Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is rumored not to be coming in 2010

What do you mean replace? Add it to the list!

You can't have four things in The Three Box, silly.

I think all hope of ep3 is gone.

If they did make another HL game and I am begining to doubt it, they would most likely just move on to HL3. Frankly I just dont see how they could release that game now with that engine.

Like how DOTA2 and CSGO are using source, Portal2 released less than 7 months ago used it, and that they continue supporting and updating it?

I think the biggest factor against more HL is that they've said making a game like it (single-player, scripted) is a lot of very intensive work for what comes out the other end (X hours of game).

I forget that they continue to refine that engine...

You make a good point it could be just a simple as they dont want to make a long single player game anymore. I sure hope that isnt the case, I despise mulitplayer.

Problem solved: the Pi box!

Three games (HL3, L4D3, and Portal 3) plus one add-on (TF2 content pack adding 14% of a full game release) makes Pi!

This is so perfect for so many reason.

And they continue to update TF2 to the point where it expands nearly indefinitely. Yup, I'm liking the Pi box.

As for continuing Half-Life, I just want the story that they told to be completed. At this point I really don't even care what media that takes place in.

I just want to see the ultimate scene. The one we've been waiting for. The scene where Gordan Freeman meets Chell.

Think about it. Their eyes meet from across the room. There is instant attraction, but because of what they have been through they are both afraid of being to forward. So, they stare at each other, each waiting for the other to say the first word.

It could be the world's longest cutscene!

I'm sure there's a fanfic for that.

I'd rather see Dog play fetch with Wheatley.

There is a rule 34 for that, but it also includes Alyx.

And probably Dog. *sigh*

They're waiting for you, Gordon, in the bedchamber.

New Tweets are out from @Doug_Rattman. Last Tweet says they will send us to someone who knows more than he...

Says it might take 60 days.. Is there something plan video game related in 2 months? (Which would be february, and they did announce the release of Portal 2 last february at valentine day...)

GDC?

Free Episode 3 as promotion for HL3.
Sounds like something Valve would do.

GDC is March 5 - 9, 2012

They're also planning on releasing the shiny new Portal 2 level editor early 2012.

Ah this topic is great. Don't ever change the title.

This. Is. Genius.

Would it be crazy to think that Valve would try out a short announce/release schedule like Apple? They can say "Hey, here is Half Life 3! It will be out in a month"

They did something like that for Alien Swarm. On PC I think they could get away with it, especially as it's a single-player game so there's no big external testing required. I think the main thing that determines it is how big a deal they want to make of it, if they want to sell a decent amount of a big full game, especially on console, they need to hype. If it was a compact episode, I could see that being a quick release.

Could the ARG be that there's no ARG?!!

Ah-ha! I'm on to you Valve!

You're shorting out the processing power of the community because you didn't want them to find out so soon and now you have to make them not look any further! I know the truth, you can't si-

There is no ARG. hat is all.

Why release e-mails, which are text, as images? Unless there's more information hidden in those JPGs...!!

You know, props to whoever posted the rumor that started the thread, because he was right

Because people think it proves they're legit?

Fools! I counted every pixel that looked off from compression, compiled two new images, converted them to audio files, normalized those, converted them again to Commodore 64 files and ran them through an emulator, and believe I have a GPS coordinate (-76 15.0 113 10.0).

I'm headed there, hoping there's a payphone or something. I'll update you guys later. So stoked!
