Bug someone in the OP. We'll get you in, have no fear.

Fear leads to anger.
Anger leads to hate.
Hate leads to suffering!

Can't wait!

I'm still at anger (sub-level 10) so my plan was to do that very bugging you suggest once I've levelled a bit more - maybe once I'm off the starting world.

Heyyo, I'm Allegra, long time lurker, second or third time posting. I'm also the younger sister of Tanglebones. Big bro told me to come on here and introduce myself, so hi! I'm also Dali in SWTOR.

Howdy new folks!

Don't wait, get into the guild right away. I know it helped me when I had early questions. We're pretty good about not spoiling things in guild chat, too, so you don't have to worry about that. If you don't see anybody listed above online, just whisper anybody (or multiple anybodies since there are times you can't see chat) and have them ask in guild if anybody who can invite is online.

Also, lots of us have alts who may be able to run with you. I know I've got 2 (soon to be 3) ready to run Black Talon at level 10. Join the fun!

Posted the 1.1 patch notes in the catch all thread. Of note to the conversation happening now:

Warzones
Level 50 players now participate in their own Warzone bracket and will not be matched with lower-level players.

Awesome! Adding anti-aliasing is another great thing about the patch.

Hey, ah, I'd like to join up with you all, seem like nice people. I'll admit that I've never heard of or seen this site before now, though, and even though I've read the CoC I'm not sure what's needed to join up. (as in, if any time spent on the forums is), but otherwise, yeah, nice to meet nice people and such. Plus I love your name, reminds me of the Rugrats episode where they're actually pushing papers around.

Yay for me not alienating people!

Glad to have you, Rockso. Take a look around the boards, there's good people afoot.

Hey guys! Finally got the game - Sith Warrior, Liyana online now. I'll message any of those on the list in the post as well.

Thanks to whoever ran BT with me at 3am PST... that was the most fun I've had in game so far. /Inogen

Chesspieceface is my new favorite name. Now we just need a couple new folks to sign up with RabFemale Doggoild and Hammerdown.

For the man who had no idea what a fez was.
You wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool.

(The yellow tassle didn't quite show up well here, but hey, I doubt it would have shown up in real life either.)

This also means you need to watch more Doctor Who.

edit: and now I need a new avatar. Mine looks sloppy, even if it is like, 8 years old.
editagain: and how does one change avatar? I delete old one, browse to new one, but there is no 'upload' button? and so it reverts back to old one?
editagainagain: works now! All I had to do was show what I was doing with Carg watching, and it worked.

You are the best, Blue!

At some point I'll have try and look to see who is on to send me a guild invite..

Okay, I've got my Sith Warrior - Jeskelle - up to Level 11 and last stopped just before choosing a specialization. I'll PM one of the officers from the OP here when I'm on next for a invite.

I'm thinking of going Juggernaut. As this is my first run at the game it seems like a pretty straightforward role to play that I can enjoy in groups: I go in front, hit things and get hit, and we all crush the Republic scum!

I might eventually start up an alt of a Bounty Hunter. I tried a bit of a Smuggler for the other side, and the starting story had more moral dilemmas. This one seems easier to just focus on trust no one, and nice guys finish last.

See you online soon!

Oh, I don't know about that, BT....Mako does keep me on the straight and narrow (I've actually made Light Side tier 1). I still feel bad about the only Imperial operative I executed for incompetence on Naa Shaddaa, although mainly because she had a nice arse.

I'm trying to play a bad-guy bounty hunter, and I agonize over the moral decisions while trying to stay on Mako's good side. It's gotten to the point where I send her away to craft or sell greys whenever I suspect a light/dark decision is coming up.

Mako: "I'm back! What did I... wait- why are all the villagers dead?"
Me: *whistling nonchalantly* "They were like that when I got here."

I don't know who you are, but you know what you are talking about.

Spynavy you need to gear up more or make sure you keep friends nearby if you're going to keep hanging around Illum

You're a bit on the squishy side.

Played a ton this weekend, and I'm hooked. Love the atmosphere. It really is what I'd expect from a new KOTOR game so far.

My name in the game is the same as here. I'll pester someone soon for a guild invite. I'm a level 16 Assassin.

Nice seeing you yesterday on Tatooine. I was the Smuggler Dalat you encountered. I couldn't figure out who you were on GWJ. Nice to meet you.

Hehe, My buddy Kalsnake and I saw you on. I believe he chatted with you a little; he remembered you from Battlefield.

Looks like they killed the guild page and guild forums.

This is seriously amazing Blue!

Been reading up on the level 50 content since i been 50 for about 5 days now.

There's a lot of stuff to figure out and most of it's rather difficult to wrap yer head around if you were expecting a well thought out traditional progression.

First thing to do when you hit 50:

Ilum planet quest series and dailies.

Second thing to do:

Belsavis level 50 bonus series and dailies.

Buy level 50 epic hilt/barrel and level 50 epic armoring pieces from comm vendor on ilum.

Then:

At level 50 you unlock, apparently:

Hard Modes of 4 man flashpoints (not all of them seem to have a hard mode but about 6 do).
You can get tionese gear from these i believe and possibly something from the next tier on final bosses (unclear to me)

Normal 8 man operation.
You can get columni here i think (not 100% clear)

Hard 8 man operation.
Coumni for sure, Rakata?

Nightmare 16 man operation. (i think that's how it goes from what i've read)
Rakata..for sure.

You also unlock daily and weekly missions for pvp warzones and ilum pvp arena.
Rewards before level 60 valor are 1 champion bag for daily and 3 champion bags for weekly (each daily and each weekly). Post 60 valor rank you can get a battlemaster bag instead of one of the champ bags from the weekly.

Here's where it gets a bit tricky, folks seem to have mixed opinions on what's the best way to proceed through content at 50 at the moment because tuning for content doesn't seem to match anyone's notion of a natural progression for PvE.

I am reading a lot of stuff saying 8 man normal mode ops are actually easier than hard mode flashpoints. I havn't read a guide on 8 man operation yet but we tried a 4 man hardmode...you can't really do a 4 man hardmode with whatever group makup you want to. In normal mode we could run with say 2 tanks and 2 healers if we wanted and stuff would jsut take a bit longer to kill. You can't do that anymore in hard modes because every single boss has a rather FAST ENRAGE TIMER!

So to accomplish hard modes your going to need a staple group of good healer, good tank and 2 good dps.

So for suggested level 50 progression...here's where everything we think we know from other mmos goes out the window (for now at least until they rework lots of stuff).

Suggested way to start gearing up at level 50: PVP.

Get all the champion gear bags you can from pvp weeklies/dailies and any you can buy with commendations are icing on the cake. You get a chance of a full T2 PVP item from champion bags. These items are far and away the best gear you can get for raid prep in the game right now and definitely the easiest time vs reward to achieve according to every resource i've read.

Hard Mode 8 man operation is completable for a group in full T2 PVP gear...HARD MODE 8 man!

So i suggest folks start workin on savin up some pvp comms and do all those dailys/weeklies at 50 then we'll start tryin to run hard mode black talon (the easiest) and normal 8 man op soon as we have 8 50s on that can get together some evening.

All this is assuming yer intested in this post level 50 stuff....if yer not, then yer not and that's cool too:P But i am and so are some others...this is what i can figure from all the research i've done.

The wacko bit of all this is PVP gear is not at all useless for PvE like other games because star wars doesn't have a PvE stat like Rift's toughness, focus, and hit...yet at least. So right now PVP gear is bridging the gap allowing folks to proceed through badly tuned end game content we'd likely get stuck on without.

Worry not, we'll definitely be doing end game stuff. I have big plans to hit 50 by this weekend and I know there's quite a few people around my level.

Say, 2 weeks or so and we can get started on the level 50 stuff?

Yeah, I saw a few people with the IPP tag this weekend. I don't think I chatted with anyone, though.

i'm not worried....we've already started into this stuff at 50 and ran into some real confusion so this is research to help folks understand the options and potential things to do next now.

Figure it out now and the next 50s won't have to wonder and figure it out the hard way like some of us did over the weekend trying hard mode flashpoints without a proper group makup and stuff:)

Several of us are gettin geared up in T2 pvp gear already and you can really notice the numbers go up on your dps/defense and healing numbers with almost ever piece, it's pretty cool. Gonna get a lil harder to get the champion pvp bags after January's major patch so i recommend doing as much of thsoe dailys/weeklies as you can till the patch comes out for sure if yer 50 before it hits.

I think if we have 2 of our dps on tonight and a healer we should be able to get through hard mode black talon by now, i hope.

When we tried Hard BT the first tiem we had 2 people specced healing and everything enraged on us. We got through the first two by just massive healing from both healers while the 1 dps and I as tank beat on the boss to finish it off...that didn't work through the 3rd boss though...he enraged and just absolutely slaughtered our asses.

We were getting the bosses down to maybe 1/8th life or 1/9th life before enrage though so really we just needed to swap a healer spec for a dps spec i think and we'd be there...barely but we'd be there.

Nice write on on the level 50 steps Fuzz. I was pondering this last night once I hit 50 and didn't have any time to look into it before I had to hit the sack. Looking forward to getting some post 50 stuff going.
