i get a little of a distant worlds vibe with a little more gloss and a much cooler idea for ship building.

Just read about that. On paper it sounds good.

I tweeted James and requested he revisit DW with Legends, but he said that he preferred to devote his time to new, complete games rather than expansions.

Yeah, he's said the same to me before. It's a shame, but there are a lot of expansions in the world, so ...

Interesting. So with this Kickstarter stuff am I correct that you don't pay anything unless the threshold is met?

Also, from the comments I found another relevant info/news site: http://www.spacesector.com/

I don't know anything about kickstarter, but from the little I read when I went to look at that video I think thats right that if the threshold isn't met you don't pay anything.

Yup, if the final amount isn't met your card doesn't get charged. I totally donated to StarDrive though.

WOOP WOOP incoming purchase, GalCiv2 is on Steam!

Um, hello, let me give you money right now! Oh, you will. THANK YOU INTERNET!

Kickstarter is awesome.

Stardrive looks really neat!

Eeeeexcellent. Only one more game left before I can purge Impulse completely.

Pity. The old CD keys for GalCiv2 on Impulse (*cough* Gamestop) don't seem to work on Steam. Hmmm, about $15 to be one more step closer to removing Gamestop from my system?...

IslandDog said that right after the GameStop buyout when everyone wanted to move their stuff over to Steam. Ain't gonna happen.

Hey kids, I've been quiet on the content front for a bit, but I've got my reasons, and here they are:

So the content shall resume soon. Thanks for your patience and support folks.

Whoa. 6800 GS. Whoa. Wish I had known you were that far back, I've got a couple videocards just lying around that are much better than that.

Oh well, too late. Glad you got the screenshots figured out. I'm still interested in seeing how that game turned out.

Hah, yeah, I built my PC in 2006. It's done me fine for many years, and it's only been within the last 6 months to a year that I actually couldn't run more recent stuff, but I had no idea that the video card was such a detriment to that. Now I'll need a new mobo, CPU and RAM, but I'm happy with everything else I have.

Looks like Black Prophecy has hit open beta. The action space-combat MMO. I'm working through tutorial missions in my spare time. So far I like the combat and visuals, but have yet to dig into the real meat of the missions and crafting. Definitely an enjoyable intro for free.

Thanks for the heads up.

Well lookie lookie, a new X game out of nowhere:

http://www.spacegamejunkie.com/1249/...

Yeah it's posted in the X3TC topic with a video.

Hey guys, the next installment on Arvoch Alliance is up:

http://www.spacegamejunkie.com/1216/...

Enjoy!

OK. My old statement about X3: Terran Conflict needs adjustin' I've played a lot more of it than I realized.

My Steam account says I've played 62 hours of it. I can remember doing three things and a metric sh#t-tonne of trading.

Right, Kickstarter = Pay only if the threshold is met. IndieGoGo = The money is gone whether the goal is met or not.

Hay guise, I dunno if y'all saw this, but The Escapist has a neat, if very incomplete, space sim timeline:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/arti...

Kinda fun to look at, at least.

Just read about that. On paper it sounds good.

Seems worthy enough to throw $10 at. I talked a bit to the author about the single player sandbox mode and that has my interest.

The guy doing StarDrive sent a thank you email. That was very kind of him.

Hey y'all, that StarDrive game reached its funding goals. Yay!

Hey guys, I was able to ask the folks at Egosoft about Albion Prelude, and you can read the answers here:

Enjoy!

Nice!

And shame on you for not loving X3TC.

If I wanna play a business sim, I'll play Capitalism.

Are they really? I thought it was a catch-all term. In fact, Merriam-Webster includes the description, "difficult to comprehend : not clear or precise in thought or expression" under Obtuse. Can't that also apply to things?
