Channeling my rage into leveling up and improving a bit today for next attempt:) At least we know the tactics now for the various bosses there.

I unlocked a nice epic tanking enhancement last night i'd been working on which i queued up 5 of last night before loggin off those'll add some nice defense and shield change to me.

Spoiler:

We're pretty sure something's buggy on bulwark and we can't see a marker or a cast but it's still doable. Crazy mechanics on that fight. Gotta stay to either side of him and go no where near the yellow line in front of him, run up against the side walls when he blasts, interrupt his smash really fast when he starts casting it cause the longer it charges the more damage it does, and then heal through whatever the other thing he does is that we can't tell...

Spoiler:

Ya bulwark you have to stay on either side. Our healer was standing in front wasnt working because he was just getting toasted everytime. You also have to take out the consoles on the sides when the shield comes up. If you attack with that up you do serious dmg to yourself. The robots that come in during the fight will try and repair the consoles nd if they do the shield comes back on line. Apparently if you're having a rough time you can allow this to happen to regen/heal back up.

Once figuring out what to do the fights in there were easy. Well... easish. That last one was annoying.

Need some advice on how to build/play my Imp Agent Operative. I've never played a stealth class but, I want to try it out.

my experience is stun/backstab/stab/stab/stab target dead

on the receiving end.

I should have noted this would be for PvE.

Do you mostly stay out of combat and circle the fight looking for targets to sneak in on and drop? I assume if I max out the stealth tree I would have very good burst damage.

I think I might try to build between the DoT tree and Stealth tree. I want to stay away from the healing tree as I have two other chars that can do that.

From my limited experience with backstabby stealth classes in this game: if soloing, target a mob & press Ctrl-1 to send in your best tanking companion, give them a shot or two to grab aggro, sneak behind the least powerful enemy that's targetting them and backstab away or maybe sap an enemy that's hanging back at range plinking your tank to help cut down on the damage.
When in groups, same as above without the Ctrl-1.
I basically treat the back-stabby dps classes as trashmen that wipe up all the annoying regular mobs so the group can focus on the tougher enemies while eliminating all of that extra dps that's getting poured into the tank. Just don't draw aggro.

Bill, the basic rotation varies as you go up in level, but here's how a Concealment Op works:

Pop Acid Blade.
Sleep Dart for CC (I do this *all* the time even solo and it really helps with survivability, plus good training for groups).
Hidden Strike to open. Backstab to open if you don't have Hidden Strike yet.
Poison Dart.
Shiv.
When you're just starting a fight, pop Stim Boost at this point. Next time through this rotation, use Laceration.
Acid Blade (always use this power before you backstab or hidden strike).
Backstab if you can get positioning. If it's available use Debilitate to get this positioning.
Refresh Poison Dart if you need to.
Shiv.
Lacerate.
Acid Blade.
Backstab.
Etc.

For full details on this there are threads all over the place that can give you more details, but that's the basic idea.

Thanks Zenke.

Most of the info I turned up was just sample trees that people posted or were more PvP focused. I do see the trend that most people try to mix in some healing; do you do this at all. I tend to run in duo but, this char will be used mostly in a full group with Goodjers. I doubt she will ever see PvP, other than grabbing some quick XP. I was thinking of trying to balance the two damage trees but leaning towards Stealth. I know I wouldn't be the best at either but, I like the flexibility.

IPP people: If you're like a lot of people you didn't read the *really* good Knights of the Old Republic comic. This weekend Dark Horse is having a 99 cent issue sale on the digital store.

https://digital.darkhorse.com/browse/95/

The first series especially (up through issue 35) is a really strong story set very close to the original KOTOR books. It has a lot of the flavour of the stuff we're seeing in the wider world. Highly recommended!

My main suggestion would be, if you're a jet, you're a jet all the way. From your first Hidden Strike till' your last La-cer-ay. Te.

Anyway, I'd pick a tree and stick to it all the way to the top. If you want to do the stealthy/stabby thing, put in your points to get all the way to Acid Blade. If you want to do the shooty thing, go all the way to the top of the Lethality tree. Then go down to the bottom of the other two trees to get the really good low-hanging fruit. That amazing 3% cunning buff in the med tree is golden, but I feel like you should save that for later. Your talents define your class, and if you muddy the waters by picking outside your talent tree you're muddying up what your class 'is' as you level.

It might just be me, but I find the leveling-as-a-spec experience invaluable. You learn muscle memory and mental ticks that will help you a lot at max level. Granting, some of those you'll have to unlearn in a group environment. But having a good basis to start from is important. IMHO.

As for healing, if you and Kali can't take out a group before you need healing something's probably not working properly. It's good to train yourself not to break out healing unless it's super-super important. In a group situation, you should keep your focus on DPS unless the fan is working really really hard to overcome the stuff.

So yeah. My two cents. I'm not even level 40 yet though, so perhaps my Op colleagues Medmey or Natalya might have additional comments to make here.

A West Side Story reference in a swtor comment...I love you, man. I'm going to start sending you these courting gifts Kaliyo couldn't give a rats ass about.

Or you can just play a Bounty Hunter and wipe out entire groups of mobs with Death from Above Pretty easy rotation. Target, DFA, clean up straggler. Repeat.

That is my main Imp char, my main Rep is Commando Trooper; I REALLY LOVE shooting peeps in the face. It will be weird having to stab them in the back.

The video isn't done uploading, but it should work in an hour or so.

The next person to talk me into a Foundry trip at 11 at night gets gkicked.

I'm kidding, that was my own fault but damn I'm tired

You'll have to do Directive 7 at 1 in the night and don't make the mistake to look anything up in advance - going to love it

now I'm sure getting put into the time out room again

Cool to see that stuff.

But wow - those boss encounters look pretty boring compared to what we're used to...

Hey all, I'm hoping to get started tonight. A few questions:

1) We're on Keller's Void, right?

2) Is there any consensus on a class to pick or avoid (I'm mostly worried about one avoid, I guess) with regard to story quality? I loved KOTOR's story and atmosphere and that's a big reason I am getting in on this.

Thanks

1) Right

2) Nope, just have fun. You'll get a decent sense of the story by level 10, so if you're not happy, you can always jump ship to an alt.

How long does it usually take to reach level 10?

Maybe 3-4 hours or so depending on how quickly you're running through stuff. At least that's my gut feeling. On my first run I probably took longer.

OK, I caved and picked this up. Started up an Inquisitor last night, and so far I'm having a lot of fun electrocuting everything and telling Khem to eat people. I'll pester someone for a guild invite next time I'm on.

List of some of the people with invite privileges is in the OP.

I was wondering if there is any particular role the guild is experiencing a shortage of? I've got a level 24 Bounty Hunter on a different server, but I'm making a new character on Keller's Void after just finding out there's an active Goodjer guild in the game. As an added plus, some real life friends are here too.

We need more Kowakian Monkey Lizards.

I'll definitely roll up a Kowakian Monkey Lizard. Should I be a tanky lizard or shall I lick people's inevitable wounds?

With the classes being so versatile and with us having the ability to respec, I wouldn't worry about it. Just play something you find fun.

Hello all,

I received this for a Christmas gift but due to family obligations, then work, I've only been able to put a few hours in. Made 2 alts on Keller's Void (Jedi Consular and Sith Warrior) both still sub-level 10. I found soloing with the Sith much more difficult/time-consuming but maybe I was just not paying much attention or something.

Thinking of trying to go towards Sniper (as mentioned way back) or Bounty Hunter if the ranks are still slim, and given how new I am to the game I'm up for any class (haven't seriously MMO'd since Everquest 1!)

Would love to join the guild when I have a worthy char. so hopefully a good evil imperial soul will give me a chance if I bug an officer for an invite in the near future?

Bug someone in the OP. We'll get you in, have no fear.

kingschiebi sorry for the rough beat down those couple of matches. You ran into 2 premades and ours was all 50s.

I don't know what you're talking about.
