Show us your Dovahkiin

Pages

PC gamer has up a fantastic quick article with some of their characters from Skyrim. I was fascinated by how different the approach other folks took to the game than myself.

Here's my Dovahkiin, J'Darzi the Silent:

IMAGE(http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/630730982018627948/21AF9EDF2C9BE827D8FA35F33B64941AA819C040/)

Aside from dragon-slaying, J likes long walks in dungeons, stealth-assassinations with daggers and bows, and a good bit of firey magical destruction.

Who is your Dovahkiin?

Funny that he's "silent," yet one of his unique abilities is to scream at things.

How do I take a pic?

So... who's crotch is that behind Gaukr?

Re-posting from the Catch-all thread. This is Gaukr Kristofferson:

IMAGE(http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/650997180322052354/B0A975101294C1B7659BF37B20E640945B56B9DC/)

Surname from my real-life first name, and Gaukr is from an old Norse word meaning mentally deficient. Since I'm still suffering the cognitive after-effects of my brain issues from this past spring, it seemed appropriate.

Gaukr is also a stealthy sneak-thief. He's the current head of the Thieves' Guild in Skyrim, and has just come into a large collection of spiffy Dark Brotherhood armor.

Spoiler:

By wiping them out. Kidnapping the Dovahkiin was a poor choice on their part.

Edit to add

Any game that supports the Steam overlay now has built-in screenshot and upload functionality. I think the default key is F12 to take a screenshot, and you'll be presented with all your current screenshots to upload / delete upon exiting the game (or by choosing to view them through the Steam overlay).

Vastly underrated feature.

Hah - well-spotted. I didn't even notice that was in the shot.

I'm not sure lore-wise if it's a spoiler to say, so I'll err on the side of caution.

Spoiler:

He's a Falmer. Some of the Dwemer ruins are positively crawling with those guys.

Why it might be a spoiler: I think the Elder Scrolls lore has them listed as having disappeared after being driven off by the Nords, to the point where many think their existence is a myth.

Poor Gaukr's mascara is running.

I don't have nearly cool enough gear for a screenshot yet. Soon, though, perhaps.

I still can't get Steam screenshots to work. I wonder if it's because I'm using a controller so it's ignoring the keyboard. But, I'm still able to bring up the console so I don't know what's going on.

Skyrim does have a built-in screenshot feature. Hit the print screen button and it'll save somewhere in the Skyrim directory (I haven't gone looking for them yet).

MF Doom?

Does this play when you're wandering the lands?

This is Mappo:

I'm pretty sure Mappo doesn't have a beard in the series, but I got the eyes, tusks and hair sort of right, which is all a man would ever need.

Also, I enjoy a good beard.

Here's Viktria, my character based off the old Nightblade class (mage/rogue). I always roll a Bosmer Nightblade in my Elder Scrolls games first up, it's tradition! This is the first time they've been female however. She uses magic and a bow for distance fighting, then busts out her twin frost enchanted orcish axes, Shiver and Frostbite when things get close. She's upgraded to Elven Armour since this shot was taken.

I also have a Breton Mage on my laptop, might get around to posting him a bit later.

My character looks exactly the same :[
Wish you could find better mage gear than that

Grozish the Patient in a set of orcish armor, hand crafted a moment earlier.
The shield looks a bit dodgy from this perspective, but believe me, it's a fine piece of orsimerian craftsmanship.

Aerick the Unseen, Thane of Whiterun, Thane of Markarth, Leader of the Companions, etc. etc. etc.

I had just killed a blood dragon and then a giant came up behind me and whacked me. Let's just say I was surprised. It just happened to occur right as I was absorbing the soul.

Here is mine, she is a Breton with focus on Destruction, Conjuration, Blocking and Light Armor. Shield bashing interrupts just about everything, it is awesome. Most dragons end up with a broken nose before I burn them to a crisp.

Have not used stealth even once. I wade head first into every fight fire at the ready. That is a huge change from how I played Morrowind and Oblivion.

Thought it might be fun to do a "Where's Dovahkiin?" game. Go somewhere recognizable, take a screenshot, and see if folks can identify where you are. I'll go first, with an easy one.

(If there's interest and/or this is an overly-distracting derail, I'm happy to spin up a separate thread).

I'm more curious about how you got up there. Were you able to shimmy along that little ledge?

Whirlwind sprint got me onto the ledge above the dragon skull (after several tries). Then, as the geometry slowly sloughed me off, I swung the camera around for a shot.

Took longer than I'd care to admit, but I wanted to give a fun first post, to see if there was any interest.

My Nord warrior, with the fantastically original name of Vega, who specializes in 2-handed axes. He's blind in one eye and has 4 jagged scars across his face from a near fatal encounter with a Frost Troll. Frost Trolls are a**holes.

Ok that looks pretty cool u_u

Well, apparently, we all fail. Here's the real deal.

Today we congratulate proud parents Megan and Eric Kellermeyer for completing the quest. As noted on their webcomic site (and documents shared with us), Megan gave birth to Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer last Friday at 6:08 pm PST.

Be it the real world or the game worlds we create, we wish young Dovahkiin the best in all his adventures. And if Alduin ever reaches this realm, we’ll be in touch.

This is Thorvald. His interests include hitting things with an axe, yelling, and making funny outfits out of dragon parts. He also suffers from a rather embarrassing condition that causes icicles to protrude from his head.
