Blow to the head? Wait, what?

Aaron Rodgers, the new Tom Brady.

Justin Tuck shouldn't have had his chest there for Rogers to bump his head into.

might projectile puke.

wow. was that a casual jog into the endzone or what?

I picked the Giants to win this but didn't really expect this.

Boy, I know that feeling.

So if Eli wins a second Super Bowl, will people start talking about whether he's the better Man(ning)? I don't think he is, but 20 years from now, two championships to one will be a talking point.

I want him to get a second just because I know it'll eat Peyton alive.

Giants D making a strong finish here, especially that sack!

GB didn't deserve to win this game, which is unheard of playing at Lambeau field, but it is what it is. I will be rooting for the Niners to win it all.

I can't blame Tebow for this blowout, he's not out there giving up 6 TDs. However, his stat line is currently lacking.

Patriots lose next week to the winner of the Texans/Ravens.

Sure you can. You can blame him and the rest of the offense for not scoring more against one of the leagues very worst defenses.

Wow. Who would have thought that at home, Rogers would suck just like Tebow? And he only had to score 38 points to win whereas Tebow had to score 46.

No my argument is that folks like you are illogically hateful towards Tebow (not illogically critical towards his football abilities), and that the Broncos have (at least publicly) committed to him one more year, and will be filling all the other holes that the team so desperately needs to fill.

I'll say it again. I couldn't care less about Tebow. What I hate is the ridiculous fervor around a guy who is at best mediocre, at the expense of not just the rest of his own team, but the expense of the vast majority of other players that are simply better but get way less attention.

I'm tired of the Tebow wins headlines and the constant talk about the guy on every sports segment on every news show in existence.

He doesn't deserve it.

With that I'll bow out on this one.

I completely agree. So you apparently hate the media, not Tebow?

Sincere question. Do you watch a lot of football?

Oh I do. I'm just pointing out how the argument about blaming Tebow for the blowout is just as stupid as blaming Rogers for losing. Heck, Tebow at least beat the #1 defense in his only home game.

That blow to the head call still has me mystified.

All quarterbacks should be taking notes. If you accidentally headbutt someone else as a QB, they'll get the penalty. Just imagine all the new skills they'll need to learn in order to propel their helmets at the right angle to turn sacks into first downs!

EDIT:

Rodgers looked pretty good tonight. It's not his fault that the Packers always had the greased ball.

This makes me think you don't, really. I understand the Steelers played very well in the regular season on defense, but that was a fairly different group of players than the ones who actually showed up to play in Denver.
Also, it's Rodgers

I think the lesson to be learned in this post season is that, when you're facing a piss poor defense, you really need to make the most of the opportunity. San Francisco did that and they get to advance. The Giants did and they face the 49ers in the championship game. Denver didn't and so they go home.

edit: I'm not saying that he should have won the game. I didn't think he had it in him anyway. I just didn't see him getting punked as badly as he did by one of the worst defenses in football.

I thought sheared's tongue in cheek point was pretty clear.

Yeah baby! Wooooooo! I am so happy we won but those were the worst set of refs I have ever seen. It's almost as if they were being paid off. The fumble, the ball Placement and the personal faul were all terrible.

Here come the Giants to sunny San Fran!

Even Joe Buck was astute enough to point out that both of the Packers' touchdowns were made possible thanks to blown calls. The receivers couldn't catch a ball to save their lives - there were more drops in that game than than... um... a Visine convention.

Boy, the Packers were miserable. It's like they saved up all of their mistakes from their regular season and unloaded them tonight.

Let's hope NYG-SF is better than the last time these two teams played in the NFC title game.

And if you want to set your DVRs now, Ravens-Pats go first (3 p.m. Sunday) followed by Jints-Niners at 6:30 p.m.

That's what happens when a terrible offense, above average defense team plays against a great offense, terrible defense team. The two terribles counter each other well, and the great offenses find a way to score against any defense that isn't as good as they are.

The Patriots win games by forcing shootouts with the other team. Tebow is completely incapable of winning a shootout, because god isn't willing to help for more than a quarter a week.

the big question now is whether or not the Ravens can take care of business.

Pretty much. The Ravens' defense is good enough to give Flacco a shot at winning the game, but it's a very open question whether or not he'll actually be able to do it.

Yeah for once it'd be nice to hear about how awesome Vernon Davis is for a few days.

Or if they keep winning, can his catch be "The Catch, part 2" :D

Technically it's The Catch 3.

I don't count TO. It should only count if it leads to a championship later.

Apparently, VD wants to call it "the grab" though.

Hmm. Apparently no one in the sports press seems to think Baltimore can win next week. The line is Pats -7.5.

Oops. Spelling is definitely not my strong point...

Here's the rub. If there is a luckiest team award for this season, the Broncos should get it. What I think is that Tebow and the Broncos are the benefactors of mostly luck this season (with some good effort mixed in). If you go back through their incredible run, they played teams that had lost their best offensive players (in almost every case). No way would this defense have stopped McFadden with the Raiders, and they didn't have to face him either time. If the Bears had had Cutler and Forte -- BLOWOUT! You can go down the list (and the Steelers game is definitely included in that list). The thing that gets me is folks saying the Denver defense is really good. I think they are below average at best with some very bright spots to build on for the future. I think the offense is very young and the line is going to be INCREDIBLE (in a few years). I think McGahee did great, but he's near the end of his career, and proved that he cannot survive a Fox style running game for 16 games. And our backups are mediocre at best. We don't have TE's to speak of, and that could be a great weapon in this style offense. Royal is likely gone to free agency. Dawkins could have potentially played another year, but the neck injury has probably sealed his retirement.

I think Tebow showed signs of potential, and next year will determine if he stays or goes (as a QB). What I wonder, though, is if he does not make it as a QB, will he actually swallow his pride, and move to a position where he could exceed, and continue to use his role in the NFL as a platform to do good things in both the community and around the world, or will he step away from football for good? I would hope that he would change positions and use the platform to continue the wonderful programs he's started.

But, the team can't waste this year's draft picks on a QB (unless something unexpected falls into their lap) when they have so many other needs. They are going to have to bite the bullet and hope Tebow shows improvement next year.

The Ravens have been probably the most maddeningly inconsistent all year. If someone could let me know which version of the Ravens will show up next week, that would really help me make my picks. KTHXYBYE.
