Official Steam app for iOS and Android

Thanks so much Rezzy!

I've got an invite if anyone wants it.

Thanks Coyler for the invite! I won't be able to use it yet though, I'm waiting for the delivery of a new bigger SD Card to (re-)root my HTC Desire and finally have some phone space.

Invite available if someone still wants one. Steam link in sig.

I have an invite if anyone wants it.. Just PM me

I'm in. Have an invite as well. PM me if interested.

I'll throw out my invite to a GWJ regular that PMs me. First come.

I too have an invite available. PM me if you want it.

Btw, anyone saw a public place to post comments for this app?

Or must we contact directly support for any comments?

Maybe here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum... ?

Also, I have an invite. Message me on Steam (link in sig) if you want it and aren't a coffee grinder.

Do you think Steam will start developing mobile games?

Edit: Valve will start developing mobile games and distribute via Steam mobile.

Invite for grabs here. I'd prefer to give it to someone that posts in the thread next asking for it, rather than getting a bunch of PMs. So who wants it?

I'll take it if you've still got it Stele.

Sent you a friend request on Steam. Seems easier to gift it that way, unless you want to PM me your e-mail address.

Sweet got it in on my own, this is gonna be awesome.

Thanks, I'll check it out as soon as I get home.

I, too, have an invite available now. Post here in the thread, friend me up on Steam (Rallick) and I will send it.

I'm in. Not sure what to do with it though.

I also have an invite to give out.

Given the apparently low bar for admittance I'm starting to rethink my membership.

I liked this app before it was cool.

One invite here, free to a good home. No fresh coffee grinders please (I am OK with long-time lurkers though). PM me to keep it clutter free.

Needs a bit of work, but looking good. Mainly just needs some UI polish, I think. I kind of hope it paves the way for some sort of ability to have computers running steam in "Mobile mode", so that even though you can only play games on one at a time, you can leave chat running or start chat up elsewhere.

Features I'd like to see:

- "Start download on home machine" would be awesome

- Getting announcements and event notifications (maybe for selected groups only?)

Steam Mobile updated for Android yesterday saying that the beta is now open to all Steam members.

They say as soon as you "buy" the game, it will download right away.

I don't think it can download existing bought game tho.

Agreed. The iOS version needs the ability to change sounds. I hate the default steam sounds.

I missed this if it was posted. It was mentioned early on, but I didn't see anyone resolve the question. Do the apps in any way give a cut to Apple or Google for purchases made through them? I would assume they don't, but I want to make sure.

Doesn't appear to. Or at least, the prices are no higher. My suspicion is that the cut for Apple doesn't occur for things that you sell that aren't usable on iOS (i.e. PC and Mac games). Either that or Apple hasn't noticed yet.

Apple gets a cut from purchases made through the app store and downloaded through their network-- I doubt they have any visibility to purchases made otherwise (like Hypatian said).

I thought to tell it here.

Steam remote download.

Mainly, you have steam running somewhere, and from a web browser, you can start download from it to your steam program, EXISTING game in your library.
