NCAA12 GWJ2STAR -- Bowls: Leroy's Shame

CMU fends off EMU. EMU just kept coming back.

So after replaying the game since the last one froze on me. Western Michigan shutout NIU 52-0. My defense shoed up to play today holding NIU to -10 yards of offense and 0 first downs. NIU's QB went 4-15 for 7 yards with one pick six and was sacked 6 times. Rushing wise NIU's RB ran the ball 10 times for 5 yards. My offense came through all game my QB going 12-18 for 282 yards 4 TD's but was sacked 4 times Rushing wise Drake touched the ball 29 times for 181 yards and 1 score plus had 79 yard screen pass for a score.

I am the last one to play in Week 8. I am home sick today, and really not feeling up to playing. If I feel better later, I will try to get my game in.

Firesloth: League thread = Week 8.

I'll change the thread title when you pull up your skirt and play, sick boy.

Nice Firesloth, I LOL'ed. At least you are not like my co-workers, who are all accusing me of going to the Giants parade. My daughter hasn't pooped this much all week.

Ready 2 Roll.

This is your fault? Thanks a bunch BB! I haven't had a solid BM in over 48 hours. #toomuchinfo #happy2share

Hopping on now. Sorry for the delay!

I blame Willie. He was talking about his connection problems with Zell at work and I got it confused with this league.

Welcome to Week 9!

Big win for WMU over EMU. Final score was 41-22. I really under estimated EMU's defense and offense to start the game. On defense they were able to get 6 sacks and shut my offense down early in the game. But late in the second quarter my offense was able to break out and put some points on te board. My QB went 14-26 for 264 yards and 3 TD's and onc again Drake touched the ball 24 time for 207 yards on the ground including a 72 yard TD. My defense after the first quarter was able to settle down and get some pressure on EMU's QB forced a fumble and got a few sacks and besides a big play here or there EMU's offense didn't really do much.

I hate this game sometimes. I scored a TD on the first drive. After shutting down Ohio, I got the ball back and drove down to their 13 yard line. Then my QB was injured, out for the game. My backup was...well, largely awful. He badly underthrew his second pass of the game resulting in a pick.

As the half ended with me up 7-3, I thought "Well, at least my defense is holding." Then their HB ran for about 200 yards in the second half after gaining only about 20 in the first.

After that opening drive, I didn't score again until early in the 4th. Then not again until just under 2:00 left.

I scored two quick TDs late in the game (after causing a fumble by Ohio), but they scored as well.

What really ticks me off is that I had 3 big kickoff returns, 2 of them during the last 3 minutes, called back for holding or clipping. One of those late-game kickoff returns was a TD before being called back.

So, CSU loses to Ohio 38-24 or something like that. Even though I was able to score 17 points in the 4th, Ohio scored 21.

I had a game like that last night in my offline dynasty. I ended up winning in triple OT. Stupid Penn State.

Kush, you're the only game left.

Also, Bill Bonney -- you need to talk to the guy who is writing the headlines for the dynasty, as the lead was:

"SLIDING. Winning is something that the 3-5 Owls are not accustomed to."

Ouch. I feel your pain. The loss this week was painful.

I really am slacking, I used to have a clean track record of not being the last, now look at me!

I'm going to do recruiting during the day, and I will try to knock off Bowling Green tonight.

Rice is awful for a 2 star team, but I like the challenge. Its no fun if all the games were easy. The defense can't tackle anybody.

Temple is now on a 4-game winning streak, after starting the season (0-5), they knock off Bowling Green 30-17.

Roll on playah, roll on.

Firesloth...it's that time of year.

TEMPLE GETS A RECRUIT!!! TEMPLE GETS A RECRUIT!!!

SOMEONE WANTS TO PLAY FOR US!!!!!

I want everyone to recognize the brilliance of my recruiting: the Colorado St. Rams have landed the OLB Rocky Lamb.

Also, I thought my team had such great names with guys like Momo Thomas, TJ and Bobby Borcky, and Pete Kontodiakos. Then I saw Central Michigan's Zurlon Tipton. What a great name!!

Big Z is a solid guy

Temple recruiting completed for the week, FYI.

Ouch....I have to play the razorbacks? Who thought that was a good idea?

Another instant classic. CSU downs CMU in OT. For whatever reason, my QB forgot how to throw a football in the fourth quarter and OT. Easy throws became not easy throws. And apparently my corners don't understand man coverage no press......

Good game, Leroy. There were some great plays back and forth in this game.

The *3* INTs I threw were painful. The first one was just dumb. I had a bubble screen and thought the CB wouldn't get there in time. Stupid Cover 2 (probably). The second one on the screen pass...wow. My QB REALLY missed the target on that one. I was still in my backpedal because of the pressure, but that was just plain awful. That last one...my TE didn't even react to the fact that I purposefully threw the ball toward the center of the field. He had the inside position on the safety. He should have used that big, dumb body to block your guy out and go to get the damned ball. But, your safety is a good one, and he just ran right around the TE. I thought that was the end of the game, in all honesty.

Both HBs had great long runs. I had my defense so screwed up on that long counter of yours. I have to say that my favorite play was an out and up for a long TD pass that I only thought to look at just as the play was snapped.

One thing that was curious: you had an incomplete pass with a bit over 2:00 left. I didn't call a time out, because I figured that would stop the clock. However, for some reason it didn't. In retrospect, it worked out okay, but I didn't understand why the clock was still running.

I've noticed weird stuff like that too. Clock not running when it should, running when it shouldn't.

I should have my recruiting done after The Walking Dead

With our game out of the way, there are only two left in this week. Lots of byes.

EDIT: By the way, Bill Bonney, please kick Ohio's butt for me. I'm still smarting from that loss to them. Ugh.
