Syndicate Catch-All

Holy - some of those co-op boss fights are really, really hard if you cannot communicate with your team.
Especially if you are expected to take down multiple people at the same time.

I hope that by some miracle SBZ will be able to support us with more mission/content types in the future.
Really digging the teamplay in that setting and fighting on the good old oil rig from the classic syndicate does conjure up that fuzzy warm nostalgia feel.

For Xbox users, become Xbox friends with me or Parallax, then login to Syndicate co-op. That will "register" you as a co-op player and we can choose your name from our friends list in the syndicate menus and then send you an invite to StanliTech. Then you'll be able to send invites too.

Just friended both of you and would appreciate an add (tag is, predictably enough, ianunderhill). Looking forward to some awesome co-op!

Nice to see this game getting more love than I expected. If anyone wants me to add clan info/links/whatever to the OP, send me a PM with details. My only hesitation about picking up this game is my connection will probably be too laggy. Tried the PS3 demo and people weren't rubber banding, they were teleporting.

With more people in your syndicate you get a bonus to xp gain, even if you're not with your fellows. The bigger the syndicate, the bigger the boost.

Oh yeah, I'm gainscwa on xbla.

Thanks for that advice! I'm just finishing up an episode of Top Gear and I'll be on.

The tv has been taken from me for some bad movie therapy. It's okay, it is sorely needed. I will get on later.

Parallax is a board member and can send invites now. Once ianunderhill accepts I will promote him too.

Just joined up. Sorry for the delay in acceptance, my evening was occupied by crap movies and casual gaming.

Sent you a FR to get in the Syndicate, gains.

I'll be on Live for the next couple of hours, still looking to get some co-op in. Even if you see me in another game, fire me a message and we'll start something up.

Come join StanliTech!

Benefits include:

- World travel. See exotic locales!
- Mass murder and mayhem.
- 401k.
- Insurance, including dental and vision.
- Comp'd expenses (alcohol excluded).

Chairman_Mao, since there are some hoops to go through to join the syndicates, I thought it would be valuable to have that information in the OP. Something like this:

Xbox 360 - Stanlitech: Friend gainscwa or PXAbstraction, then login to Syndicate co-op. It will register you as a Syndicate co-op player, and they will be able to send you a syndicate invite.

PC - GWJ_Industries: Send a friend request in-game from the co-op menu to RebelBlob, kingschiebi, or socialchameleon. After they accept your request, they will be able to send you an invite to the syndicate.

PS3: Any goodjer syndicates here?

Not that anyone really cares, but I finished the single-player campaign. It was competent, but pretty by-the-numbers in both gameplay and story. But the co-op really saves the game, I am really enjoying it. Compared to the gameplay in the Mass Effect 3 demo, I like Syndicate co-op more. I haven't even had a chance to play with goodjers yet, but the pub play has been really good.

I really want to play more of this during the week. Played two player this afternoon and damn if we didn't have a lot of fun. I have a service call after work tomorrow that could keep me out late but if people are on Live tomorrow and want to play more, send me a message if you see me. I may be in Alan Wake's American Nightmare or something else but invite me anyway, I'll happily switch right over to Syndicate. StanliTech has a world to dominate!

Glad to see other folks geared up for some co-op! I've got a busy day tomorrow but I'm extremely likely to be around Tuesday and Friday. Maybe in between those too but I'm not sure. The prospect of playing with a good group of agents twisted my arm enough to where I did order myself a refurbished X11 headset, which should make things easier; apologies in advance for annoying, counter-productive radio silence until said item arrives.

Eh, it's not a game where verbal communication is a huge deal as long as everyone sticks to the basics of healing, distracting the bosses, etc. A lot like Monster Hunter Tri online. It's part of the reason public games work out better than expected. Voice does help some, though.

Thinking about it more broadly, I prefer this kind of co-op to something like, say, MMO style co-op. It measures your ability to play the basic team game well, not highly specific, one-time tactics. Basketball vs. Football.

Yes, which was why I spent $35 on a reasonably acceptable non-knockout of a device. I've jumped in on some public co-op, and I noted a few instances where it would have been helpful though not in a game-changing sort of way. Having it there seems just useful enough to warrant the minor expense. I'm just being cordial above; time and energy will be the thing that prevents me from playing in the interim, not a lack of cheapish gadgetry.

done

In case anybody still considers 360 vs PS3 or PC: Eurogamer ran digital foundry's system face-off.

Will try to join the PC Syndicate tonight when I come home from work. Playing BF3 on US Servers worked surprisingly well, so there is a little hope that this might work out, too.

Ianunderhill has also been elected to the StanliTech Board of Directors (after the other candidates for the position were killed in that tragic, tragic VTOL crash.) This means he too many invite players to the Syndicate, so friend him up as well.

My obnoxious Monday evening schedule means I'm too busy running gray ops in Denmark . . . I mean, singing with the community choir to get on co-op until late, so you may get a more immediate response from the other board members.

I never had a lot of trouble playing on US servers for pretty much any game.
Syndicate ran fine for me and only locked up once during the campaign - so you should be good.

Glad to hear it. First game I tried in over a decade was BF3 which worked fine, so I think I'll be ok!

Sent my friend requests via the game to kingschiebi and RebelBlob! I think my Origin Account should also be something like MEAT3R!

Just bought this after watching a few video reviews and reading all the raves about co-op. Origin id: shonuff27.

Good playing with you tonight, I don't know if you were trying to use the in-game comms or not, I hope you didn't think I was being rude. It was frustrating not being able to communicate, and sorry I bailed on that game with you and we couldn't reconnect afterwords.

I can't use the in-game system at all, it causes the game to crash. If anyone sees me playing co-op, I'm usually in the Syndicate Vent channel as well.

Some things I've noticed while playing. It is really important to realize that once you start a breach, you don't have to stay close. So in sticky situations where you need to reboot someone you can dash in close, start the breach, and run away without interrupting it. Same things with UAVs or breaching enemies. The other thing is that if you can, back up people who are ripping chips by healing them. It is pretty hard to get past some of the co-op missions where you face multiple enemy agents at the same time if your team doesn't realize this.

Hrm...I'd picked up on the latter very quickly (almost reflixively, in fact), but the former is an incredibly useful point. Duly noted and many thanks!

Also from the tips department, use your apps frequently (except heals maybe) as it makes no sense to save them up for single enemies in most cases.
That also makes support apps like battery much more useful.

If you have trouble taking down enemy agents, keep in mind that you can breach their chips instead of ripping them out from afar,
but you must have the breach app selected for that. It is usually the quickest way of eliminating an enemy agent (given that everybody breaches) and is even more useful if you are not on a full team or just want to take down the first 1 or 2 agents to stabilize the situation.

So, a group up for hitting 360 co-op tonight?

I'm down, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Working at 6:30 tomorrow, though, so not too late.

I'm down. When, roughly?

The only things I have to do when I get home is make dinner and do my hour of treadmill at some point. But I can do that earlier or later depending on what works for people. Is say 9pm too late?

9pm eastern? Hey, works for me.

I think I'm good for 9PM EST too. See you then!
