The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Mod Thread

That sharpening mod looks superb on Ultra settings. Thank you for linking it.

if you want different items in each hand with different hotkeys on them press the two hotkeys simultaneously. ie I have clairvoyance bound to 3 and an attack spell on 4, so if I'm switching from my sword and board I hold down 3 and 4 and it puts one spell in each hand instead of just replacing the shield.

Ok i just went and tried this and couldn't get 2 1H weapons to go in right and left hand respectively simulataneously pressing the two buttons, does this work for anyone else?

I've only tried it with spells, Will try with weapons later.

Does anyone have the problem that the vertical mouse sensitivity depends on frame rate? It's super annoying. If I'm inside a small hut it's extremely sensitive and if I'm looking out over an entire city it's super slow.

Not sure about that one Kyrieee, mine seems fine. Have you tried disabling mouse acceleration? Check here for instructions.

Shows computer time on load screens.

**Edit- Apparently it just shows the computer time. Me no read good.

Skip the Bethesda intro movie.

I want a mod that changes the compass icon depending on what type of quest it is.

Also would like one that splits save games into Toon names so its easier to have alts.

Hit the tilde to open the console, then type "save x" no quotes, x=what ever you want to name it

Yep, there's an eight page thread in the support forums about that issue. There's a dozen different tweaks in there, though I haven't found any that fix it, only mitigate the issue. Turning VSYNC on will likely solve it, but then you may have to contend with input lag.

It's actually easier just to rename or delete the bgs_logo.bik file in that directory (\data\video). It's what I did and it works for me.

The thing with that is when steam comes around to checking the files, such as when a patch is released, it will redownload the file.

Well this game has the most unintrusive splash screen of any major release I've played in ages. That one Bethesda logo doesn't bother me at all. Compare it with an EA game, ugh.

Agreed. Way better than something like Borderlands, which has... 5? 6? I don't remember, I go make myself a drink while it runs through them all.

I did the no more blocky faces one and it's great.

Wow, already? I might have to grab the faces and the blood one tonight. The fauna one looks promising also.

Has anyone tried the Large Address Aware patch? Does it actually make a difference?

I'll put this here. It changes the Elven armor into something a little more stealth.

What are people modding with? Is there a version of the Construction Set for the new engine out yet?

It's not out yet, it will probably come in the next few weeks.
Right now people are modding using game file changes. So editing texture files, INIs, ect

Found my first bug that needs addressing with mods. Doing a miscellaneous radiant quest. The quest giver gets turned into a pile of ash. I can not turn in the quest item that weighs 2, nor can I sell it or clear the quest from my log. So, stuck carrying around a gold statue of a half naked lady for all eternity here. I guess there are worse fates.

Those are some good mods, thanks for the link. I'll be trying out the faces and large address mod tonight. It'd be nice to have the game actually use my 8GB of RAM.

Thanks for the mods so far guys. All working great, as is the Enhanced Night Sky. I'm really loving that.

Edit: Nope, I don't know what I was thinking. Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up sniffing glue.

It's a checkbox in the launcher.

And off by default for me.

I have to try this one. I was dumbfounded that I couldn't assign hotkeys to my weapons and had to use the favorites, but maybe I just missed it.

I wish having multiple of a hotkeyed weapon didn't break the hotkey. I know a world this vast, varied, and variable is hard to test, but this is a basic mechanical feature, not Crimestoppers: Barnyard Division.

I hope it is fixable with a mod.

The flora overhaul one has been nice so far; I used Vurt's texture replacements in New Vegas (though not his .esp files, as they tended to make some weird things happen in my game), and the pine trees look quite nice.

Sweet! Good old longtime modder Xodarap777 has sniffed out a couple of settings to make your life a bit more miserable (no download required).
You can (via console) enter:
player.setav healrate 0.0 (default 0.7)
to disable the auto-health-regeneration (yessss!)
as well as
player.setav SpeedMult 90 (default 100)
to lower the player's movement speed (crouch/un-crouch to enable value change)
These can of course be set to other values, so if you fancy yourself a rocket ship or a god-among-men you can probably set these values in the other direction. Changed values should persist in save data.

I tried something similar with payer.setav carryweight xxx to change encumbrance - I know it will screw me later but I hate the idea of being able to carry 5 suits of armor with me - but could not seem to get it to stick across loads.
Maybe I didn't actually save, I don't know.

In the meantime you can work around it fairly easily by either upgrading one at a blacksmith or (better yet) enchanting them and giving them different names.
