Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13

Lot's of vids from the lead designer coming out threw Operation Sports. (Demo out March 6th too)
Lot's of emphasis on gaining different types of 'pins' from accomplishments. One group has to do with folks who join a 'club'. This can be a made up club (eg. GWJ Duffers...Bashers...Gophers...etc), or pick a course name. Regardless, the club members individual accomplishments can help all club members gain bonuses with rewarded pins for play. Besides posting individual accomplishments by club members.

Anyway check out the videos at Operation Sports. Perhaps too, those interested can form up a club. And hopefully on-line affair will be smoothe enough for those of us to play each other for fun and fame.

As an aside it looks like this game will be total Kinect implementation. So that should be really fun too (although as I found out playing 12 with the PS 3 'Move' motion detector, you have to practice as much as in real life to get a 'feel' for the clubs).

Looking forward to trying out the Demo for this to see just how well the Kinect integration works.

I have it pre-ordered, so I will be interested in joining a club if someone creates one here.

I am 90% on board. I think the Country Club stuff looks pretty awesome.

I have bought every version of Tiger Woods since I can't remember when. But I played last years version so seldom (didn't even finish a season on solo play) that I actually think I'm gonna skip it this year and I feel okay with it. I haven't seen anything that would make me REALLY want to play this year's iteration.

I skipped last year's, because I felt like they really ruined the gameplay with the addition of the Caddy.

It looks like they brought TrueAim back, and added an Online Country Club feature that may even trump SSX's fantastic RiderNet. It feels like the upgrade to TW 11 is what I had hoped 12 would have been. So I am most likely in.

Demo is up and supposedly includes the Kinect functionality. Definitely going to try it out.

Thanks for the heads up!

Tried the Kinect Demo. Pretty cool. Seem's to be calibrated pretty well. Had trouble tho' with the full swing being represented when using driver. But irons and putter seemed to work well. As usual with Kinect (at least in my case), sometimes audio works, sometimes not. But the hand motion for getting around worked well. They offer 3 holes. 4,5 and 3 par. Graphics are gorgeous. More crisp then last year it seem's to me.

But really, just have to wait for game to really know. Looks promising tho'.

I found the menu navigation and shot aiming to be a little awkward. I'll give the demo a few more chances before I decide though.

I was actually tempted to pick Tiger 13 up. I liked the demo okay and the Kinect functionality is actually kinda cool, but wouldn't want to always play that way.

But then I saw a DLC pack of courses for $39. $39!!! That's $100 for the base game and a decent amount of courses.

I'll pass.

I decided to pick it up. After a couple rounds, I like the changes to the swing mechanic. Also the caddie thankfully can be not used at all. The expensive DLC will probably keep me away from adding courses unless there's a sale later. The Kinect controls were a little fun, but lacked the precision of a controller. I'll still play around with it more.

Well the game looks gorgeous. I'm liking the interface and Kinect seem's to work very well. Alittle to getting use to in some respects, but I'm sure it's just that, getting use to. I will leave the Kinect for 'friend groupings' and just use the controller for other things.

I still like how the 'clubhouse' stuff seems to be offering. Hopefully some of us and get into it and to how it really works. Looks like it could be fun.

Overall I'm happy with it thus far. Which is not very far at all. Maybe a half hour with the Kinect. An hour with playing (including how the menu system works not etc.). Look forward to giving it more time. And hopefully to hook up with some folks to play on-line.

How many courses come with just the basic game? There sure is an awful lot of Day 1 DLC with this one...

To try it out to see how it works. And those who are curious, I've created a Country Club.

Name: GWJ Stan Park CC
pwd: sandplug
difficulty: pro

I don't know much more about it but that you can join and we compete seperately and on-line between the members. Here's hoping it's some fun (and if I've not got it right, we can give this a go and restart once we get the hang of it. It doesn't appear to be a big deal, but maybe that's my
naivety about the whole thing:)

Started a couple tournaments. Accidentally made an overlap in testing it out. Anyway, a daily one
on Pebble Beach and a weekly one on the Augusta.

Will have to know who has 'collector's or not, so I know not to use a course not available to everyone.

Mean't to turn caddies off, but see that they are on automatically. I try and figure out how to take them off for the next ones.

I did rent this today. Has anyone gotten involved with the country club stuff? Anyone playing it at all?

See my last two posts above yours here...Join away. I tried to get a daily round today, but EA site was down. Will try again soon.

Gosh. Sorry no one wants to participate in 'Country Club'. Seem's fun and competitive (and I'm sure I'd be last in most tournaments, but it will be fun!). I'm getting the hang of it a bit better each time I go in. Right now only a few days left to finish 4 rounds of Augusta (I'll not set up weekly games till I know folks are around to play it). I have set-up a couple daily ones in hopes folks may yet want to participate.

If nothing else, I hope folks have picked the game up. Seem's fun and enjoyable to me thus far.

Well the Country Club is going really strong. Basically just me;)

Any it is kinda of cool if anyone what to take a looksee. You can play head-to-head with other members. Or play solo for tournaments that are set up. (which I do. So far I've had one weekly, a Masters tune up. The 3 dailys. Two coming up. I've played most :). You can also play other clubs. You get extra coins (currency) doing any of these. Club stats are kept etc.

All very well done.

I'm getting closer to being enabled. I was not impressed by the little time I put in with it during the early release, but it is getting rave impressions over at DSP.

I was hoping Swampy or Mr. Green would be interested. Maybe their interest's in golf gaming is waned.

I rented this one, but it just didn't grab me. I don't like that it doesn't have the percentages any longer. For me, that just made the game too difficult. I can't take my time as tempo in your swing means a lot too. That just took out too much that made the game enjoyable. Guess I'll stick with last year's version.

I can't really understand what you are referring to in both cases. But whatever, ymmv as in all things.

By the way, I signed up for for the GWJ CC. So that's two of us!

I was finally enabled. I've spent some time with it yesterday and today, and I am finding a lot to enjoy. It would be cool if we mustered up a few guys for the CC.

Picked this up, but haven't gotten past creating my golfer. Will sign up for the CC when I find the time to play again.

Glad to have you aboard. Feel free to set up some tournaments etc. One thing I'm miffed that that don't seem to offer is the scorecard being available at all times. Maybe it's just the CC tournaments. But I would of liked to see my card and yours for Crooked Stick, just to compare is we had the same bad holes etc. Let me know if I have just missed where to look for this.

I think the show up on regular play. Also you probably noticed, as I, that if our CC was more experienced they seem to offer big on-line tournament to play (Sawgrass the current one). Wasn't eligiable this time around.

Yea, Infyrnos, please join us for fun and games (and competition with ourselves and others. Lot's of cool things track and we can check out).

BTW, if anyone buys TW 13 used, I have a free Online Pass to offer up to the first non-grinder.

I rented the game on Friday and decided I wanted to buy it. I bought the online pass thinking I would pick it up used, and I wanted to check out the Country club and Play the Pros modes. Gamestop had no used copies, but it was on sale. So now I have the Online Pass from that.

Notice: Not that anyone evidently cares, but the, 'GWJ Stan Park CC' is gone. Or at least all players have left. It may still be open to folks that what to use it.

This is a beautiful game. I'm not too hot without some of the booster pins, but even playing on highest difficulty you can't but admire the game. I have some minor issues, but they hardly distract from the fun and beauty of this game.
(I've yet to try a on-line, head-to-head game, so no news on that front. I've been trying and hopefully can get some in. Not heard much about any issues tho').

Just picking this up again. 360. Gamer tag: Edgar Newt

Anybody still active and in a CC?
