The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Catch-All

I turned the HUD opacity all the way down. This is Awesome. I was hunting an elk, accidentally fired an arrow at a friendly elf whom I mistook for my prey. Crap! Spent the next few minutes trying to get close enough to beg forgiveness rather than kill him; it worked.

Love, love, love it.

This is for the thieves, a tutorial of sorts on how to steal stuff

Still cracking me up few hours after I first saw it.

How did you ask for forgiveness?? I was in the first town, decided to see how much meat was on a chicken. Apparently that is a crime, and the lady who is supposed to offer you help started attacking me! I holstered my weapon, was clicking E to activate, but she just kept punching. All of this over a dead chicken?!

I ran up to him, put my bow away, and hit X (activate? Not sure what the exact translation to keyboard would be). He said, "I will let you live...this time." Perhaps reaction response has to do with my character?

Turns out you can't live on frootloops and Skyrim gameplay alone. Must eat something today.

CS's numbers barely budging haha, they play CS no matter what.
Also, Skyrim is at 198k atm. That's the most I've seen in four years (CS used to have 300k+)

An NPC's acceptance of your yield has always been conditional on a number of factors, such as the character's disposition towards you and your relative levels.

Anyone else having issues where you lost the ability to run/jog? Im in the middle of my first dungeon and this has happened twice now. Not crouching or sneaking either. (360)

The snow effects in this game are so beautiful. Also, the sound of your feet crunching on snow is excellent. I wish it snowed more where I lived.

I also can't read the loading tips fast enough, and my rig is not that fast.

Have you picked up too much loot? If you become encumbered, you can no longer run.

Nevermind.. just realized I'm carrying too much.

The reversable cover for the dvd case is pretty sweet.

Well forget it, then... cross posting.

Heretic! Man shall live on Skyrim alone!

No, just kidding.
Sadly, I had to go to work today, so I got an hour in this morning before everyone woke up and I had to head to the office.

Is there anyway to tell if npc's are hostile from a distance, if they aren't on my radar?

Wait, there's a radar?

Unrelated question, how is the music played around combat? Is it the same as Oblivion where the moment something spots you and turns hostile it changes to a combat track so you know to stop what you're doing and fight/flight?

Anyone have a screenshot of how night vision looks for the cat people?

Turns out it's awful hard to live off of 2 hours of sleep also.

Radar is built into the compass at top.

No, the music is much better. I have, no joke, just waltzed into 3 bandit hideouts and only knew they were bandits when the first arrow went zinging by my head. You are well into combat before the music ramps up. At least that has been my experience. The music in general feels like it's much more in the background than it was in Oblivion.

Has anyone figured out where to see if/what diseases you have? Or which blessing you currently have and what it does? I've been all over the UI and the internet and I have not seen anything yet.

The information you seek will eventually be here:

http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Disease

For now, though, it's probably safe to assume that most of the diseases are similar to the Oblivion ones, listed here:

http://uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Disease

Not sure about blessings since I don't have the game yet, but if they are like the blessings from Oblivion's wayshrines they are probably a wide assortment of resistances and stat buffs.

Yep I know what they are, my problem is where they are. In the UI.

Now, see, what I meant was, you also have to steal some of your kid's haloween candy; but only the peanut butter ones that he doesn't like.

I'm afraid to go into random dungeons because I keep getting my ass kicked.

That is hilarious!

It's hard to believe this and Oblivion are both running on the same Xbox hardware. Granted, Oblivion was a pretty sh*tty port, but still.

I think I've already played this as much as I've played Uncharted 3 and I haven't done anything. I love it.

(censored, but obvious, NSFW language)

EDIT: Damn you Ruuuhk! We posted that at the exact same time! Except yours was slightly exacter than mine.

According to the achievements page here, only 78% of players have finished the tutorial. Now, I know, some people may have just started it to make sure it works, but really? 22% of people have installed it, started it, and not got that far?

Or, they keep making new characters..

..Like me..

Some people really, really don't like spiders, especially gigantic spiders that could bite your face off.

I suspect such people cover their eyes during the Shelob scene in LOTR

or, we get as far from the screen as we can and squint real hard while turned away and ready to run... at least that's what i've heard some people do.
