East Bay Pinball Slap & Tickle: Date Change: Wed, Feb 29, 6PM!

Howdy folks,

I'm proposing a 6PM at Pacific Pinball in Alameda next Thursday night. We'll play for a bit, head to the crappy bar down the street for crappy burgers and good beer, and then come back and play till they close at 9. I'll try and get there as early as I can to play more, but 6 is a good target for folks.

Here's directions: http://pacificpinball.org/visit/gett...

I know it's a major pain for those folks on the other side of SF, but hey, it's pinball!

Thursday pinball? I think I can make it.

Get a sitter! Bring the Mrs.!

We're talking March 1, right?

Yup, March 1. I'll be there!

Pneuman and I went there on our San Francisco visit! Its a great fun place and the guy totally loves his machines.
There is the Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge just a few streets away that we didn't make it to but apparently is awesome for drinks

The only problem is that Pac Pinball closes at 9. Maybe we go there AFTER it closes.

Bumping this. Maybe our Bay Area friends will consider joining us?

Tomorrow or the 29th?

The wife and I just went on Sunday =)

The Fireside is just across the street. They have new ownership and the owner is a really cool lady who is into local and micro distilleries. She has some fantastic pear, apricot and blackberries liqueurs. (I'm sure there are more. We really liked everything we sampled!)

Wow thats awesome news Fang,

And we mean March 1st, as in, the date in the thread title (grin).

I, er, um, knew that... just testing!

Any food there? Even just snackie stuff?

No but you can bring in outside food. Our favorite thing to do is get food from the great taqueria 2 doors down and bring it in.

1400 has finally opened. Its down the street a block and a half and has good drinks and decent food.

I will try to come. I've lived in Oakland for 5 years and still haven't gone there yet.

You totally should Rob. The place is Rad.

Ooh! Yes! I think I can make it!

Question: would I be better driving from downtown SF (I live on Nob Hill) or just taking BART? If I drive, I'm happy to take folks with me and drop off anywhere in the general SF area afterwards. But I fear the commuting-monsters.

Driving is much more convenient. BART requires busses/cabs/etc from & to the Bart station in Oakland.

I BART and Bus, and it's pretty simple. I suppose if there's no traffic, its not hard to find parking.

Any objections to moving this to Wednesday? I just had a conflict pop up. So that would be Wed February 29th? Same plan?

Wednesday is fine by me...

Still in.

Nooooooooo!

Wednesday is a no go for me =(

<--- Sad panda

We should do dinner sometime. Nicole and I can come down to you, or maybe we can all hit some place in Berkeley.

Anyway. back to pinball and how badly I'll crush Hedge's Fireball score.

We haven't been to Berkeley in a while. The wife loves the restaurant La Med. We can hit it up this weekend or next thursday or friday. Does that work for you? We haven't been to Zach's in a while either.

My wife is free on wednesday. I'll keep her up to date on the plans. She likes the pinball museum so she might join you guys.

Hey All. Just happened upon this site and thread. (This site looks kickass...). Hope this isn't seen as spam but since y'all seem to be interested in pinball...

I run pinball tournaments around the bay area. On Wednesday 2/29 we're holding a launch party for the newest pinball game, AC/DC, at Vitus, 201 Broadway in Oakland, about a 10 minute walk from 12th street BART if you live in SF.

There will be a $5 tournament, all money paid back to winners, and some raffle prizes.

If you're not that good or want to learn some new skills, we'll pair you up with a "good" player for a free pinball lesson on one of the 5 casual-play games: Twilight Zone, Elvira Scared Stiff, The Getaway, Medieval Madness and Dracula. Games are very well maintained by the owner and all games are set for 4 games/$2.

Hope some of you can make it. If you're interested in pinball and want to find out about other local events, leagues, etc. I post them on my site: http://pinballbayarea.wordpress.com

Thanks, and hope to see some of you there!!

Hrmm. Seems like a good post-PacPinball destination!

So, sorry Fang, but Thursday's now a total washout for me, so I at least will be heading there wednesday.

I couldn't make it on Thursday, but I can on Wednesday! I'll finally be able to join you steel ballers.

The wife is interested. We might cruise over after work and bring my kid. I don't think he's had a chance to play any real Pinball, just yet.

Unfortunately, I can't make this round. Have fun and please have a Glenlivet or a Jameson in my absence!

No!

Wednesday is a little dodgier for me but I will try my best to make it.
