NFL 2011 Divisional Playoff Round

It makes absolutely no sense why the NFL thinks that hit on Thomas is somehow less dangerous simply because he isn't a quarterback.

Boomer was the only one to pick the 49ers this morning on Espn. Ditka was the only one to pick the Broncos.

First 49ers playoff in 9 years and I'm sitting in an airport to fly home for my grandma's funeral. Guess there are more important things in life than some silly game. Guess I'll catch the highlights. And I'm sure Rat Boy is cheering hard enough for both of us.

Enjoy the game. And call your grandparents, if you have them.

Sorry to hear that Stele, but I have a feeling you might get to watch them play next week as Saints players are dropping like flies.

Alex Smith has made some really good throws this year (including that TD just now). Even though he's had some sh*t years, I think he deserves more credit than he gets.

Good lord.

Clearly the Niner's are unable to run the pick play properly.

Wow

Man I am glad I decided to stay up till 2am to watch this game.

No kidding.

That was like our old APFB 2K8 league games.

Wow.

Wow wow.

You can say that again.

And this is more like you playing as the Patriots against the AI on easy.

This is why I hate the Pats and Brady.. clearly that ball was influenced by the ground.. but yet.. touchdown.

Long layover in Atlanta, got to see the 2nd half. Holy Alex Smith, Batman.

I'm alive...I think.

That was a great game!

Now I just need the Gmen to win

No kidding. Not particularly partial to either team, but great second half.

Looking... bleak, but go Broncos. Then again, first half of the earlier game looked similar.

Agreed. I had no horse in that race, but damn, what a finish.

I lost my voice watching the Niners game. Fantastic game.

Kinda figured one of these games was going to be a blowout.

Tebow doesn't have a prayer.

Pathetic.

This is getting ugly.

I'm enjoying this.

A lot.

I hope Tebow has a better second half. I think a lot of the hate (and praise) isn't his fault and I don't want him to go out getting beat so badly.

That was legal. The ball can touch the ground in the endzone, if the player maintains control.

Likewise.

A whole, whole lot. I hope tebow-mania dies tonight. I don't think he'll be Denver's starting QB for another game, this season or next.

Would someone please get Phil Simms to STFU?

It just keeps getting better.

TheGameguru wrote:

how so? It's the exact same as a catch outside the endzone the receiver has to maintain control of the ball throughout the entire process of making the catch. The ball was clearly moving on the ground without clear possession. Should have been overturned as I've seen it done so many times before.

I'm just stating what the rule says. The ball can make contact with the ground on a TD catch. It's your opinion that he didn't have control, but the officials reviewing the play disagree.
