The best kind of brotherly love!

Ok, so I hit 50. We should figure out a night to do some level 50 FPs.

In other news, I tried PvP. Huttball, whatever algorithm Bioware uses to determine teams, and my 7 level 12-15 teammates can all DIAF.

blah.

At level 12-15 odds are pretty good they did DIAF during Huttball.

I certainly do so, too.
It is ridiculous since every team I've been on has been pretty much 4x people lvl10-20, 2x 30 and 2x50.
Really no fun that way.

I'm really enjoying the Inquisitor storyline. Ancient prophecies, crazy artifacts, political intrigue, cool hats... I just picked up the fourth artifact and retrieved

Spoiler:

Ghost Grandpa's lightsaber

, so I'm pretty sure that the space-crap is about to hit the space-fan. Definitely the best storytelling I've seen in an MMO so far.

It is getting way more crazy than that

Without spoilering too much, I'd say that if you are into Lovecraft's stories, you'll feel right at home with the whole storyline until the end.

Excellent.

That's funny, most of the PvP i did this weekend had 80% lvl50s on both sides. Huttball consisted of the 50s farming kills. Speaking of huttball, is this patch going to put the fix in for pulling people around the map?

Never noticed that or do you mean if you pull a team member from a 30m distance?
That's a normal inquisitor skill and is pretty much the same as some of the leap or pull abilities that other classes have.

My biggest gripe is the seemingly borked resolve system. I get cc'ed till kingdom come, even with a full resolve bar while everybody happily smashes on me - so annoying.

Tried to contact an officer this evening to get my alt invited to the guild. No joy--nobody listed in the initial post was on.

MONSTERS!

Just type "paper" into the who filed to search for someone and shoot anyone in the guild a PM. Hopefully they'll put that into gchat and someone will get with you.

Or send an in-game mail to Rantin and we'll figure something out. I should be on tomorrow.

I was on last night with Milora my bounty hunter from about 7pm central till about 945pm central.

Sorry, RM, I didn't have you on the list in the OP since you were out with family stuff when I asked officers and LTs for character names. Took care of that just now.

Reminder to other officers and LTs, please PM me your characters with invite privileges so I can keep the OP updated.

What night do we want to try to get some level 50 FPs in? Hell, I say level 50 but I still haven't done anything from Reaper on up.

If any of you guys want to make some sick creds,
post
http://www.torhead.com/item/8pe6i1g/...
and http://www.torhead.com/item/yvsJPj/a...
on the neutral AH and let me know, I will buy them for what ever price you all set.

Just picked up slicing on my alt, and turned up a blue schematic and a blue mission on my first two shots. Both were lower level (125 and 175 skill in their respective trades I believe).

Is there any need for lower level schematics/missions like that in guild, or do people just AH them until the higher level ones start turning up?

I usually hand out any missions/schematics that I cannot use to other guildies, regardless of level.
Since there is no guild bank, yet, this seems to be the only way to help out other guildies with paperwork and office supplies (crafting mats).

It is getting way more crazy than that ;-)

Yep, it definitely got crazier.

Spoiler:

Zash is possessing Khem, I died and came back to life, and now I'm on a quest to eat ghosts. Hilarious.

Man, is it ever creepy when Zash's voice comes out of Khem's ugly face though. Poor guy needs a space-exorcism.

Even more crazy....

You will most likely want to play that companion storyline to the end, so keep working on that affection early on

I'm not really good at looking at the myraids of posts and threads and stuff that crop up in the MMORPG forum, and I tend to just stick to the ones I get directed to and end up posting in.. so I know I end up missing a decent few things in the other threads.

So I guess what I'm asking is.. are there any particular threads on SWTOR here on the GWJ site that people believe are as essential as this one for various things? Would having them posted in the OP be cluttery or helpful? The tips and tricks, or the GC/IPP inter-trading, any others? Or was this already done in the catch-all?

1.1 is out and there are a number of exploits to get valor ridiculously easily on Ilum.

Please do not use these as I'm sure bans will be handed out after the fact.

Looks like a good day to play an alt

Havn't seen a video yet showin this rediculous valor gain....there's lots of posts on the forum sayin it's a bunch of lies and lots of posts sayin it's not...

Hard to know till we get a dev response.

We didn't have a big enough advantage to kill a turret once this morning on Keller's Voide when i was on illum...we did camp the reps in their base though and then back off to southern or central every once in a while to let death timers reset.. It was ok valor for imps, not for rebs...but even so, i coulda made as much valor spending the same amount of time in pvp matches with a decent group so...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's a bunch of misinfo generated by haters and republics who are disgusted by the imbalance in player numbers...i mean that's legit to be disgusted with the actual design...but after 10 hrs now i honestly can't figure out whethere there's actually an exploit or not...quite a few players on the forums have reported being in groups killing turrets and getting absolutely nothin from it so i'm highly skeptical till we see the official response from devs.

Looks like it was a pack of lies, regardless of the reason folks put them out, it was all lies....like many people did actually report.

There has been no valor gain from killing turrets according to the official response.

What folks were seeing was simply high valor gain from having an x5 illum pvp buff giving them 200 valor per kill with a constant stream of dying republic players taxing in to die...of course they stopped giving valor after a few deaths or however it works, but early on there musta been a big stream so some folks got a brief surge of valor....but that wouldn't have lasted to long, it's easy to take a spiked valor in a short amoutn of time and think you can do that all day when you really can't, it was a brief spike.

http://www.swtor.com/community/devtr...

Anyhow, read up, illum is getting an emergency patch and folks are encouraged to avoid the pvp area till it's released. The design intent is for all enemy players entering a the opposing base's interior area to get immediately blown to sh*t, not for them to ever bea ble to kill the turrets and farm the spawn...so they're gonna fix that they say...and also prevent spawm camping at the central taxi locs.

End result it's broken and they're trying to fix it. Different servers will have different results.

So while the turrets weren't giving valor, that was made up crap, apparently swtor devs do consider some players took "extreme advantage of the bad situation created by overcrowding and spawn corpse camping" and according to a brief dev post update...bioware may be taking action vs some of the extreme abusers of the situation yesterday.

i've no idea what that means, lol. But, cool. I got no issues with how they're handling the unfortunte situation so far. Screw ups happen, unfortuantely.

there were still folks that were at rank 10 make it to rank 60 in a day. Those are the ones that need punished.

It's also going to cloud the race to warlord...

They just popped up a trailer about upcoming (post 1.1) content:

http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/coming-star-wars-old-republic

Nothing new, but they show a little of what UI customization will look like, and that was a welcome thingie.

If no evidence to back that claim...don't believe it happened.

All "evidence" i've been able to find suggest that's a false claim / lie / made up rumor.

Turrets didn't give valor and folks didn't get valor for rapid repeated killing of the same player(s).

But yea, the rumor was out folks were already getting MASSIVE valor and were rank 100 right after the 1.1 patch went live...

*cough* epic BS.
