NCAA Football 2011 Season Catch-All

Roll Tide!

Let the hate-fest begin!

Ugh. Tear this BCS contract apart this offseason and have some damn playoffs.

I thought the whole point of re-jiggering the formula a few years ago to get 2/3 of it based on human polls was to keep stupid sh*t like this from happening? What a joke. Voters all drinking the SEC kool-aid.

Ahh, there we go. 1st rant in

Here's some things we already know, and have been said 1000x already:

Alabama & LSU have already played.
LSU won
there weren't any TD's scored
it was boring
Bama missed 4 FG's
it was a snooze-fest
Bama already had their chance
LSU won in Tuscaloosa
Bama did not win the SEC or the SEC west
been there done that
it was an 'ugly game'
OSU can really score some TD's and LSU/OSU would have been more 'exciting'
the BCS sucks
it's not fair

Let's see how many times these things get repeated between now and Jan 9.

So..basically what your making the anti-Alabama argument for us? I wonder, if you stepped out of your Bama shoes for just a second if you could see why a LSU Bama match-up is not the best one for college football.

Jeff - I do understand why you are so happy so I'm not attacking that at all.

Uh, no. As I stated ... "these are things we already know". The implication is that people have made these points umpteen times already.

I'm not "so happy", and am not gloating (I wouldn't do that anyway before a game Bama may well lose). I don't even necessarily disagree with the sentiment, and I've stated numerous times that I think the BCS system is a joke.

So everything that gets posted has to be a totally new nugget of information? That's gonna be tough researching everything to make sure it hasn't been said before.

Or maybe I can just speak my mind and if I repeat myself or someone else, so what? Feel free to ignore it, read over it, skim it, or whatever you choose. I think I'll choose this option. So to answer your original question, I'll say it as often as I feel the need if that's okay.

It's permitted, but it's damn tiresome.

Anyway, the one good thing here is that the BCS is finding a novel way to suck this year. Just in case it still had two or three supporters out there.

The Cotton Bowl against K-State is where my Hogs ended up. I guess South Carolina is best non-BCS Team the SEC. It should be a fun match-up anyway. Two teams with mediocre defense and good offense. Plus I hear that the Cotton Bowl is the stepping stone to a NC.

I can't wait for the meltdown when Alabama wins it by a field goal.

I feel like this game is kind of a no-win situation for Alabama. I guess me and DSG will both be pulling for them.

You'll note that I didn't attempt to forbid your free speech. Nor did I say each thought had to be original. But I think you probably understand the concept of beating a dead horse.

It's your world baby, I'm just rentin' space.

and ...

This.

edit: Coolbeans, take note at Jayhawker's deftly executed copy & paste. You can just do the same if you wish, and save yourself some time.

Virginia made it to the Chick-fil-a bowl! Against...Auburn.

I have a sinking feeling that will be an ugly, terrible game for us. That's what we get for playing so well this year.

Michigan State fans have got to be pretty pissed that Michigan got a BCS bowl when MSU beat them and won their division. This is why conference championship games are stupid.

Ditto. I can 100% honestly say that I would not have gotten my torch and pitchfork if OSU jumped to #2.

That's just because they make you leave them at the border when you enter the paradise we call home.

You can join me in the new thread I created for people who love NCAA football, would like to talk about it and would like to do so without getting flack from SEC and BCS fans.

I thought it was still safe to criticize the BCS and SEC in this thread. What have we become?

Don't worry Auburn is having a down year. There were no all-star QB's up for grabs this year.

Someone "fixing" that to say "up for sale this year" in 3...2...1...

Really? What is that? Was someone attacked or shouted down and I missed it?

Lol the SEC hate is strong.

On another note, I'm super disappointed OSU didn't make it in. Not because I hate bama (I do), but because I think the game would have been more exciting to watch.

It was supposed to be 1/2 joke and 1/2 frustration that SEC fans get so agitated when the BCS and SEC voter preference is criticized. Ironically you seem mad, so the thread is probably needed.

LSU Apparel site hacked. lol

I stole the pics, like I'd need to search for furniture porn.

I never bothered to look at the actual standings earlier.

So OkSt. actually won the computer ranking? But the Harris Poll and USA Today had Alabama at 2. So the whole point of putting a human element in so that the computers wouldn't screw it up has backfired? The computers are right, the people are stupid.

This sh*t can not blow up soon enough.

Saban voted OSU #4. The human element was a complete failure.

I went to Auburn despite being an Alabama fan, but I try to look at them fairly (nowadays). Looking at the latest standings, I have to ask: How on earth are they STILL ranked in the top 25??

Some really crappy bowl matchups (what else is new?), such as Boise St. taking on the 6-6 Arizona State team which fired its coach.

Les Miles voted TCU #21.

Man, TCU went from being a BCS hopeful to now playing Louisiana Tech in the San Diego Credit Union Bowl. Ouch!!! That hurts!

Ole Miss got their man?
