I also signed up. Here is my link if people are still looking for invites.

Invites sent to Podunk, Wipeout, and Hanta. All are gone.

So do they also get 3 invites, or is it restricted to the one chosen? If so, I'd like one please.

I don't like it either, but I guess it's not too big of a deal since it's going to be FtP. I used Tkyl's link. Here's mine.

What the heck, here is my link.

Here's mine for public consumption: https://playhawken.com/?ref=6gyd8x3i

The only link actually needed is playhawken.com . All these referral links aren't necessary to sign up for the beta.

BUT WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE SURPRISE IS FOR HITTING A CERTAIN NUMBER OF REFERRALS!

There's no actual "invite" system--it's all just marketing.

A NEW SCREENSHOT

I WANT THAT SCREENSHOT DAMMIT!!!!!

Me too!

There's a lot of potentially quality F2P stuff in areas outside of the typical MMO coming this year. This, Tribes Ascend, Blacklight Retribution, Planetside, Firefall, Warface, etc.

I think I know what you're trying to say, but I have a hard time hearing you over this: https://www.playhawken.com/?ref=6l1fj0b

Hey, look! I have a shiny cool link too.

I just need one more referral https://playhawken.com/?ref=g5tgeac3

And this page is exactly why I loathe this form of marketing. T_T;;;

Now you need none. This had better be worth it: (I'm not sure what this or it is)

The only benefit out of getting referrals is that you can reserve your in game name ahead of time if you get 3 referrals. Not worth all the spam.

Thanks Mrtomaytohead!

I could use some referrals too. http://t.co/1oWqyvwV

That's why I'm not sure what this or it is. Because that's surely not worth it. Nobody bothers to misspell my name like I do.

Now, if I could just get in to the Firefall beta...

Me too. It's obnoxious and rude.

I just need one more person to use my referral link, if such a person is out there: https://www.playhawken.com/?ref=6l1fj0b

Damn, they just recieved 10 MILLION dollars from Meteor Entertainment who also invested in LoL. So expect the same free to play model with this.

Pretty exciting!

Having not played LoL (though friends, especially NathanialG, are pushing me to check it out), I have no idea what type of F2P model this will be. What I'm afraid of is paying $10 for a gun that I can only use for a few hours before it is locked again (a la APB). What I'd rather have is a system in which items can be bought outright for use, or players can grind to earn the same items over a (much) longer period of time, should they choose not to pay extra.

Either way, $10M is a lot of money-- I hope they can afford their rent now.

LoL uses the bolded system.

Yeah, I kinda hate LoL (the MOBA genre on the whole, actually) but their F2P system is actually pretty nice.
