NFL 2011 Super Bowl XLVI

Second questionable non-call against the NYG by the refs.

Really hoping that's not the story we take away from this game. The NFL really needs to figure its replay shizz out. It's deliberately stupid now.

Well that was a helluva throw and catch. Is Eli elite yet?

Momentum is a Female Doggo.

4th down. It's time for Brady's Tyree moment. Throw it to Ochocinco!

Looking at stats and whatnot, Eli's probably gonna end up with the MVP since no one else really stood out. Nicks had 10 catches, Manningham had a clutch catch and Tuck had a couple sacks. But Eli threw it for 75% completion percentage.

So now I believe in the Giants.

I'm just happy it was a decent game.

WOW. Hey Guru, ready to change your mind? Manningham was molested on 3rd and 10 just now, no flag.

Root for the Mets.. you arent allowed to be a Phils fan..

Congrats to Kush and any other Giants fans.

Yeah had to be Manning... with that completion percentage and really no bad mistakes.. throw in a couple clutch throws and its pretty much a done deal. He also basically has cemented himself in the hall of fame..

ugh..

Freaking bandwagoner.

I'm just happy the patriots lost.

That was pretty darn entertaining. Was vaguely pulling for the Patriots, but just wanted a good game, and certainly got that. Now, if only Gronkowski had been a half-step more forward on that last play; can you imagine the hysteria if, after all the injury talk and being a non-factor, he'd come up with a game-winning Hail Mary?

I can now go back to pretending the 2011 season never happened.

That was an awesome game. I can't help but think that Gronkowski being injured took away one of Brady's biggest weapons.

Go Jints! Ok, back to not caring about football for the next 364 days.

I dunno, he still threw a step behind Welker, and several steps behind Branch on some of those late throws. And got tipped by Giants D on a couple others. Those I guess you give credit to the D. But Brady's last two drives were fairly unimpressive, except for the one 4th down escape.

Holy crap we won! Woo! People are honking their horns like crazy Around here!

The most unexpected team defeated the odds of amazing teams and came out on top. What a roller coaster season.

Eli is Elite. Enough of the talk.

They weren't great throws, but Welker should have caught that. I feel bad for him because he catches those 95% of the time.

Nope, you don't/didn't.

Well placed enough wagers to have a reason to watch and not be a social hermit.

Kelly Clarkson clocking in at 134 seconds and coming under the 134.5 was costly but made it up otherwise.

What a forgettable game. No idea what you guys were watching.

Waaaaaaaaaah. Sour grapes dude. And I would have said that if the Giants lost. Sorry your Packers can't be in every Super Bowl. *EDIT* The Manningham sideline catch alone was exciting, and there were several other moments to keep you on the edge of your seat. If this wasn't a weekly theme with you, I would have left the comment alone.

*EDIT*
Patriots have nothing to be ashamed about, they were a tough opponent for the Giants both years, and have still been to 5 Super Bowls since 2002. I tip my hat to Bellichick and Brady, their legacy should not be tarnished.

Howard Balzer tweeted that there is word some fool put $1000 down on the first score of the Super Bowl being a safety. It paid 50-1.

This has nothing to do with the Packers. Congrats I guess but this was easily the least exciting SB since Indy Bears. Sorry I'm not willing to just slurp up anything the NFL has on offer. SF vs NO was the game of the playoffs by far.

Kudos to Coughlin putting out 12 guys on that play and just milking extra time off the clock. Talk about major rule loop hole.

I don't think that was done on purpose, but if it was, good job by Tom.

With that said, the NFL should allow certain plays like that to put time back on the clock if accepted. Obviously, if he completed the pass, and declines the penalty, then the clock reads normal. But there's no reason to have a play like that happen with 12 men on the field, and the offense gets penalized.

I still don't agree with your assessment of the game, but we'll agree to disagree.

Yeah. I was pulling for the Giants and Eli Manning (Future Hall of Famer) and I was confused as to how that's not a dead ball foul if it happened before the play.

Considering the games since then, that's not a terrible inditement of this game. I thought SF v NO was the best game too, but the Giants v SF was a close second. Love good defense.

This was, fortunately, not a boring SB. Not great, but nothing I am sorry for having sat through. I wish both teams had been healthy, and I wish the defenses had been a bit more aggressive.

Man, being in Indy for this Superbowl has been unreal. Working a mile from Lucas Oil Stadium has made this week one of the craziest of my life. You would have thought that it was the New England Patriots against the Indianapolis Giants the way the crowds were cheering in the streets the whole weekend. I guess the game was pretty good too

Pretty slow but still exciting game. And if nothing else, one has to give the G-men credit for winning it despite 3 of their offensive players going down and 2 pretty obvious calls not being made. The 4th quarter was played nigh perfectly clockwise and if the Pats expected anything less out of Coughlin and Manning, they are fools.

I just want to say how terrible NBC is. They handled the end of the SuperBowl absolutely terribly. Seriously, NBC pays all this money to get the bowl and they do only 20 minutes of postgame so they could go to the voice. Give me a break. If your watching the Super Bowl you want to see the postgame ( unless a pats fan). If you wanted to see the voice you would be sleeping during the bowl and dvring it. ESPN and the NFL network is probably thanking NBC. Even Fox and UPN had postgame.

I was pulling for the team with an actual defense just to confirm my sacred belief that defense actually matters in this game despite all the rules changes made to deliberately nerf the hell out of it.

I have to agree with jowner. That was a boring game. The first 3.5 quarters were like watching paint dry.

And to top it all off, the commercials largely sucked (thanks Bud and GE for trying to solve insomnia worldwide).
