WOW- BHA guild offer and info

OK, dumb@$$ question here. I have the basic vanila WoW (Cataclysm?) that I initially downloaded from the Website and need to know what my next upgrade option is?

The progression would go -

WoW - Base Game - Includes levels 1-60, and all 1-60 Cataclysm content (Does not include 81-85 content, despite 81-85 being part of the Cataclysm expansion).
WoW - The Burning Crusade - Includes levels 61-70.
WoW - Wrath of the Lich King - Includes levels 71-80.
WoW - Full Cataclysm expansion - Includes levels 81-85.

Those are all of the releases up to this point.

Thanks, Mike.

If you did upgrade from the trial account, Burning Crusade is now included. So the next expansion you would need to pick up is Wrath of the Lich King to unlock 70 to 80 and Death Knights. Then comes Cata which gives the new races as well as progression to 85.

FYI - GWJ Alliance is missing only FIVE L85 race/class combinations before getting the Stay Classy achievement, and therefore being able to buy the 8th guild bank tab. Is anyone currently working on leveling any of these? I'll update this post with your comments, so we can keep track and avoid duplication of effort.

Gnome Death Knight - Isengrim (L74 - Jorrn alt)
Dwarf Rogue - Kyanite (L?? - Keldar alt)
Dwarf Warlock - NOBODY??
Worgen Rogue - Ebonthorn (L?? - Lady K alt); ?? (L52 - Cheeto alt)
Worgen Warlock - Merphie (L22 - Merphle alt); CaptainCrowbar (L85 - server transfer); ?? (L40 - Enix alt)

Edit: I was dumb and thought Zotz was a Dwarf. We need someone to take up the Dwarf 'Lock mantle!

Yes, I upgraded the Trial Account to a Full Account. That's all I have at the moment.

With that said, we do not have any Warlocks or SPriests

Yeah....just happened to see this....

I got a bone to pick with you buddy.

Someone's gonna take a leap of faith into lava again!!!

Seeing that, I am almost tempted to resubscrib. But you guys are Alliance? I was playing Horde, how much is the transfer again, and faction change?

Oh, you're horde? This sounds like the perfect opportunity to switch the guild to the right faction.

Dunno, but it costs nothing to reroll. Leveling is pretty fast these days -- XP gains have been buffed in Vanilla and BC zones. When 4.3 comes out, Wrath zones will get the same leveling love. You also get a +10 percent buff by joining GWJ-A (or pretty much any other guild that's been around for more than a couple of weeks).

There's also new leveling group that's running on Monday nights. I think the toons are in their 20s. You could hit that in a weekend.

I know I can level fast. I just can't forget other peeps on the others servers as well. as I said, I'm tempted, but will see. At least now I know you guys are Alliance-side

I'm quoting this because....well.....horde is better!!!!!

I wish you could pay one fee with the guild xfer/faction change and get everyone swapped over.....hell....I'd even foot the bill if it wasn't completely astronomical XD

I've been feeling the itch to play WoW again for the last month or so. I last played before even Burning Crusade had been released so I'm sure I'm way behind the curve on what's what.

Anyway, my plan is to download the free version and get a toon up to level 20 and then purchase the regular/Burning Crusade combo. Is there any reason I would need Wrath of the Litch King or Cataclysm at low levels? Other than a couple new starter races it doesn't appear I'd be missing anything till I hit the level cap of Burning Crusade. Please let me know if my thinking is incorrect there.

I just reactivated my account (I blame the upcoming Pandas). Unfortunately my account was hacked while I was on hiatus and the GMs wouldn't restore my gear / gold since it was so long ago that it happened. Well, they restored just the gear that each character was wearing when the breach took place - so Mogens only has a DPS set now, for example, which sucks since I have no gear to tank instances in right now. I removed my authenticator when I was heavy into SC2 and I thought that my WoW accounts were safe since they didn't have an active paid subscription. They got in by way of a 10-day free trial that Blizzard set on my account.

Anyhow, you all may see me around more often now. I need to get an invite back into the guild on some of my alts.

Nope, you're quite correct. The problem is, if you're leveling fast, you're going to hit that cap rather quickly. Keep an eye out for sales, especially as we approach next weekend and try and pick up those expansions on the cheap.

Amazon has a "countdown to Black Friday" deal worth mentioning: Base WoW/BC & Lich King & Cataclysm for $80.

Couple questions for my Alliance brethren, as I contemplate actually playing the game I have been subscribed for the past few years, but have no hours in.

First are random heroics still a Female Doggo and a half to complete? I loved the challenge and the sense of accomplishment one had when completed one with out to many wipes but as primary dps sucked going back in the queue for another couple hours just to wipe again.

Second this is a multi part question so I can say I only had 2 questions. How are the queue times on the Alliance side?
Random heroic, queued as DPS?
Battlegrounds?

Random heroics: Most are quite easy, mostly because folks are (a) geared and (b) have run them a lot by now. (Grim Batol kicks my ass these days for some reason. YMMV.) The only issue is a gear check: You have to have a minimum item level to sign up. I can't recall offhand what it is, but it's about 320 or 330 or so -- not a problem if you have a combination of rep and regular instance gear. I think I read that iLvl minimum for the three new 4.3 dungeons will be about 353. That's a pretty low bar, considering what you'll be able to get with JPs after today.

Queue times: For DPS, it's about 8-10 minutes for regular heroics and 15-20 on troll-roics. (You queue separately.) It's a little shorter during prime time and a little longer on weekend mornings. All of the heroics might get lumped together when 4.3 drops today, so those times might change. Also remember that you're in the queue with folks outside your server. I rarely get grouped with anyone else from BH. Holiday boss queues are practically instance, even as DPS.

Battlegrounds: Haven't queued in a while. It's usually easy enough to get into Tol Barad, where Ally and Horde swap control about every battle or two. It's easy honor, especially when you win.

Keep in mind that as of now you have two new choices: Cataclysm Heroics or Hour of Twilight Heroics (trolls got rolled into the first category). Not sure yet if the first category includes all of the heroics or just all save the three new ones. Both options give 150 VP per run for the first 7 runs though.

The launch heroics require 329, troll 346 and the new ones 353 (the last from what I've heard, though it sounds like Enix has heard the same). I'm sort of assuming that if you pick the Cataclysm Heroic option but your ilvl isn't yet 346 you just won't get sent to a troll heroic, but that's just an assumption.

I'm interested to see what the changes do to the queue times. I also found that as a healer I struggled more in the launch heroics than the troll heroics (at the same gear on my healer), mainly due to the fact that I almost never saw anyone with an average ilvl above 346 in the launch heroics. Troll heroics always seemed to have at least one toon that outgeared the content, either meaning an easier time healing the tank or shorter fights, but YMMV. Hopefully that will be minimized by whatever algorithm Blizzard is using now for the non-HoT heroics.

Correct; if you mouseover the little dice symbol in the "Random Cataclysm Heroic" screen, it shows exactly which dungeons are eligible for you to be randomly assigned into.

Oddly enough, it looks like the new dungeons also are included in the Random Cata dungeons.

So your randomizer choices are: All Cata dungeons (originals, trolls and 4.3) or just the 4.3 ones.

And as if this doesn't already make my head hurt, you must run and finish End Time before you can queue for the second 4.3 instance.

All instances drop JPs, which are not capped (you're limited to 1K VPs per week, regardless of source), and JPs can buy i378 gear, so you'll be looking swell in no time.

I transfered over my shadow priest and faction changed him, now to figure out what race to play on this dirty side.

Welcome! When you figure it out, grab an officer and we'll get you in.

Space goats make good casters.

I did the fury for the crit and sprint. I did end up in the elf city upon logging in. so whether do I go to get the new quests on alliance side? It had been since cats launch that I had I guy on the alliance side of things.

Head to Stormwind. All of the Cata quest portals are in the northeast part of the city, just on the other side of the Dwarven District.

You can take a boat from Darnassus straight to Stormwind. Or you can have fun with portals -- take the one from Darnassus (it's in the palace-like building on the east side) to the Blasted Lands (like you're going to Hellfire Peninsula), then take a U-turn to your left and hit the portal to Stowmwind.

Good luck with the transition. Every time I dabble with Horde, I'm always surprised that I can't kill orcs but am delighted that gnomes are suddenly puntable.

Disappointing by a few things of the faction change, because i went furry, I lost all my undead mounts, I figure they would have transitioned into human mounts.
oh well does a shadow priest need anything other then the headless horsemen mount anyway?

Didn't think so.

Also i am just annoyed i forgot to give this guy a care package of gold before I transitioned him.

That could be a glitch of some sort -- worgen just got mounts with the new patch. Wowhead says there's a vendor near the worgen area in Darnassus.

Wired- We can hook you up with a goodie package. Talk to an officer when you can if you see any gear you need in the guild bank. I'm not on tonight but I'll send you some gold when I can. Enchants, gems, glyphs, we got a bunch of stuff or toons that can help.

Appreciate the offers guys, I will take you up on the services but the cash, I can scrape together some cash and start playing the AH, Besides I am sure ranalin owes me golds from something.

Oh I am on as Inq the furry shadow priest. No i will not stop calling him a fury, until it stops amusing me.

And I stink.

Now to finish this last level to 85 on this guy.
