Minneapolis Recurring S&T - March 30th @ 6:30 in Eagan

I've got some tentative plans on 12/3, but they're a little wishy-washy. When are you going to take a hard count? I've been desperately wanting to play some board games (all of my friends are the non-board game brands of nerds).

You allowing us Duluthians to crash the party? 12/3 works for my schedule right now, but I never know what the hell is going on most of the time.

I'm down with 12/3 as well. I'd be up for some Mechwarrior, as well as any other gaming goodness (Board or otherwise). Although I don't have the previously mentioned games (which doesn't matter much as others have them) I have a plethora of other Co-Op games worthy of attention: Pandemic, Shadows over Camelot, Last Night on Earth, A Touch of Evil, Invasion from Outer Space, Fortune and Glory, Castle Panic..

If we can't figure on a place, I also have in my possession a new house with some significant square footage for board games, a fully equipped bar, 70" TV (PS3+Xbox), 4 player Mame Cabinet and an extensive game collection.

I'm also looking for some future/regular local board gaming goodness, sign me up if someone's making a list.

12/3 works for me provided I don't drop dead from all the discount candy corn I seem to be shoving down my piehole as fast as I can.

What art of town are you in?

I'd be all over this.

I would be up for local board gaming goodness too. I am in Shakopee...but willing to drive, since I live so far out.

by the way Fallout Shelter arcade opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday. If we have enough interest, can see about booking it for at least 4 hours, I'm friends with the owners;)

I'm in Eagan, so pretty accessible to anyone located centrally or to the south, seems like everyone I know is moving to the north nowadays though.

I'd be down for a nice block of time at the Mechwarrior pods with some board/video gaming afterward, penning in my calendar for the entirety of that day starting in the afternoon.

Pretty sure that this should all work for me. If we hit up the battlepods, I may have a couple buddies that might want to tag along too. I will post a final number once I'm confirm if they are in ( no more than 3 extras )

No problem, I just need to know the full head count for the owners and what time do we want the battle pods. For example, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc. Generally they are only open 12pm to 8pm Saturday and Sunday. I'll see if we can get any kind of group discount. I have already emailed them saying would like to book them for maybe part of the day. Otherwise we just go in as general admission.

As often happens this time of year, events have begun to slam together like so many stray electrons. That evening, I've got a dinner party I have to go to at 7:30. I volunteered my place for a get together, which I could still do for the afternoon to early evening (Up until about 6:00 PM) but if you're looking to go evening -> Late, I've gotta back out of hosting.

Dare I propose this as a possible schedule:

Noon-> 2:00 Battlepods
2:00 -> 6:00 Games of many kinds at my place?
6:00 -> ? For the remaining brave souls ELewis17 had offered up his place in the first place, you could possibly relocate and hang there?

Or was everyone thinking of getting together starting later (7:30 was floated in the beginning), in which case, you're still going to be need that venue.

Wow . . . sounds nice. If only I lived close.

Oh, wait, as am I. John, you need someone to play some board games with, I'd join up. I'm reasonably new to "real" board games and only have Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Dominion, and Ticket to Ride (otherwise known as "good strategy games my really smart nine-year-old can play"), but would be up for other things. As a form of bribery, I'm a beer geek who always has ridiculous amounts of craft beer laying about.

Mechwarrior pricing:
$10 an hour a person if we don't want the place to ourselves. Normally for booking the whole place they like to book outside normal hours for $150 an hour. If we book within the hours its $200 for the first/last two hours(12pm to 2pm or 6 to 8) From 2-6 its $250 an hour. So, might be better if we don't have enough people to just do everyone brings $20 and that will cover each person from noon to 2 and gets you as many games as they can fit you in.

that pricing structure sounds weird to me,
Found the "website"

LOL Assuming I'm not out of town I can probably do the battlepods, as it's about 3 blocks from my job.

Shrug, just reporting what I have been told. They have had to raise their prices a bit.

I work in Eagan. So if you need another person, let me know.

I would be interested in a 12/3 meetup. It would be my first. Don't have most of the "newer" boardgames but I've got Talisman if anyone's interested.

I'll pencil myself in for 12/3. umm, I can bring Candyland or Chutes and Ladders. whichever one my 3 year old will let me take.

Sorry, I have not been around to tend this thing at all lately. Life has been nuts.

Sounds like the game plan is battlepods in the afternoon and games in the evening. We need a venue suitable for 8-10 people to hang out at. Preferably down south somewhere, as it seems that's where most of you live. I can seat six at my kitchen table, and would be willing to host, but I'm up in Maple Grove, and it will be a bit cramped. Any volunteers for hosting would be appreciated.

Let's get some times set in stone. I'm available anytime after 3PM on Saturday.

The 3rd still works for everybody, right? I wouldn't be upset if we moved to the 10th, but I can make either weekend work.

I can host. I have your traditional big suburban house, and my wife's dinner parties regularly seat more than 8-10 people. We can camp out in my basement and that should keep the sound reasonably down to not annoy the wife and kids too much; can set up tables for board games and play video games on the big TV. I can get out the Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, and other old systems, and anyone who comments about how crappy the graphics look I can send outside and then tell everybody to get the hell off of my lawn.

Johnvanjim had also said he'd host (apparently Eagan rules for hosting), either works for me.

So meet up at the battlepods at 12pm. Address is 451 Taft St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. Enter through door number 40 and follow the signs for Fallout Shelter. Its only a few blocks off of 35w, kinda close to the University.

Sadly, I won't be able to make it. My wife scheduled a family photo session in the middle of the afternoon.

Count me in for the Battlepods at Noon. Milkman, if you want to host, it might work out better in the long run, as I've got go bolt by 6:00 due to Dinner Party plans.

I still want to get a good group together for some regular board gaming goodness in the future, perhaps we can has that out a bit at the get together. Also, I'll bring a variety of the latest and/or greatest co-op games to wherever.

fyi, just got the flu, hopefully better by then. Also, if I am able to make the battlepods, I most likely won't be able to do the afterwards gathering. I just got informed today by my boss I'll be in Texas Sun-Wed, and need spend some time with my wife before I go:)

So, how many of us are in for Saturday?

I'm in. I can't leave the house until 3:00 though.

So gameplan is BattlePods until 4-5, and then Danimal's place for board games and some console stuff, right?

I'll bring what BGs I have.

Peeps should PM me their numbers, so we can get times and addresses worked out.

Uhh Battlepods is from noon to 2.....and that's all the time I can commit to tomorrow. Since I'm travelling Sun-Wed for work, have to work on wife faction before I leave.

I'm up for whatever from Noon until 5:30 or so. Was planing on being at the Battlepods at Noon and seeing what happens from there. I'll have some games packed in the car trunk ready to be played.

I like the idea of the battlepods, but I'm probably only down for a couple of hours of it straight..

I have a friend coming in from New York, so I won't be able to make it this time around. Really bummer out, but I haven't seen this guy in a few years, and he has yet to meet my new little girl.

I am going to have to back out as my wife has other plans and I need to watch the little one. I would be interested in meeting up for a semi-regular board gaming night in the future.

Soooooo . . . should be a small gathering?
