Official Steam app for iOS and Android

I'm also not in. Yet.

Ominous.

I just tried to log in on the IOS version and got:

"The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "api.steampowered.com""

I got that too, but re-tried and got the regular "not in beta yet" message.

I got an invite as well and a freebie to give to someone. PM me for it.
Claimed.

I'm in! And I have an invite! First come first serve!

In and invite already sent to someone.

App looks nice and chat works well!

Well, you received a pop-screen when you are in the beta.. and seems I'm in as well.

I'm in too. I'd send an invite to someone if I knew how.

The app is very slick, and I even almost bought a game but I would have had to re-enter my payment info. My only two negative comments are that the sidebar menu can't be reached from any screen—you always have to go back to Friends—and the sidebar menu itself won't scroll down enough to let me reach Settings!

I've got an invite as well.

As do I.

I'm in. The iOS app is pretty slick. I have an invite available if anyone wants it. Just PM me, and if you aren't on my friends list, add me.

Edit: Invite sent to a fellow Goodjer!

Any chance someone could chuck one my way? I'd like to check it out.

Done.

I'm in! But my phone is out of battery. Dagnabbit.

Awesome! Thanks!

I'm really looking forward to being able to make purchases on my phone if I'm away from my pc during a weekend deal. Aside from that, I'm out of touch with the general excitement about mobile access to a storefront. I understand a lot of this is simply connection to brand identity, but outside of that where's all the excitement come from?

Sincerely,

Wet Blanket

It's more about the chat client for me. I already buy games from steam on my phone via the website.

If anyone has an invite I would appreciate one. I have no corgis to offer in return, but you will have my undying gratitude an affection.*

*Cash value of gratitude and affection $0.001. No guarantees made on undeath of said gratitude and affection after the giver of the invite (Hereafter referred to as 'you') or the receiver (Hereafter referred to as 'me') has deceased. You can redeem gratitude and affection for kind thoughts and positive karma. Limit one per customer.

I got an invite from Coyler and I thank him very much for it, he's a model citizen and if he decides to run for president he gets my vote. I still have some problems logging in (something about a server) but it will work out.

It's weird, every message I type appear on Steam on my PC as well.

Does this application take over some part of you Steam on your PC to be able to, let say, start the download as well?

If anyone with a spare would like to invite me, I'd appreciate it. (got one, thanks Gdawg!)

I have an invite. Shoot me a steam message or a friend request (CRG) + message if you want it.

Maybe the group and chat features? Status updates and news? I guess everything but chat can be done with the mobile browsers. But it's definitely nicer this way. Anytime my browser closed/crashed I would have to re-enter my Steam Guard code on my phone web browser when I was away from my PC during the holiday sale. Quite a pain.

Anyway, looking forward to the summer sale!

And thanks, duckilama, for the invite.

Sent you a friend request on Steam.

Does the friends list use the tagging from the steam client. It would be bad to sort through all of those people again.

Also, any invites left? <.<

Makes sense though I have to imagine some of the super-excitement also stems from platform identity-- a playerbase largely ignored until Steam helped to change the way the audience was viewed by retail.

Sent you a friend request on Steam.

Best steam name/icon combo ever.

I have an invite... who wants to be my friend the most?

Thanks RadicalAns for the invite! It works a treat on my Android phone. The only problem is, now I have to avoid temptation wherever I go, not just when I'm logged in at my pc. Curses!

Rezzy - or anyone with a spare invite - I'm interested. Steam name is sithload.

Friend me up and it's yours. Invite sent.
