Justified thread

Very. It was pretty scary, actually. And I'm hoping Not Karen Sisco comes back, because Carla Gugino rules.

An interview with the show-runner.

Right? I love episodes that give him a little more focus. That one with the older bank robber that ended in a slow foot chase at the end last season was AWESOME.

I'm unsure whether this statement has been made yet in this thread but best Goddamned show on TV. Even the kids get great lines.

What, is Lorain back? I liked her, especially how she dealt with the pederast.

More showdowns! I missed them last season. Glad this season started with one.

Art is pretty damn smart. Between figuring out Raylan's little evidence-misplacing last season and the navigation, he must have been one hell of a marshal back in the days of field duty.

The freight train just doesn't stop in this show, and it's nothing short of fantastic.

I was disappointed that they didn't use Pruitt Taylor Vince (aka JJ LaRoche from the Mentalist) in a more significant role. His dry wit would have been a perfect match for this show, especially as a possible Detroit mob boss.

i giggled like a school boy after this weeks showdown. the look on his face was priceless.

Oh, I totally laughed out loud. The following end scene was also totally fantastic.

Uh, I think you mean "aka Mose Manuel from Deadwood". Part of Justified's great tradition of plucking in Deadwood actors, that only makes me demand an appearance from Ian McShane all the more.

And he got to name drop "Breaking Bad" too. Heh. Anyway, I like how this season seems to be both dynamic and complex. Lot's of factions at cross purposes.

He's had practice (Warning: Contains NSFW language, where W could mean both Work or Whities).

Hah, yeah, as soon as I saw him I knew I recognized him from my favorite movie, Black Dynamite.

Another great episode

Dewy Crow has lived shockingly long for a total imbecile

This is the greatest.

And as great as that episode was, I am soooo damn psyched for next week's Dewey Crowe in Crank 3: Renal-geddon.

We need more Dewey Crowe.

My other favorite animated gif that i stumbled upon:

Both of those characters are just full of awesome. That second .gif is hypnotic!

So last week I bought Elmore Leonard's newest book Raylan, which is his first Raylan Givens book since the release of the show. I read it in a few days, and it's excellent. However, I'm now seriously confused about who is copying who. Entire sections of dialogue and action that I've seen in the show this season are mirrored exactly in the book. For example:

Spoiler:

The discussion about how Ole Miss has the best looking girls in the country, word for word.

There are quite a few more, but the biggest surprise came after seeing the preview of next week's episode. The plot of Raylan involves

Spoiler:

a group of criminals who are stealing people's kidneys, then selling them back to them for thousands of dollars. The first person they leave in the ice-filled bathtub? Dickie Crow.

This seems to be EXACTLY the plot of next week's episode. I feel a bit annoyed that I may have inadvertently spoiled a large swath of this season. So a warning to fans of the show: avoid the book until after this season, at least.

Interview with showrunner Graham Yost

I was talking to someone who said it’s a little bit like "True Blood," where you’ve got these alternate universes; same characters, similar, but there’s some differences and there’s some back and forth. I would say this. I would wait until you see the -- no, you know what? Read it.

I would take that as a "buy it now to boost sales, but read it later".

You guys ever watch the show Damages? Season 2 has Timothy Olyphant....there's a line where he says to the bad guy "the next time we meet there won't be a conversation." Sound familiar?

Fantastic episode tonight!

I'll be sad when someone finally kills Dewey.

The look on Raylan's face as he dangled the apartment key was f*cking priceless. I laughed for a while on that one.

That killer nurse was hot.
