Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

We ordered the other one from Think Geek for my parents. Their youngest cat goes absolutely nuts over it. The two older ones just walk over and knock it down.

Well, I've already dumped about $65 into a unofficial copy of the boardgame Dune. I'm probably going to spend another $60 or so on wooden disks and paint along with some book binding tape. $65 is prints of the cards and poster of the map which I still need to mount. There are also the manual, army pieces, combat wheels, and screens. And then I'll probably buy sleeves, because, you know, those are required!

Here is a copy of what the final version should look like and a link to the required files to make a copy,

I don't even have 5 other people to play with and the game takes 1 - 6 hours to play. I'll have to work on that.

Don't feel bad! I bought 3 sets of Munchkin cards before even thinking about who to play with. I've played once since I bought them about 2 years ago.

Been looking for something like this for awhile since I loved the movie.

Found these guys in the used bin at my FLGS. For $13 for both who could say no?

Love that album.

I nabbed the 1,500 piece Ultimate Collector Y-Wing set back in '04 for the reasonable MSRP of $120. It's still unopened.

But I didn't realize that the UC X-Wing came out in 2000. Now the lowest price starts at $500 for an assembled kit and averages $1,000 for an unopened copy!

I understand why Legos are popular but not why something like that would fetch a 1000 bucks

Same reason any collector's item does.

I'm a collector myself and while I understand plenty of things, I just don't get the collector's appeal for Legos.

I think it's because of my (false) belief that you could just take a different bag of generic Legos and whip one up yourself. I know it's not the case because of unique & custom pieces but still.

I keep forgetting to take a picture, so here's an image ripped from somewhere else...

It is freakin' amazing. Not only that, we went to a home show this weekend and bought two extra pitchers.

I got my hands on one yesterday and I'm seriously considering a Vita purchase. I'm going to go with a wi-fi only model with a 32GB card, the only question is when it would fit into my budget.

That's what I did; if I desperately need 3g, I can set up a hotspot with my phone, anyhow.

Many years after my original lust ignited. Many moons of squirreling away money, pining for the space to put it. We just bought a house large enough to contain the majesty of one of these babies, so I pulled the trigger this weekend:

I've been working with my Geek Chic "Valet" to customize the hell out of it.

Here's a smaller version, but in Walnut (which is what I ordered) and showing off the cup holders, etc.

Beautiful :')

Ooh! We've been lusting after those since seeing them in person at PAX last year.

OMG! SO JEALOUS OF YOU HEDGEWIZARD!

If I ever get to fulfill my ambition of learning to build stuff with wood, building one of those will be my main goal with that particular hobby.

Now that's a swank table.

Lockpicks and a book on lock picking.

I have been searching for resonably priced Civil Defense geiger counters CDV-715 and CDV-700 to make a lamp. I need to replace the one I made and gave to Vector.

Since the incident in Japan the price of these things have gone up! They used to be $15 and now average $50.

I found a guy in washington state selling broken CDV-715's for $5 and CDV-700 for $25. Naturally I did what anyone would do and bought $50 worth (5 CDV-715's, 1-CDV-700). I am a sucker when it comes to a good deal.

Say... anyone in the market for a geiger counter lamp?

Oh, what good updates.
Gaming table, and some very Vault 13 decor.

I am kicking it with style this February apparently. Here's my two purchases of the month. Sunnies are prescription - getting prepped for outdoor training now the days are getting longer.

So when do I get invited over to use it?

Hmm, table time for R8 wheel time? Because I can go out to the workshop and come up with something if so.
