SSX (2012) Catch-All

MisterStatic, for the first question, you have to keep tricking after you have Tricky or Super Tricky activated to keep it going. If you look at the word Tricky at the bottom of the screen, you'll see a set of 3 arrows on either side of it that serve as a visual countdown to losing Tricky status. Bigger tricks slow the countdown, but conversely, a quick jump/spin on flat terrain can be enough to keep the meter charged until you hit a jump.

Yeah, for the most part I am tracking that. I just don't know how rickyyo is doing it while avoiding kickers and rails. Just quick tricks off small jumps?

Oh I answered it incorrectly.... Yeah it has to do with the physics engine.... This game still has some parts from the original games.... You accel much faster riding down the cliff of the kicker. So, I do just enough trick to get that gold boost and hit the boost going down the cliff.

In essence it is all timing of the jump.

The initial post I made was incorrect.

Congrats, man.

Though I do think the leader should remain so until their time is beaten!

( )

On a related note, I'm really loving the trails other riders leave behind. The blue trail is a replay of the rival directly ahead of you on the leaderboards. The gold is a pre-programmed run of the A.I. who the devs. earned a minimum Gold time/score with. Not sure about the rest (live players? replays of people on your Friends List?). Either way, it's a great learning tool and as mentioned above immersive as heck when you consider you're seeing runs from your buds.

Oh I did legit beat your time I reposted after matching it... a 2:04.76.

KHAAN!

I'm thinking of taking rickyyo off my list...

There is that filter system...

Already seeing Female Doggoing out there about difficulty and frustration in reviews/comments.

That makes me even more excited. Imagine, video games actually audacious enough to challenge you.

Happy SSX day! Mine is out for delivery at 5:43 AM today.

You demo guys are ahead of me in terms of ability, but I hope to close that gap soon.

Woot! Ditto here.

Super excited to hit the slopes tonight!

I care very little for most games journalism, but one of the few places to which I do still listen, Eurogamer, gave it a 9/10. Not bad.

I'm going to dive into World Tour mode (single-player campaign) first as I understand the it ramps the difficulty quite nicely as you learn the ropes.

Also serves to unlock the characters, I believe.

My copy is out for delivery as well! Feel free to add me - XBL same as forum name.

I plan to do the same, Aaron D. As stoked as I am for the multiplayer score chasing and competing, I tend to start with unlocking content via single player.

Do your career-mode scores still apply for the multiplayer stuff? Seems like they should, unless there's some odd conditions put on that particular race.

Slippy, got you in the OP.

Challenge? Doesn't compute.

Edit: Wow. Talk about a terrible review. It's like he read the back of the box and made a video.

Pretty much. I do enjoy most of IGN's personalities, and their podcasts, but they really do need to hire a copy editor above the age of 14.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to rag on the entire site, but that was clearly not one of their better reviewers. And he totally sounded like he was 12.

Do they even have copy editors? I know 1up got rid of their copy editors when UGO took over. I imagine IGN is big enough to afford them. Anyway, probably not the proper place for that discussion.

Add garion333 to the PS3 list. I'm gonna dump Amalur and pick this up. I'll play Amalur later on the pc.

Agreed. If anything I felt the demo was a little too forgiving. I'm excited to try survival... Want to break out that wingsuit! Alas, I will have to wait until late tonight. Stupid adult responsibilities... Always getting in the way!

Its all about the shotgun approach... Lots of content with low quality. Then again I haven't been to IGN.com in many years. I managed to stick with just giantbomb for the past few. I used to read Kotaku until some sketchy stuff happened. Hilariously enough I can't remember what happened that made me leave.

Anyways I have tons of college coursework stuff and a major test tomorrow in computer architecture. So, I might log on to do what people already planned to do. Play singleplayer and unlock the characters.... Even though Zoe is my favorite character it seems like they want you to level them all up this time cause of character bonuses.

Sounded to rammed together... And I didn't feel like rewriting it.
Cause it is voiced by bif naked which I thought was a hilarious name at the time I was in middle school. Also, her music is great and was featured in the SSX games prior to this one with the exception being SSX on Tour.

Gotcha.

Congrats PS3 players, you know have a full half-dozen friends to compare scores with!

That's about the extent of my friends list too. lol

And because Murphy is an {REDACTED} and a {REDACTED}, something just hit the fan here at work that may splatter out for months.

I'm going to pick up my copy anyways, but I don't know how much time I'll have until the weekend.

I'm in and shredding. If you want to call it that. No one on my friends ist has scores yet, so it is lonely.

You won't be lonely tonight!

Just picked up my copy from Walmart. Tried to support my local video game store but when I stopped in and asked them if they had it the owner looked at me dumbfounded. He had never heard of the game and apparently does not keep up on new releases. Don't think they are going to be in business long. I know this isn't the biggest game in the world and all but I would think the owner of such a business would have some eye on new releases. Can't wait to get home from work tonight and play.

It's my experience here - even with the local chains....

Anyway, i just wanted to stop by and say i hate all of your privileged american asses

UPS just dropped it off. I was surprised to see that there wasn't any game instruction pamphlet inside :\

Also, I see if I want to do online I have to register with EA, but how will that work if my son or daughter also want to play online with their own xbox live account?

Your EA account is tied to your gamertag.

Which is a bad thing in my case since my kids have their own gamertags
