Blood Bowl: GWJ Slap & Tickle League

Welcome to the GWJ Slap & Tickle League for Blood Bowl!

Rules

Teams will be divided up into 2 leagues: The Slap league, and the Tickle league. Any team can apply to join the Tickle league, but the only way to be eligible to join the Slap league is through good performance through participation in the Tickle league. The sizes of both leagues will be determined each year by the number of participating teams for that particular year.

Each league will have 4-8 teams. After the completion of each season, the top 1 or 2 teams from the Tickle league will be promoted to the Slap league, while the bottom 1 or 2 teams in the Slap league will be demoted to the Tickle league, according to the chart listed below. The rankings for teams will be determined by the league playoff results. If more then 2 teams ever need to be promoted, then the tiebreakers used shall be;
1) Head-to-head record during the regular season.
2) Regular season record.
3) A new head-to-head game played before the start of the new season.

League Setup
8 teams: 4 Slap, 4 Tickle, 1 team promoted/demoted at end of season
9 teams: 4 Slap, 5 Tickle, 1 team promoted/demoted at end of season
10 teams: 4 Slap, 6 Tickle, 1 team promoted/demoted at end of season
11 teams: 4 Slap, 7 Tickle, 1 team promoted/demoted at end of season
12 teams: 6 Slap, 6 Tickle, 2 teams promoted/demoted at end of season
13 teams: 6 Slap, 7 Tickle, 2 teams promoted/demoted at end of season
14 teams: 6 Slap, 8 Tickle, 2 teams promoted/demoted at end of season
15 teams: 7 Slap, 8 Tickle, 2 teams promoted/demoted at end of season
16 teams: 8 Slap, 8 Tickle, 2 teams promoted/demoted at end of season

Between seasons, if teams from the Slap league choose to not play the next season, those teams will be counted as the team(s) that would have been demoted to the Tickle league. If needed, additional teams from the Tickle league will be promoted to fill out any openings in the Slap league. Those additional teams will be the next highest ranked team(s) that have not already been selected for promotion.

The first season will be a play-in league. The format of the play-in league will be determined once the number of teams that are participating are determined. For the first year of the league, only newly created teams with a TV value of 1000 or less will be eligible to join.

Games should be completed within a week of the advancement of the league schedule. Exceptions can be made, but I would like to limit them in order to keep the league moving forward. If a league match cannot be played for some reason, both teams will be awarded with a tie, unless there are exceptional circumstances given.

Signups

If you wish to participate, simply post that here. I will be taking applications until Wednesday, January 4th, after which time I will figure out the setup for the play-in league, and get the league(s) setup in game. Once all teams have joined, play will begin.

Me too.

Tickle me silly. Now I need to do some Blood Bowl training again. Been forever since I played.

Puttin' on the tape Coach.

Don't know what I'll bring, but I'm in.

Tickle me! Wait, that sounds wrong . . . how about, may I join the Tickle league?

I'm in.

I'm installing my copy, gonna give the game a try. If I like it, I'll join in.

I'm up for some multiplayer fun after picking up the game in the last sale. Will help me practise for when we start playing it in real life.

Important note: If you are going to sign up to be in this league, please make sure that you'll be able to commit yourself to 1 game a week for a couple months. I'm going to shoot for having anywhere between 6-10 regular season games each year, not counting playoff games.

Oh, I'll commit to as many games as I can play! I'm moved in to the new house and have internet up and running. I have the next 2 days off with the wonderful wife declaring that I don't have to do anything for those two days. If you want an open game hit me up. I'll probably throw out an event or two myself.

For the record, you were the least of my worries.

I'd like to play this weekend, but tomorrow is all about getting ready for the New Year's party, then Sunday is all about recovering from the New Year's party.

I'm in. Haven't decided whether to bring my crippled Chaos team over from Iron or my Dorfs from the Bronze. Or start a new one. Decisions, decisions!

Nightmare, I think the plan is for all new teams.

Even despite the time gap (I'm in the U.K) I can safely commit to a match a week. Just ask the Madden guys if you want some references. I don't mind staying up to the small hours on this side of the pond. Oh yeah put me down for tickle league.

Yep, at least for the first season. It seems the most fair thing to do, as we will all be playing to get into the Slap league for the 1st season. I'm thinking I might relax that rule for season 2 and onwards, since all teams new to the league will have to start in Tickle regardless.

AH! But Lars, you said

That should allow his crippled Chaos team to join

Don't close that loophole! I had plans on bringing a team with over a million in the bank to the league by dumping most of the players and the rerolls and filling the squad with rookies, then once accepted into the league buying more players and rerolls!!!!!1!!!!111!1

MWah hahahha!!!

Spoiler:

I wasn't really

I'm in!!

Oops, sorry. I guess I was not paying attention.

And Prozac is a meanie - making fun of my poor hobbled Chaos squad

You should challenge me to an open league match to get revenge!

The first half of this month is really jammed up for me, though I should be able to sneak a game a week in. Please add me to the list.

I'll join you friend

I should know better by now to have Prozac read any rules I write up before I post them. If anyone is better at finding loopholes, well, I haven't met that person yet. Rules updated in bold!

I'll have no idea what I'm doing, but I'll play.

Legion, get into the open league and play a few matches.

Yes, play my lizardman team a few times. They're not very good or so Prozac tells me *wink at Prozac*.

Jerkface...

I'm sadly going to have to bow out of the league. Looking over my kid's after-school schedule for the next couple of months I'm not certain I'd be able to guarantee I'd be able to get a match in a week. Should there be a league over the summer though, I'm there!

Sorry to see you had to bail out, Staked. Hope to see you sign up for season 2, which should hopefully be starting around end of March.

Looks like we got 14 teams. Hmmm. I'm going to think about it, then post rules tonight on how I'll be wanting to handle the first season. Time for supper!
