If you decide to roll a character on a PvP server create it on Vulkar Highway. My guild is on that server (Republic).

I suspect that, like with all other mmo's that have pvp servers, that will settle down within a month and (d)evolve into the standard pvp server environment where most world pvp consists of nothing more than level-capped folks ganking everyone under the cap or griefing people trying to organize a raid or community event.

That's my take on it. PvP servers: Fun for a month, then 6 years of frustration.

Sorry missed this, I can post the links when I get through this time in the office. But here is a screen grab to hold you over

That's a cluster. A lag-filled, terrifying cluster. I'll stick to PvE.

A queue at 9:30am?

That is impressive.

Well, it is release day.

So what are you guys doing since we can't play tonight?

I finally installed battlefield 3.

Come play BF3 on the TacticalGamer.com servers! I'll be there.

Should be playing on our servers :P

I don't always play milsims, but when I do, I like them to be obsessive.

I'll check them both out now that I spent 45 minutes talking to EA tech support.

Ok, so this is what happened. I put the disc in to install, it loads up origin (which was already running) and asks me for my CD key, I input it and it tells me that it's wrong. Ok? So I then try to redeem the code directly into origin and it says it's in use. Ok? I guess I need to call tech support... blah.

45 minutes after that I have a new code in (what happened to my old code?) and I'm downloading. I'm getting pretty good speeds and then *bam* auth servers drop and download stops... at %99.79.

/sigh

thanks, EA. I have big hopes for Mass Effect 3.

Wow.. people have already managed to gen codes for this? That doesn't bode well at all.

Oh no, not that I'm aware of (but Lain might ask for some in the trading thread). That was battlefield 3 and I think the first time I entered the code it registered but origin messed it up.

This. Every PvP server I have ever played on. No reason to believe TOR will be any different.

The weak perish and the strong survive. Such is the way of pvp life

Between the cynical realism and a fantastic first experience on the Esseles with a couple of fellow Grey Council folk, I guess I am not going anywhere. Will probably toggle that PVP flag permanently soon, however.

Is there any benefit from Reverse Engineering purple level crafted items? Can you unlock alternate purple level items by doing it?

bit of irony in that post.

Tigerbill wrote:

Dont believe so or it's very very rare for it to happen.

I have RE'd purple before and got my rare item back though.

I figured as much. I know you can RE Blues and get alt versions, so I wasn't sure if the same applied to purples.

Is there a decent crafting guide anywhere yet? I've just got my first orange gear & am trying to understand where the mods come from to upgrade it...

I've been thinking of trying PvP with my BH Merc alt. I've played her solo and, gotten her off the starting planet. Is there any certain PvP instance that is easier on noobs; can you pick which ones you play? Does it help if you are grouped up and communicating or can you solo them enjoyably?

You can buy some mods in Dromund Kaas using the commendations.

Is commendations the only way to get mods? Or is there a crafting skill that can generate them?

Cod wrote:

That, I don't know.

Cod wrote:

No and different crafters do different mods. My Armstech (Weapons) does barrels and such for you guessed it weapons.

Any my Cybertech, around level 170 skill right now, can make a couple of the mods that armor and weapons use.

How does the game run on lower end machines?

I thought I was skipping this one but the enablers all across the interwebs are strong, so now I'm teertering.

My 5 year old pc runs WoW well but stutters with SC2.

Please give me a reason not to buy.

What are the system requirements for the game?
Processor:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better
Operating System:
Windows XP or later
RAM:

Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM
Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.

Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:

ATI X1800 or better
nVidia 7800 or better
Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better
DVD-ROM drive – 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play.

I'm afraid I can neither enable or disable you. However, those are the minimum specs.
