The Year Ahead

I hope everyone has enjoyed (or maybe are still enjoying) their holidays. I'm trying to dodge work until the new year but I have a feeling my clients won't cut me much slack if their computers catch fire... again. I don't think we'll be too active on the front page this week while we recharge for our one year anniversary next month and kick off some exciting contests and swag-related doings. To the new visitors and forum members I say welcome! December has been a very busy month for us in terms of traffic and the forums continue to impress me with the caliber of new posters we have joining our little community. Feel free to kick Pyro around if you're bored and check out Sway's weekly Infinite Lives comic if the banner hasn't already sucked you in.

Speaking of banners, we are on the look out for a cool game, developer or service that we'd like to advertise so if you have any suggestions feel free to pass them along. Some we'll do for money and some we'll do because we like what they're doing. All of them will be products or ideas we can get behind so don't worry about seeing any spank-the-monkey ads anytime soon. Speaking of spanking monkeys (?), everything is on track so far for a GWJ E3 Extravaganza this coming May. We'll be there for any new console announcements, Warren Spector leg humpings and Elysium crushing puny humans under his feet moments which should make for a good report. New swag, new forum members, new content and new comics! Should be a good year boys and girls, stick around!

Depending on how good Theif III is it might be Warren Spector floggings.

For instance, there are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I learned that, I gave Jesus a chance. ~Ron Shelton, Bull Durham, 1988

Yeah, I'm also pretty scared for Thief III after what happened to DX:IW. DX:IW wasn't a bad game but it feels like the developers had NO IDEA what was so great about the first game.

I think I miss the hacking interface the most... now it's just another progress bar (whoopee!).

I say we boycott Warren Spector leg humpings until we what Ion Storm does with Thief 3.

No more humpings for you Mr. Spector!

You can't deny a man leg humping privileges due to one game which really isn't that bad. You have to consider all of his past success when you go in for the leg hump!

Yeah, it's scary. I'm staring into the abyss right now, and it's staring into me, which I think is kind of a dick move on the abyss's part. - Nyles

You never know; he might like that just as much.

Hey Certis....how about advertising for Gamefly. I don't work for them, but I do subscribe to their service and think it's a really great value. Just a suggestion.

Gamefly is a good service, no argument there! We're not quite up to Penny-Arcade levels of readers so I'm not sure they'd be interested

Don't feel bad Our site approached them too....and we are also too small time. Long live the small and honest fan sites!
