NFL 2011 Week 15

Shouldn't you be out shopping instead of reading this thread?

Browns 3 - Steelers 14: The Ballad of Big Ben continues. I swear, if you break the guy's leg he'll still keep playing.

Texans 20 - Bengals 19: Don't look now, but Houston is in the playoffs without...well, a lot of people.

Vikings 28 - Lions 34: Think maybe Detroit's finally got its act together?

Saints 22 - Titans 17: More on New Orleans in a second, but Tennessee's shot at the postseason is fading fast.

Eagles 26 - Dolphins 10: This actually was the Philadelphia team that lived up to the hype. Too late, though.

Chiefs 10 - Jets 37: Ditto on Mark Sanchez and New York, but they have a better shot of getting into the postseason as a wild card, which is familiar turf for them.

Patriots 34 - Redskins 27: That was way closer than one should have expected, thanks to New England's defense.

Falcons 31 - Panthers 23: Matt Ryan just out Cam Newtoned Cam Newton.

Buccaneers 14 - Jaguars 41: 'Stache Effect?

Colts 10 - Ravens 24: No surprise here. Well, except maybe that Baltimore didn't crack the 30 mark on the score board.

Bears 10 - Tebows 13: Why did Costas do another piece on Tim Tebow during SNF's half time? It's not like Tebow and Denver haven't done this before.

49ers 19 - Cardinals 21: A lot of people said that San Francisco would coast through the remainder of their division schedule and clearly they're wrong. They may also be wrong about the Niners being the second best team in the NFC, a title which should shift over to New Orleans.

Raiders 16 - Packers 46: Plainly no contest here.

Bills 10 - Chargers 37: Ditto.

Giants 37 - Cowboys 34: You know, Dallas, maybe you shouldn't try kicking field goals anymore. Just go for it.

Rams 13 - Seahawks 30: It's any wonder the MNF crew doesn't go stir crazy on the air with the glut of lousy games they're forced to cover.

Week 15 Pick 'Em: Hmmmm, for a week that was supposed to be hard, there certainly were quite a number of you who had clean slates. Check it:

And for this week, we have...

Patriots at Broncos: Usually I try to avoid picking the same teams in back to back weeks, but how could you even begin to avoid this match-up? Considering how New England almost let Rex Grossman beat them this past Sunday, you'd think Denver would have a decent shot at winning. However, you can't come back from a 20+ point deficit in the last 2:00 minutes of a ball game even if you are The Chosen Tebow. Patriots.

Eagles at Jets: Say hello to the Victims of Hype Bowl Or The Overweight Head Coaches On The Hot Seat Bowl or...pick one yourself. Both teams in the past week played like the teams they were supposed to be...against mediocre teams who promptly fired their head coaches the following week. Question is, who wants the sandvich more?

IMAGE(http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/3680/andyreidheavy.jpg)

Apologies to Nightmare and in spite of that picture...Jets.

Ravens at Chargers: Again, like I said I try to avoid repeating myself, but this one is interesting in that the biggest disadvantage against Baltimore is having to travel to the West Coast just as San Diego seems to be getting something going in December. Still, don't see the Chargers being able to bottle up Ray Rice. Ravens.

Steelers at 49ers: This got a lot more interesting in the past week. Big Ben was injured and his ability to start is still an open question. James Harrison was suspended for the helmet-to-helmet hit on Colt McCoy. Patrick Willis is hurt. And perhaps most critical, San Francisco has the worst red zone offense in the NFL. That isn't going to get it done either here or in the post season. Steelers.

For my wild card, I'm taking the Packers over the Chiefs, mainly because I don't want to be one of those folks who keep picking whoever's playing against the Colts.

Enjoy the week, folks.

MNF 49ers. Not as exited about it as I should be. Arizona (and the refs) left a sick feeling in my stomach Sunday.

Patriots at Broncos: Bad offense vs. bad defense, good offense vs. good defense. That being said, this is one of those "seriously, you need to score more than 15 to win" games. And Denver can't score that much.

Eagles at Jets: A decent QB can really exploit the vulnerabilities in the Eagles' linebackers. Hey, look, it's Mark Sanchez.

Ravens at Chargers: Chargers in December, good. At home.

Steelers at 49ers: Steelers are playing really well, and the 49ers are really, really not.

Per usual, Cowboys at Bucs: I will probably set myself on fire about six minutes into this game.

Patriots
Jets
Ravens
Steelers

Wild Card: Packers over Chiefs

Patriots at Broncos: Patriots- Going to be a great game and i'm getting tired of Tebow talk.
Eagles at Jets: Jets- Eagles are beaten down Jets are on a heat streak. Also, I hate the Eagles.
Ravens at Chargers: Ravens I always like their D. I think they will hold he chargers at a low score.
Steelers at 49ers: 49ers

Wildcard goes to Giants over Redskins. Giants want to hold their devision pretty badly at this point. Let's hope the injuries dont hurt too much.

Patriots at Broncos: The amount of media jizz that would occur if the Broncos win would fill Cowboys stadium.

Eagles at Jets: I can't quit you Rex.

Ravens at Chargers: I picked the Ravens to win the AFC, this is one of those games that winners win.

Steelers at 49ers: Shocker, but Alex Smith might not be a good QB.

Seahawks at Bears: Bears have no offense, Seahawks have a good defense. Seahawks have a mediocre offense, Bears have a good defense. Water is wet.

Patriots at Broncos: So, if the Broncos score a bazillion points at the end of the game, they'll still be 30 points behind.
Eagles at Jets: This will be one amped up home crowd as many Giants fans will be there.
Ravens at Chargers: If they want the division, they'll have to win.
Steelers at 49ers: If they want the division, they'll have to win.

Wildcard - Lions at Raiders: Make the playoffs, make the playoffs, make the playoffs.

Yep, that game had a pretty high pucker factor, but I felt like Yates could get it done. Surprise!

The Titans are still very much in the playoff hunt. They have the Colts,Jags, and a playoff bound Houston team who will want to rest the big guns. We have to win out and hope the Jets lose at least one.

Rest the big guns? Foster, maybe. He's really the only "big gun" we have left. Tate will still put 150 yards on you.

Doesn't matter I still think the Titans have a chance to win no matter who starts or sits, especially if Locker plays.

Ahem, ITS MY ISLAND!

God will make Brady break his throwing arm.

Brady doesn't need God on his side, he has the refs.

And the Packers have Aaron Godgers on their side.

Patriots at Broncos: Forget it. I'm drinking the Tebow-ade. (Get it? Gatorade? Because Tebow was a Gator? Ge- yeah okay it was lame.)
Eagles at Jets
Ravens at Chargers
Steelers at 49ers

Wildcard: Packers at Chiefs

Given the Pats defense it's not clear to me that they can get a 20 point lead on anyone.

We can worry about which Texans will beat the Titans in week 16, y'all.

What's the story with Carolina, anyway? I thought Cam Newton was leading them to the promised land this year.

Defense sucks. Loads of significant injuries, can't stop anybody, plus Newton's been really good, but he's a rookie, so the usual expected lots of INTs and such.

He's already got them doubling their win total from last year.

There's a reason the Panthers had the #1 overall pick in April. Newton gives them something to build around but there's still lots of building to do.

See the Minnesota game.

The odds of Tom Brady dumbing out three turnovers, including a pick-six < Christian Ponder doing so.

Discount double check!

And my picks:
New England - This is a story about a man named Gronk and his buddy Wes.
Philly - Cheese steaks. I like the ones with provolone and broccoli rab. Also, Mark Sanchez makes me want to make dirty sanchez jokes. I don't like that. Go Eagles.
San Diego - Joe Flacco, having fufilled his role of enticing himself off my fantasy football bench during a bye week, will now fabulously sabotage my fantasy roster. Also, Phillip looks like less of a {ableist slur} sh*t than he did earlier this season.
San Francisco - They come out angry, Pittsburgh just plays ok. Big Ben scrambles a sh*t ton and gives up 2 picks.
Oakland - Raaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiders! They have held me down strong. I think I've liked watching Raider games more than Ravens games this year. f*ck. Even in death Al Davis gets me.

Patriots at Broncos: HE JUST WINS... except when facing a good team.

Eagles at Jets: The Eagles just can't seem to get it together to win against teams with good defenses.

Ravens at Chargers: It's time for SD's traditional late push for the playoffs.

Steelers at 49ers: This is the kind of team SF can beat.

JAX at Atlanta: Back to earth for the Jaguars.

Pats

Patriots at Broncos: Patriots
Eagles at Jets: Jets
Ravens at Chargers: Ravens
Steelers at 49ers: Steelers
Wild Card: Packers at Chiefs: Packers

I'll just leave this here..

Do you feel at all like Squidward saying "all hail the magic conch"?

Patriots at Broncos: Brady > Tebow even with God on his side. Nuff said.

Eagles at Jets: Beagles are done. So is Andy Reid, he just doesn't know it yet. But he suspects, I am sure.

Ravens at Chargers: I hate picking East Coast teams going out to the West Coast, but I think Baltimore has a lot more than SD can handle.

Steelers at 49ers: Another one I hate to pick, but I think the Steelers get it done in a low scoring game.

Wildcard - Packers at Chiefs: Matt Flynn, the Pride of Tyler Texas, gets some more play time in this laugher.
