I'm going to keep this spoiler free.

Spider-Man 2 is the greatest movie I have ever seen. To qualifiy this statement I will let you know that I have been reading Spider-Man comics for fifteen years and have Spider-Man bedsheets.

* edited title to separate movie from game comments - both show up on front page.

Very good movie. I enjoyed this one much more than the first. Sam Raimi is the man. You can tell he definitely has a reverence for the material. I love the inside jokes and the homage to old spiderman covers(spidey in the trash) that are in the film.

Best of all, no Sony Recording Artists featured in the movie! (Eat it Macy Gray)

So does my son - no shame in that - actually his whole room is a Spiderman motif. Pretty comfy I''d say . Of course his loft bed is hell on me trying to get up into so I can read bed time stories. No Ulairi I womt read you bed time stories:). I have heard nothing, but positive reviews and my wife is actually going to see it with a friend this evening. Glad to hear it is as good as I had hoped.

Wow...you guys are killing me.

The first movie was well structured, endearing, fun and overall it was just well done. Action scenes lacked though.

SP2 had two great action set pieces and a load of bad dialogue, horrible cuts, bad science and just non-sensical scenes.

How many times in a movie can we see the misunderstood hereo protected by the ordinary masses??

There was so much crap in this movie it was unbelievable.

""Punch me and I bleed"".....just crap.

Saw it in a packed midnight show this morning and patrons were heckling the movie.....we were all laughing at how bad the movie was.

The Superman 2 plotline ripoff didn''t help the movie either...

It was suppose to a bad line. Didn''t you get that?

I thought it was a much better movie with more humour and better action. ""bad science"" no one is expecting good science. I also do not see the Superman 2 ripoff.

Yeah....and all the dialogue in the movie is supposed to bad. The scene with Aunt may towards the end ...was that supposed to be drawn out, boring and unnecessary?

So many examples of this during the movie. How about the cheesy scene with Uncle Ben in the car.

As for the Supes comparison...In Sups2, Sups makes the choice to denounce his powers for love essentially.

In Spidey 2, Spidey ,makes the choice to denounce his powers for love essentially. The whole mental aspect was truly retarded....just silly. Stupid Silly.

That comes from a comic which came out long before Superman 2.

The dialogue is much better in this film than the first. It is sharper and funny in all of the right places.

Not sure whom came first as far as the comic book goes...

But I know which movie came first.

The way it was used in Spidey2 was just plain silly......I am stressed, conflicted and not sure who I am or should be....oops my powers are gone. Just crap.

There were some truly funny poinst in the movie......but myslef and most of the audience laughed at how bad scenes were.

The CG wasn''t even great...Spidey looked to much like a cartoon ob several occasions.....the final shot of Spidey and MJ escaping certain death after the battle with Doc Oc...was just plain stupid looking....

Doc Ocs Arms stole what show there was....

he never really lost his powers due to stress (that I recall) but the entire writing of Spider-man is based around the idea that he is more human then anything. Consequently he is prone to self-doubt, a bit of depression, and has to suck it up and save the day. That was the appeal, and that is what will make this movie rock.

Superman was out before Spidey but Spider-Man was the first to use the human side of the powers. If anything Superman 2 ripped it from Spider-Man comics.

Hey......hold on there bud..

Love Spiderman...great character...in which case i am a true believer. Don''t go all Stan Lee on me.

I had this problem with Hellboy, Riddick and now Spidey 2. Great characters with greater potential in less then great movies.

I just don''t understand how you can think this about this movie. I think it is better than the first on every level. I think it is a great ride from start to finish with a better villian, story, and fits the comics more. If you love the comics I don''t understand how you cannot love this movie. The line at the end of the movie should get everyone to standup and cheer.

Yo mummas so fat, when she goes around people think she''s smuggling a Ford Explorer!!! (2004 version).

I agree that dialogues were awkward at times (ALL those that involved MJ), but the action sold the movie totally. The performances, dialogue nonwithstanding, were great. Also Doc Ock character was awesome. Was really pity to see him defeated, as a matter of fact.

I thought the akwardness fits the characters. They are suppose to be akward.

I really didn''t have an issue with any of the dialogue. The only cheesy parts where the civilians crowd-surfed spiderman and his aunts hero speech. Everything else was awesome. My biggest fear going into the movie was Doc Ock''s arms would look terrible but it ended up being one of my favorite things in the movie. The surgery scene rocked! Reminded me of Raimi''s old school Darkman days.

I thought the people picking up Spider-Man was funny. It made me think Passion of the Christ for a second and got me to grin.

Aunt May''s hero speech I think fit. Uncle Ben was his moral anchor and he was straying away from him and helped him out.

Keep in mind with what MJ said at hte end made the move even better.

I JUST got back from seeing it. I too got the whole jesus reference, and was highly amused.

As a huge fan of the comics and an avid reader of them (in the past mostly) I thought it was damn near perfect. The dialogue was almost EXACTLY as it should have been. All the characters were done perfectly. Even Doc Ock was written correctly.

Awesome f*cking movie. Just awesome! I''ll be seeing it multiple times.

Just got back from seeing it. Good stuff, I liked it a lot better than the first one... much funnier and only a couple cringe-inducing cheesy bits (the 2 scenes Optimistic mentioned made me groan).

Quick question to you Spider-Man fans out there... is the landlord''s daughter significant in the future or something? Otherwise I''m not sure why that bit was thrown in there...
