NFL 2011 Wild Card Playoff Round

Here's a bold prediction for you: the firing of the Polians' means that Peyton Manning will be back and the Colts will not draft Andrew Luck in order to make Manning happy.

I think it means Manning will be back too. I think Isray wanted to keep Manning and the Polian's were pushing for Luck and trading Manning while they could still get some picks or players back or waiving him. They may still draft Luck but start Manning for a year or two. Or maybe they trade down and get a few picks.

That said I don't think the Polians should have been fired. They had how many years of excellent performance? A single season goes bad and they are out the door, not right in my opinion. But Irsay seems to be a kneejerk reaction type owner lately so his behavior does not surprise me.

Even MORE bold prediction (Like how I did that?)

The firing of the Polians guarantees Andrew Luck will go to the Colts, and Peyton will be traded to.....................

The Washington Redskins. Think of it, it's a team that the Colts only play once every 4 years (Colts vs Redskins next in 2013), so it wouldn't hurt the Colts long term. Redskins need a big time QB. AND, more importantly, it pitts Manning vs Manning twice a year.

That would only work if there is a 99% chance of Peyton Manning sucking ass from this day forward.

Bengals vs. Texans
Lions vs. Saints
Falcons vs. Giants
Steelers vs. Broncos... the Tebows always seem to win close games against crippled opponents. Also, this would be proof that God hates the Steelers as much as I do.

Though I wouldn't mind the Broncs beating the Steelers at all, I think that's a greater than safe dosage of wishful thinking. I suspect Troy Polomalu alone may very well put up more points than Tebow.

I just assumed Manning would take over the GM duties?

I mean he's already the coach, right? No need to fire the coach, when Manning calls all the plays anyway.

Picking the upset. Trust to hope.

All I can say is St. Louis, Minnesota, or Cleveland are going to draft Justin Blackmon before Tampa does at #5 and I swear I will stab every single resident in those cities.

For those concerned for my own personal safety, I live just outside of Minneapolis, so I don't actually need to stab myself.

Blackmon was an animal last night.

Bengals in a close one.
Lions get the surprise upset.
Giants continue rolling.
Steelers dominate the Tebows.

I was thinking the same thing minus the staging part.

Before you get all excited about Jake, let's see if he can throw fewer than five picks, like the last time he started a playoff game.

Three years later, I'm still not over that one.

Bears GM Jerry Angelo was released.

As a Bears fan I'm fairly happy about this.

My new word for the day is: Polianoscopy.

I'm really glad that Ryan Clark won't be traveling to Denver to play. Dying from playing in a playoff game isn't worth it.

Hey, I'm Chiefs fan! Put down the knife.

Sleeping on the Giants is a mistake. They are healthy, they have a strong running game, a good QB, and a defense that puts a ton of pressure on the QB rushing only four guys. They are built for the playoffs.
As a Packer fan, they are the team I fear the most in the NFC.

Bengals vs. Texans: I think the Texans are a better team as the Bengals slipped into the playoffs.
Lions vs. Saints: The Saints offense along with them playing indoors will allow Brees to put up a ton of points.
Falcons vs. Giants: Giants fan so im picking the Giants. Their D line is healthy and on fire right now. Eli is playing amazing along with Cruz and Nix. I think the D line will put a lot of pressure on Ryan and will not let him get comfortable to throw those deep passes.
Steelers vs. Broncos: Every team has Tebow figured out. As long as they contain him inside the pocket he is boned. The steelers should take this.

Funny, as a Giants fan I fear GB the most. I hope they stay healthy enough for that game assuming they get there. It may just be 07 with Farve all over again

I'm glad none of you are scared of the 49ers. Maybe we'll sneak up on you. :p

It is our first playoffs for most of the team though. So who knows how they will play?

I wish the league rules could get a Polianoscopy.

If there was any doubt about how ridiculous passing stat inflation is right now, the fact that 7 of the top 10 passing yardage seasons were in the past 5 years, with four of them this year, including Matt Stafford coming up just a few yards shy of giving us a third Marino-breaker, you know this sh*t has gone too far.

Chargers are bringing Norv and AJ Smith back. Hmmm.

Martz is out. No surprise.

Missed last week due to the holidays, but it's not like I was in contention anyway.

Texans over Bengals - Last time we played the Bengals, Yates had barely taken any snaps, Andre Johnson was injured, and Foster barely showed up. This time, Yates is mildly injured but more experienced, but we have a fully armed and operational battlesta- er...Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. Texans win another close one, but hopefully not as close as last time.

Saints over Lions - The Saints are rolling while the Lions are stumbling. Brees lights em up.

Giants over Falcons - The Falcons have just been too inconsistent all season long. The Giants are getting hot at just the right time.

Steelers over Broncos - The Steelers do to the Broncos playoff hopes what the Chiefs did to Chris Cooper's foot. Yeah, I went there.

Norv Turner has to have pictures of some member of the Spanos family molesting an underage goat; I can't imagine how he's stuck around this long.

Andy Reid back as well. Not shocked, I suspect "get a real defensive coordinator OR ELSE" was part of the discussion.

Changing my pick from the Bungles to the Texans

Changed my pick from the Bengals to the Texans.. just realized Bengals were 1-7 against teams with a winning record.

{ableist slur}, although I heard a rumor SD was hoping Philly would fire Reid, so he could replace Turner. Love him or hate him, Rex Ryan was right, Turner should have, at the least, taken San Diego to a Super Bowl by now.

What is their record vs teams starting their 4th string QB? Stick with the Bengals, they're out to prove what a mistake Carson Palmer made.

Oh, and thank you for picking the Falcons, all is finally right in the world

This.

Not to mention that four of those 7 losses were to the Ravens and Steelers (the two best teams in the AFC). And one was against San Francisco. The loss to Houston was a close one and was to a much healthier Houston team.
