Your God ain't here, son. He has forsaken us.

Another new trailer, one that introduces several new features and only further increases my incredulity at this game.

*spit take*

A f*cking A-10? And Burt Reynolds?

This game looks like the fever dream of someone who has been playing games for the last decade, with no sleep and lots of barbiturates.

And that's why it's going to rule.

GameTrailers.com has been putting together some short "Cherished Memories" videos using gameplay footage that are just awesome.

Cherished Memories: Exploding Bullets

Cherished Memories: Professor Genki

Cherished Memories: Baseball

And the best one yet:

Cherished Memories: Zombie Duet

I just cannot wait to play this game!

GameTrailers.com also has a great video preview of the game.

I expect this is a question nobody really knows the answer to, but if I haven't played SR2 much, does it make sense for me to go back and play that instead of dropping $50 on SR3? Or are there significant improvements/refinements coming with the sequel?

My guess? SR2 was fun. SR3 will be fun. Do you like fun? I'm sure that SR3 will have some things that SR2 had. But SR2 was fun.
GTA San Andreas was a huge step over Vice City, but it didn't replace it. I will still load up VC from time to time so that I can run through the streets with a Chainsaw screaming GET SOME, or sweeping the beaches with my attack-chopper's blades. And SR2 is much closer to SR3 visually than VC to San Andreas.
EDIT: Oh, and SR2 includes way more fun than San Andreas or VC. Insurance Fraud alone would have sold me that game.

It all depends what you play it on. SR2 is still a lot of fun, but the PC version requires some tweaking to get it to play right.

Hummm, just realize D2D is having a 10% off the regular price. But no mention anywhere it is a Steamwork game version.

I didn't find information that the game will be steamwork out of the box. Could you guys supply a link to reassure me?

Manach, Amazon DD has it for $40 (20% off), and their page does confirm that it's Steamworks. From the Requirements section:

Additional Info: Requires Steam account for installation and activation.

I have SR2 on the XBox. Maybe I should pick up SR3 on the PC and have cross-platform carnage.

Over dinner a couple days ago one of my friends was telling about the Insurance Fraud bit in SR2. That, plus everything else in this thread, pretty much sold me on this game.

Wow, nice find!

When you guys pick this up, trying driving a motorcylce up the sides of buildings. I'm curious if they ever fixed this from SR2, or if they decided it was too hard to fix the physics.

I think this comment I saw at RPS sums things up nicely:

Saint’s Row 3, meanwhile, looks like the shot of heroin to the penis we’ve all been missing.

I haven't kept up with all the deal news lately, what would be the cheapest way go get SR3 digitally (and that way maybe outside of the US)?

Probably work something out with a Goodjer where you pay them $40 via paypal and they send you the Steam code that comes from Amazon's digital delivery service.

I think that only works with one motorcycle and only if you do it just right.

What's that Volition? You've taken EVERYTHING AMAZING and made a game out of it? WHY THANK YOU!

Also, if ever there was a bug that could be touted as a feature...

I may make a Dr. Rockso character.

And he will do cocaine.

I want to inject my paycheck directly into Volition.

f*ck yeah he will!

Played with the Character Creator demo last night. When it comes to making ridiculous characters Saints Row is off to a strong start.

I made this delightful person in the character creator:

Meatman, let's be friends.

Hipster glasses. Nice touch.

He was green before it was cool.
