Some reviews of an XBLA game called "Fusion: Genesis"

http://n4g.com/news/883897/fusion-ge...

It's a twin-stick shooter set in space with some RPG elements, lots of missions for factions and 4 player co-op. It's not the full Elite/Privateer experience, but has some elements. I'm going to try out the demo tonight if I get a chance.

It's getting a lot of positive talk over at Qt3, with the caveat that there's a lot to learn that the game doesn't really tell you about. To me, it looks very Armada-ish.

Played the XBL demo, liked it a lot. But don't have the time for new games, just yet. Have too many on the pile. But I might come back to this.

Speaking of Space I, I just discovered this blog post telling the story behind it.

The blog that's from, The Digital Antiquarian, has a lot of interesting stuff about the early days of computer games with a focus on adventure gaming.

Dude, nice find, thanks!

Hay guys, there's a ton of space games on sale right now, so I put 'em all together in one post:

Independence War 2 is in that list. So tempted to pick it up, and would but for lack of time.

I would eat shattered glass for another deep, newtonian physics based space piloting masterpiece.

Evochron Mercenary offers newtonian physics and is pretty deep.

Looking to Play AI War.

Sorry if I made invitations to others to play AI War and then didn't follow through. MW3 happened.

I am ready to go now. I know a couple of you expressed interest so hit me up and let's play some co-op.

Hey y'all, I just wrote a stream of consciousness article about why I never PvP in spacey MMO's. It was kind of an interesting conclusion:

I hope y'all like it.

Took a look at it - might have to give it a whirl on my next big break. Thanks!

The demo in the game is the full game on a timer, so you might want to start there.

Evochron was hard for me compared to X3:TC. The missiles in Evochron are strong and the enemies I fought were shooting a lot of them at me. The game is well made , and it's still patched with new features but the graphics are a little old. The ship navigation is more real which means it the ship gets some inertial vector so in order to maneuver you have to counter it with your engines . This makes flying a lot different but you have more options. Flying on planets has some basic aerodynamics (I don't think the ship's shape matters) and your fuel supply is also limited (for both space flight and aerial flight ).

Wow. Never thought this would happen.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity is on Steam for $14.99 USD.

Anyone know if we can transfer our Stardock/Impulse copy of SINS to our Steam accounts?

Nope. Island Dog already posted in the announcement thread:

No, only Steam purchases will be available there. You cannot register the games which were bought previously.

Nope. Official thread -http://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com... - Island Dog's response down the thread to that question is: "No, only Steam purchases will be available there. You cannot register the games which were bought previously."

EDIT: Ninja'd *mutter grumble*

I think Evochron might be harder because there's more "there" there, i.e. more stuff to do, shoot at, places to go, etc etc.

There's more to do in Evochron than X3? I've been tempted to grab one of the Evochron games a few times in the past. I still haven't got around to digging into X3:TC.

I thought so. The universe in the X games always felt empty to me. Missions weren't as easy to find as they could be, the trade runs felt bland and...I dunno, it just felt so...arbitrary and dull...

Evochron has listings of missions -- which I love to do -- in every station, and these can range from races to spy missions and so on. I also love that you can do stuff on planets as well. Multiplayer also adds to the fun as well. I felt like I never ran out of things to do and see in Evochron, whereas in the X games, I stopped playing after an hour or two.

Dang. I had swapped my copy of Space Pirates and Zombies over to Steam when it went gold. The developer(?) gave us codes to do it. I was hoping for the same from SINS.

Now for the crazy question: Who is going to buy it (again) on Steam just to have it on Steam?

I did. I will not ever install Impulse again. Doubt I will ever check out my free copy of Fallen Enchantress.

I thought that Sins was incredible, and while the average game takes more time than I have to play, I like to reward creativity & innovation. Plus, I never played the expansions.

I will, but I'll wait for a sale. $10 or cheaper, since I still don't have Diplomacy.

I'm considering rebuying it at $15. I don't have Diplomacy either, so it's not much added cost to get it on Steam. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should just wait for Rebellion though. From what I've read so far it looks like Rebellion includes Trinity. Hopefully someone can correct me if that's wrong.

Rebellion is a standalone. I think it will have a lot of the same ships and stuff, but it's a separate game.

Just grabbed it. Already had SoaSE and Entrenchment. For $15, this was a no-brainer to get it on Steam.

I'll be picking it up. I had vanilla Sins and kept an eye out for Trinity on sale for Impulse, but if I can get it on Steam I'll buy that no questions asked.

THE REAL QUESTION: Will I ever get my beloved GalCiv2 on Steam?

Apparently more Stardock games will be coming to Steam, according to Brad Wardell. I don't see the need to buy these twice, but it's a nice option for those who haven't already.

I'd buy GalvCiv 2 again on Steam. Just for convenience sake.

I'll wait until they fall into the "ridiculously cheap" range. Let's see if they're in the holiday sale.

There's a new combat-focused space sim out by the same guy who brought us the Evochron games. It's called Arvoch Alliance:

http://www.starwraith.com/arvochalli...

And it looks pretty damned neat. I'll be getting a copy as soon as I can and then posting about it on my blog soon. Yay new space sim!

Oh wow, I was looking at that all of two days ago. When you clicked on the "Buy now" it took you to a "Coming Soon" page. I just wanted to know when it'd be coming out ... turns out soon. Like, two days later.

I didn't even know it EXISTED two days ago. I feel so silly for missing this somehow.
