch? I can't find where they downloaded.

edit: Derp. Found it.

Not looking at the spoiler stuff, but can you use the blood dragon and collector armor from ME2 in ME3 MP? I'd never use those in the storyline, but I'd totally use them in MP.

Is it pretty easy to use? I'm sure I'll find a way to screw up my file if possible.

What's the benefit of a Spectre Pack?

Worked for me, you don't even need to log out of Origin. So log in, enable the proxy, let the gmae do it's date check, disable the proxy, then play.

I would assume that just as the vet pack has better drop rates, a better credit to item quantity rates, and more potential items dropping compared to the recruit pack, the spectre pack probably is another step up in all three categories compared to the vet pack.

EDIT:

And for those who aren't playing the demo and who are curious as to the rates at which you earn credits in game:

- Playing a full 11 waves on bronze difficulty gives you about 18k credits, and takes maybe 20 minutes or so.
- Playing a full 11 waves on silver difficulty (which becomes manageable with folks about level 10 or higher who understand the game and who can work together reasonably well) earns you about 40k (maybe 44k?), and takes maybe 20 to 25 minutes.
- Not sure what the earnings are from gold difficulty, but I'd be willing to bet it's enough to buy a spectre pack or two.
- You earn credits on wave 3, 6, and 10, so you can get credits even if you don't finish all 11 waves.

For anyone still looking, it's in the /Bonus folder of your ME3 directory.

Also... reached the Citadel in my game...

Spoiler:

There's a SPECTRE shooting range! Very cool stuff. Nice to try out different weapons and mods. Three targets too, one shields, one armor, one health, to test stuff out on. Love it!

Yes. I switched from Soldier to Adept.

Still can't believe I was a soldier on my first ME2 run. How boring.

Well holy sh*t. I can play ME3.
