Justified thread

I have been following this show pretty religiously since it started and have to say it easily my favorite show on basic cable. Having Elmore Leonard as the writer helps, of course.

Man did they start this season off right.

This is the only show on basic cable that I follow. Having Elmore Leonard write for the show is kind of like cheating

Agreed. A friend of mine described it as The Wire for rednecks.

I said in the TV thread, this latest premiere had Raylan's smoothest showdown ever. I cheered.

Where can you watch the 1st two seasons at?

Best description I've heard. I particularly like the playing off the traditional Southern Sheriff image with everybody dogging on Raylan's Stetson.

Best f*ckin show on TV.

OUTSTANDING season premier. I was worried about them following up to the absolute juggernaut that season 2 was, but I'm really freaking excited about the new villains introduced.

Spoiler:

Tablecloth for the f*cking WIN!

That was well and truly awesome. I was wondering how he was going to handle it. I probably would have simultaneously kicked the other chair while grabbing for the gun, but his solution was much more elegant.

There are only 2 shows on tv I make sure I never miss. This is one of them, the other is Fringe.

For me, it is Justified and Archer.

Great opener. My wife called it when Boyd walked into genpop, "He wanted to go to prison!"

The Gangstagrass album ain't bad neither.

Between this show, Sons of Anarchy, Archer and The League... FX can do no wrong. Great start to the season.

It is. The whole album is. I need to get it to work out to.

That Boyd is a sly f*cker.

I don't think you can steam them online. I ended up buying them on DVD for about twenty bucks each.

Great show. Olyphant nailed the persona in Deadwood and i cant imagine anyone else pulling Raylan off. This and Sherlock may be the best TV I have ever seen.

Man did they start this season off right.

I don't know how involved Elmore Leonard has been since the first season. The first season had a definite Elmore Leonard feel, and all the bad guys had these funny, likeable quirks. Every episode was really tight and crisp without any wasted action. The series went a bit wobbly early in season two when they went away from that. I couldn't say for sure, but I'm guessing that was Elmore Leonard going, "Okay guys, you got it from here. I'm gonna go have a smoke or something." They recovered pretty quickly, but never got back that trademark Elmore Leonardness.

Pretty much disagree in entirety. Loved season 2 and thought it was darker, but just as good as season 1.

Agreed. I really enjoyed season 1, but I thought that the storytelling, characters and acting took a dramatic step forward in the second season. And I don't think they will ever have as good a villain as Mags Bennett. The first season was entertaining, but the second season became one of the best shows on television.

Yup.

And Season Three (if the season premier is any indication) seems to be on pace. The throwaway line about why Boyd Crowder would probably not like Mexico was vintage Leonard.

I loved seasons 1 and 2. Can't wait for season 3 (but being in the UK I'll probably have to.)

Quinn is pretty good at playing a narcissistic douchebag.

It looks like Fletcher Nix (icepick dude) is not dead and is scheduled for appearances in a few more episodes in season three. Could be fun.

Yeah.

Hey it's Quinn! And he's acting like... Quinn! But coked out and evil on top of the inherent douchebag qualities.

Looking forward to another fantastic episode tonight

I just finished mainlining season 1 and 2 on dvd. Looks like I'm going to have to go ahead and pick up season 3 on itunes or something now.

Yay, I was hoping there'd be a thread around here on this show! Last night's episode was GRRRRRRREAT. How badass is Art? And yay more Rachel, I do hope we see more Tim too. Also, so far Winona isn't annoying me anywhere nearly as much as she did last season.
